live from the kgo broadcastç center. . a sudden road collapse is causing commuter frustration, the weekend storms are to plam. >> but first, pg&e is working to get customers in their homes after aç sinkhole led to a massive gas link. >> we have live team coverage tonight on the after math of the weekend storms. we will begin with katy. >> she is live in moraga where pg&e isç still working to reste service. >> reporter: just got an update, as of right now, 1,601 customers have had the gas restored, that is out of 2500. the crews are calling itç quit for tonight, anyone that was not home will find one of these on their home, crews will be back

out knocking on doors at 8:00 in the morning. they are working as fast as they can, at a rate of 500 customers an hour.ç after going without for about 24 hours the gas has been reconnect at gordon's house, he is keeping it in perspective. the tv, about syrian refuges and everything, this is nothing. the inconvenience, the coldç y are should -- the cold showers. and no heat. >> reporter: the gas had to be shut off after the sinkhole opened up onç sunday. >> it's more complicated to turn them on. you have to go in the house, turn the meter on and we visit each gas aappliance they have. >> reporter: a different disaster on augusta lane will not be as readily çresolved, timmalford's home has been seriously compromised. they had to move out. >> we are trying carry on life.

marin county has more than enough water. we were at phoenix lake and it's running over the brim since the most recent round of storms. marin county has seen more storms since 2011 and now has enough to last forçó two years, it's important to note that the drought is by no means over in california, but all of the rain is helping. you can stay on to top of theç weather. >> we are following breaking news from chicago, where three police officers were shot tonight. this is new video from the chicago hospital where the officers were taken. you can see the heavy policeç presence there. they were investigating drug activity when someone opened fire. the officers shot back and killed thew3 suspect. >> a chase ended with an arrest.

it started on interstate 9. the officers caught up with the driver, while the warriors were playing. the chase began whn)the driver failed to yield. new at 11:00, a women's son and san jose city councilman are credited with rescuing that woman from a kidnapper. police responded to the scene. a woman's sonç saw a man car jk and kid nnap his mom, so he jumd in to his car and chased him. the deputy chief of the fire department and a city councilman at the meetingñi heard a crash d jumped in to action. >> we just held him down on the ground and had his arms, you know, wrapped up behind his back, he was still trying to get away. >> but he didç not, the suspec was injured and taken to the hospital. >> cal fire crews are mourning the loss of woman that was pursuing her life long dream.
