broadcast center, this is abc7 news. >> and my concern was how i would get to work the next week jie. bart riders are facing lots of questions since engineers have not identified the source of a voltage spike that knocked dozens of cars out of service. i'm eric thomas. abc7 news says they ran test trains to get to the bottom of the problem. they have been shutdown since wednesday. tiffany wilson is live in concord, and tiffany what can bart rider expect tomorrow. >> bart did run the test trains this evening. however, late tonight bart tweeted out that they have not been able to find the root of the problem. tomorrow morning bart riders expect the bridge to be back and leave yourself some extra

conversation coming up on world news at 5:30. a marine from southern california is is the first u.s. service member killed in iraq since is october of last year. the staff sergeant died outside mo so l and rocket fire hit his unit. he was from temecula in riverside county and was out of camp lejeune in north carolina. a dog owner and his friend held a memorial for a pet killed after a confrontation with a safe way security guard in san francisco. abc7 news shared the story on friday. he accused a guard of hitting him and smashing a cell phone and kicking his dog. roscoe was killed when he was hit by a car. his friends gathered outside on 16th street today. >> i received so many e-mails and dog love and people love. it is really helping me

expected to unveil new products tomorrow. apple sent out the invites earlier this month with the message "let us loop you in." among the products expected to be unveiled a new 4-inch iphone that combines the size of the 5s with features from the iphone 6 and 6s. and there will be upgrades to the ipad and the apple watch may get new band colors and designs. and you can so a video twitter tweeted celebrating 10 years of your thoughts in 140 characters or less. the video includes some of the beggest events and news stories since twitter launched in 2006. san francisco-based twitter technically turns 10 tomorrow. but the celebration arrived on monday in australia 18 hours ago. salt could be the solution to california's future clean energy goal. a southern california company called solar reserve released this video showing its first of a kind solar power plant that creates and then stores electricity using salt.

this plant in nevada creates enough power for 75,000 homes. plants like these could help california meet the goal of having half of the state's electricity come from solar and wind power by 2030. a rare whale birth was caught on video off the coast of dana point in southern california. it happened yesterday alongside a whale watching boat. captain dave's dolphin and a whale safari posted the video. the mother had to push the baby up to the surface to keep the breathing. a pod of whales swam up to the boat. these are killer whales that are normally killed in warmer waters. >> and oakland's annual running festival as people cheered on runners as they crossed the finish line. that is the mayor at the finish line. an estimated 27,000 people took part in today's event.

coast. in terms of rainfall for today, the north bay fueled half an inch of rain. santa rosa two-thirds of an inch. as the front sags to the south it lost a lot of steam and moisture. oakland is about .13 of an inch. and redwood city, pine 15 of -- .15 of an inch. we are starting to see clearing skies and it is currently 48 degrees in santa rosa with overcast skies in san jose. 57 in san carlos and 56 in san francisco and concord is at a temperature of 57 degrees. overnight, partly to mostly cloudy skies. cool spots in the north bay dropping to the 40s. most everywhere else will sit in the low to mid50s. those will be your starting temperatures. we will introduce some rain on your monday. it is a light storm and very similar to what we experienced today with scattered showers. the future weather hour by
