broadcast center, this is abc7 news. >> now at 11:00, a crumbling cliff and now a toppled tree. the community is dealing with its share of storm-related emergencies. >> those are just some of the problems we saw with heavy rains, rivers and two more storms are on the way. . >> we have abc7 news reporters in the north bay and pacifica with the latest on the storm damage left behind. >> we start with sandhya patel and live doppler 7hd with the timing of the next storm on the way. sandhya? >> we have two storms down and two more to go this weekend. let's show you what is left. it is a little batch of shower activity over mount hamilton. most of the wet weather has ended. here is a look at the next storm.

notice where it is going and notice that this storm has colder air. the storm comes in for your saturday. one is light and five is severe. this is a light system. it has a quarter to half an inch of rain expected for most area. the biggest concern is the flooding potential. it continues at 5:00 p.m. saturated soils and swollen creeks could cause more flooding problems. here is your time line. you will see light shower activity primarily in the hooter bay. the -- in the north bay. it will move in 12:00 tomorrow afternoon. we'll have the hour by hour time line and when it will reach the rest of the bay area and the sunday storm coming you. >> we'll check back with you in a few minutes. an enormous tree slammed into an oakland hills home damaging the home so badly it is uninhabitable. it is about six feet in diameter and 80 feet tall. thankfully nobody was home when it came crashing down

east of holy names university. it ripped down power lines and knocking out power to the neighborhood. crews will clear it from the street tonight and then work to clean up the rest of the mess. >> it was a similar seen in pacifica. it knocked out power to an entire neighborhood. that's not the only problem in the coastal community. >> serming yow -- sergio picks up the story live in pacifica. >> the massive pieces of equipment are all ready to go to begin tearing 320esplanade and the weather has caused problems across pacifica. crews were prepping this site for deem -- for demolition. they started to rip down 320 320esplanade avenue. >> they will tear down the front of the building with a small extau -- excavator. >> you can see debris from 320

320esplanade. wind and rain caused trouble for this pacifica home. a massive tree came crashing on top of it and it knocked out power to the whole neighborhood. >> i came home and the power was out. i left and i came back. they wouldn't even let us up for an hour. >> construction crews could continue repairing a week's old sinkhole near the downtown pier. from sky 7hd we spotted new trouble spots. residents of the bluff departmental us the crane is part of a construction crew that was on site the last few weeks trying to shore up the cliff. meanwhile, a wind tunnel. >> the winds can get gusty out here to 50 miles an hour. in fact, last week they were clocked at 77 miles an hour and blew the roof off of the building right here. >> the weather could make the planned tear down

complicated. abc7 news. >> they will keep an eye on the creeks and rivers. this is hopper creek. many waterways are swollen with more rainfall on the way. there was less rain than expected. melanie woodrow continues our team coverage from the north bay. >> she is live where flooding is a concern tonight. melanie? >> they have been closed all day and you can see why. both the vineyard and the street are flooded. >> they stepped out to see how high the russian river is getting. >> the yellow gate up there, it is starting to make people nervous. >> when the river rises their homes flood. >> we empty into a creek and that's the problem right there. >> to homes and the downtown

businesses. they are setting the bar for the weekend. according to the rain knee day schedule -- rainy day schedule if it gets too high they stay closed. >> we heard 27 feet. >> long-time residents say they are relieved for now. >> we heard it is not going to be as disastrous as was predicted. >> still restaurants are having the option to opt out. in forestville, wet weather created soggy grounds and streets making the road impassable. while the ducks don't mind he is considering moving. >> he does say there are a lot of fun things to do on the river if he can just make it until summer. in the north bay abc7 news. >> the south bay was spared any major trouble, although they did have to contend with

wet roads. the new potholes popped up giving people another hazard to avoid. in san jose the employees are working over time with a dozen more cars than usual. >> there were mostly collisions and completely destroyed impact bars. the back end smashed in. frame damage. >> when i see it pouring down with lots of rain i say it will be busy and there will be more accidents. >> we found a few locations in the south bay where trees or branches had come down, but none that caused any damage. taking a live look now at the scene at sfo, some pass injuries face can sell -- some passengers faced cancellations because of the rain. the wind and rain delayed hundred of other flights. the average delay was two hours on the short haul flight. no delay at mineta san jose or oakland international airport. tahoe could see a lot of snow.

