now the new normal. tonight b. ncha.r.t. is telling passengers the delays could last indefinitely. >> a bus bridge between two east bay stations is expected to continue tomorrow and possibly beyond that. >> the transit agency is blaming an electrical problem between those two stations which damaged about 50 cars yesterday. b.a.r.t. says it still hasn't been able to pinpoint the exact cause of the problem. >> as a result, there is now delays throughout the entire b.a.r.t. system because there are fewer cars to run because there were so many damaged yesterday. >> live at the north concord system where commuter tempers are bubbling. >> reporter: today was a rough one for commuters and many say they're not sure how much more they can take. bus shuttles continue to run

nonstop between north concord and pittsburg stations. b.a.r.t. riders should get used to hearing that. shuttles between north concord stations and bay point could run indefinitely. >> this is not how i wanted to end my day. >> reporter: trying to get home to antioch. >> they need to fix the problem. >> reporter: b.a.r.t. isn't sure what's causing a mysterious track problem that's already sent 55 cars to the repair shop. a semiconductor device that allows the tracks to move. they are pricey and cause weeks to order. the fallout is longer delays. >> 28 delays for the first train

>> reporter: holy cross cemetery is basically ground zero for the mosquitos. they arrived in this area and then quickly spread to the university heights neighborhood. this is an '80s aedes aegypti. they can carry dangerous diseases. they're in this one menlo park neighborhood. >> you don't expect that to be here up. expect that to be in other parts of the world. not in menlo park. >> reporter: aedes aegypti arrived three years ago. experts believe a family must have moved here from a more tropical region and mosquitos laid eggs in their potted plant. before they left menlo park, the eggs hatched and thrived. these mosquitos aren't like most other ftypes. aedes aegypti prefer to feed on humans, more during dusk than dawn and continue to eat over

and over again. >> those in menlo park should be worried. >> reporter: aedes aegypti eggs were last found in may. >> if someone is living or comes from brazil, comes to our neighborhood, the mosquito bites that person, it can be easily transmitted. >> reporter: mosquito control officials believe chances are very low, still they want the mosquito gone. the best way to do that is to get rid of standing water. abc7 news. 4100 university students can start getting the second dose of meningitis vaccine. everyone vaccinated has to wait at least 30 days before getting the second vaccine. the university will offer the vaccine tomorrow and april 6th, 7th and 8th. the fbi is releasing new

information this evening about the santa clara man accused of stabbing four people. he believe they may have self-radicalized. officials say mohammed's laptop contained pro-isis propaganda and he visited isis and other extreme sites beforehand. as they continue their search for stabbing victim. the video from november shows the moment the stabbing happened. police say the suspect got into an argument with another hand outside the bar on lincoln avenue. he say he stabbed the man and took off. also in san jose, police have arrested an assistant track coach they believe had sex with students. he works at mt. pleasant high school. the victims are a 17-year-old

student and 14-year-old student. the investigation began on monday. services arrested garcia on tuesday. today lawyers for the man suspected of killing morgan hill teen asked for time to evaluate the dna evidence. they say the dna on her pants matched 12 people, including torres, who was charged with her murder. the dna will be important because her body has not been found. legal analyst told us today torres' attorneys will have a tough time overcoming it. >> friends and family are expected to continue their search for lamar this weekend. a construction worker who fell 53 stories to his death in l.a. today didn't have permission to be that high. his company said he only had clearance to be on the first three floors. it's not clear what led him to

bay as well. pockets of low visibility may slow down your commute. eventually we will see the rain, but before we get to the rain, i do want to show you encouraging news. drought watch from january of this year 2016. look at how much of the bay area was covered in extreme and severe drought. look what happens. all that recent rain has made a difference. much of the bay area now in the lowest category of the drought. abnormally dry. when you take a look at the wider picture here, i want to caution you that much of california is still in exceptional drought so the drought is not over. we have made progress. on that note we bring in impact scale. we rank our storms and will continue to do it not just winter but spring as well if we have those systems. we have one coming in. it's a light system. breezy conditions are expected. here's your hour-by-hour timeline. going into sunday is when the north bay will get the rain.
