the track. tonight bart service between two stations is still shutdown. another transit agency is warning passengers to brace for big delays for the morning commute. good evening and thank you for joining us. i'm ama daetz. >> i'm dan ashley. bart shutdown service between the north concord martinez station and the bay point station just after 10:00 a.m. this morning and more than 12 hours later a bus bridge is in place between those two stations. >> and service won't be restored by morning rush hour. leslie brinkley is live in concord with our developing story. leslie? >> that's right, it will keep rolling and they are saying commuters will be stuck with the bus bridge by the morning commute. they are rn whatting travelers -- they are warning traveler and writers and they will be running shorter trains and fewer cars between here and san francisco in the

emergency that would then make us available for state funds. >> they waived the process for the repair work. >> we need the ability to make that happen without going through the process. >> time is of the essence, but there is no way to know when they will be back to normal. >> we are investigating to see when the road may have been eroded underneath. >> the sinkhole opened up following heavy rain and it severed a pg&e gas line affecting 2500 customers and swallowed a traffic light. now the hole is fenced off and drivers are forced to take detours through parking lots. >> i wasn't even sure the parking lot was open. >> most people seem to be taking it in stride. >> it is manageable and not that big of a crisis. >> it is a big hole. >> moraga police are asking everyone to drive slowly and safely in the area. abc7 news. in reno, nevada highway

patrol troopers, firefighters and the public saluted nathan taylor has a procession drove along interstate 80. fire trucks hung the flag over an over pass and people waived. taylor was directing traffic at an accident scene there truckee when he was hit by an suv. he died on sunday. taylor worked for the highway patrol for six years three at the chp-san jose office. >> a man wanted for a double shooting is trying to kill a pacifica police officer. police say early this morning they spotted him walking on 101. when an officer tried to arrest him he put up a fight and fired his gun. neither man was seriously hurt. he was wanted for shooting two men and he is facing three charges of attempted murder. >> a man who stole a consider and ran over a 6-year-old boy is in jail. police captured this man early this morning in hayward. the chp says morris is driving this stolen ford fusion when he struck the boy on march

his comment, the majority leader talked with the nominee judge merrick garland and refused to meet with i'm h saying the senate will not take any action. mccome says people -- mcconnell says he wants to give the people a voice by waiting until the next president takes office. merrick garland would fill the seat of scalia. garland is considered a moderate. the current dean worked for him under the attorney general janet reno and says garland is not a predictable vote on the court. >> judge garland looks at each case and there is no pattern of his decisions. >> if judge garland is not confirmable nobody is. >> the republican lead senate confirmed garland 76-23 to the u.s. court of appeals for the district of columbia. friends and family of sierra lamar are not giving up

of the bay area, this is abc7 fuse. four years ago today sierra lamar was last seen leaving her morgan hill home. tonight those who knew her best got together to remember her as they plan to resume the search for the missing

teenager. new at 11:00, lilian kim is live in fremont with the story. lilian? >> reporter: ama, sierra lamar lived in fremont before moving to morgan hill. el patio is one of her favorite restaurants and that's why friends and family chose to gather here tonight. they are in college now, see sierra lamar's childhood friends. not a moment goes by when they don't think of her. she was 15 years old when she disappeared on her way to school four years ago today. >> birthdays and going to college. everything that i can see myself getting older and i do think about her a lot and she should also be experiencing that and it has taken away from her. >> the suspect is awaiting trial. he is accused of kidnapping and killing sierra, but her body still hasn't been found. sierra's mother, marlene, says get togethers like this one help her cope. >> it doesn't get any less painful even four years later, but it does help seeing her

friends organizing this and the parents. i am blessed to have known these people. >> weekly searches ended last year. but volunteers will go back to a reservoir outside morgan hill. they believe it wasn't searched thoroughly the first time around. sierra's dad plans to be there. >> i am still hoping she is alive somewhere. that's a natural thing, you know, the family keeps the hope alive. >> in fremont, lilian kim, abc news. donald trump delivered a bold prediction today about what might happen if he is denied his party's nomination. trump shared his thoughts on the phone with cnn. >> we are way ahead of everybody. i don't think you can say that we don't get if automatically. i think it would be -- i think you would have riots. i think you would have riots.