after 5:30. the victim went to the hospital and police are looking for the shooter. investigators hope dna from two human skeletons will help identify who they are. they got a call on wednesday about a skull found in polk valley. if dna can't identify them they will try to reconstruct a face using the skull. one of the grand marshals of this year's san francisco pride parade is not just one person. the title of organizational grand marshall goes to the black lives matters movement. they have several grand marshals and they are selected for being local heros who made significant contributions to the lgbq community and society at large. the pride parade will be held on june 26th. the news at 11:00 continues. chaos in chicago. protesters shutdown donald

pleasanton and all of the bay area, this is abc7 news. chaos in chicago. the protesters invaded a trump rally. scuffles broke out and one punch was thrown. two officers were injured including this officer who was hit in the head with a bottle. police arrested five people. tonight trump blamed the protesters saying they left him no choice, but to cancel his rally. but these demonstrations are happening more often. >> the race for the white house continues, but rising tensions sparked crashes in violence. donald trump's rally in chicago. while fights were erupting inside, protests outside caused the campaign event to be canceled. trump was interest -- interrupted several times by protesters. >> our country has to toughen

we want to turn back to our flooding issues we have seen all over the north bay. all of our rain has turned streets into rivers. >> they decided to go wake boarding in sonoma county after the road flooded. they plan to continue wake boarding all weekend. two other guys took a ride on the sannen -- san enselmo creek. they said it felt like they were on white water rapids. >> they may get the boogie boards ready. it is rain something more. >> sandhya is is here with it. >> it is going to rain some more, ama and larry, both on saturday and sunday. taking a look at live doppler 7hd, a few showers over mount hamilton and it is snowing in the sierra. right now controls on state route 88, but not 80 and 50. the snow levels will befalling over the weekend.

a storm warning until monday at 11:00 a.m. they are expecting two to four feet of snow with the gusty winds. you know you will need your chains. we are looking at 31 inches atta hoe city and 47 -- at tau show show -- tahoe city. what did we receive? the last two storms that moved through are both three's. they dumped more than four inches at mount saint helena. everyone else in between that. we have had a healthy dose of rain, but not for everyone. the temperatures right now are in the 50s. 48 in los gatos and 49 in san ramon. this was dotted by rain drops. two more storms are coming in. one is light and one is moderate. it will turn dry and warmer. the change in the pattern is coming, but not immediately. this weekend you have a one on our storm impact scale. it is a light system. a quick burst of rain and when you look at the hour by hour

time line, tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. you will see a few showers popping up ahead of the storm system, but it is a narrow line of rain we will be watching. it is light to moderate rain in the north bay. notice what happens. it starts to slide by 3:00 p.m. you may get some stuff done in the north bay. the showers will spread into the afternoon and the evening hours by 7:00 p.m. primarily in the east bay. and then it wind down only to see another storm come in. that one is a moderate strength storm. it is a two on the impact storm. half an inch to an inch of rain. there is a flooding risk for the north bay. the creeks are swollen. any additional rain even if it is not a lot could exacerbate the problems in the north bay. keep an eye on the creeks and streams and watch out for potential flooding. 5:00 a.m. the rain is in the north bay and santa cruz mountain. we'll get periods of rain at 9:00 a.m. and then it is scattered in nature around

noontime. it picks back up as we head to about 5:00 on sunday evening and then continues around 8:00 p.m. on sunday evening before it winds down. in terms of rainfall for next two storms we are looking at upwards of an inch in the north bay and some of the wettest spots pick up two to two and a half inches. once again .35 of an inch. not a lot of rain expected. this storm and the one for sunday, both saturday and sunday storms are going more to the north than the last two storms. they don't contain the same moisture. i want to emphasize it is not the same as the soakers we received the last couple days. first thing for your early plans, jacket will do. mid40s to low 50s. it will start out chilly. then temperatures in the mid50s to low 60s with the rain for your saturday. tomorrow our very own michael finney will be in san francisco hosting the st. patrick's day parade and just in time for the parade we will hold off the rain. but by the afternoon and the evening

those showers will begin after that parade ends. the storm impact scale was on saturday and two for sunday. don't forget sunday morning 2:00 a.m. goes to 3:00 a.m. a few lingering showers on monday morning and then we go dry, warmer, look at the 70s showing up by the middle of the workweek. big change.
