for cancer. researchers say the test could also determine which women are at risk for heart disease because the amount of calcium in the arteries of the breast, which can seen on a digital mammogram, seem to reflect the amount of calcium in the coronary arteries that supply blood to the heart. a jetblue flight attendant charged with ditching 70 pounds of cocaine in her luggage is due back in court this afternoon. >> talking about marsha reynolds who had been granted bail. but now the u.s. attorney is trying to block her release. abc's david kerley with the story. >> reporter: this jetblue flight attendant, a former jamaican beauty queen, in custody accused of trying to sneak this, nearly 70 pounds of cocaine through airport security. marsha gay reynolds was caught on los angeles security cameras in street clothes friday, as she used her airline badge to try to get through the known crew member security line. but she grew nervous when randomly selected for a secondary search. as tsa officers prepared to search her bags, the former nyu track runner kicks off her heels

♪ skinny, so skinny ♪ skinny, so skinny "skinny" time. we're going to start on a somber note, which it seems we've been doing a lot this year in the entertainment world. because comedian garry shandling has passed away. doctors believe he suffered a fatal heart attack yesterday. you know, he started out as a comedy writer and then turned to stand-up. >> he starred in the appropriately titled "it's the garry shandling show," and the "larry sanders show," in which he played a fictional late night talk show host, probably his most memorable role. >> shandling regularly filled in for johnny carson way back when. his trademark humor was evident from his first ever appearance on "the tonight show". >> all dads do this, they unbutton their pants and unzip his fly. then you can judge how good the meal is by how far down his zipper is, you know? one time he stood up and his pants fell to the ground. and we were at a restaurant.

good morning. i'm reena ninan. >> and i'm kendis gibson. here's some of the top headlines we're following this friday morning on "world news now." terror manhunt. six people have been picked up in connection with the attacks in brussels. the third airport attacker has been identified and investigators are trying to figure out why two of the bombers were keeping close tabs on a top nuclear scientist. seven hackers linked to the iranian government have been accused -- have been charged with executing coordinated cyber attacks on dozens of banks as well as a small dam outside new york city. the suspects are not in custody and may never be arrested. the search for a missing 1-year-old from indiana ended with the discovery of a body. shaylyn ammerman disappeared from her father's house earlier this week. a 22-year-old man who was home when she went missing is now in custody.

president obama and his family are heading back to the u.s. this morning. the president apologized for u.s. policies during argentina's so-called dirty war and visited a memorial for the victims in buenos aires. those are some of our top stories on this friday, march 25th. >> announcer: from abc news, this is "world news now." good morning, everyone. we begin this half hour with the new raids in belgium as police try to get to the bottom of the deadly terror attacks. >> six people were detained in brussels last night and they may face charges this morning. authorities say they now know the identity of the third airport bomber. and they've uncovered evidence of a possible nuclear plot. abc's alex marquardt is there with details. >> reporter: chilling new evidence that the terrorists who unleashed chaos in brussels may have been plotting an even more sinister attack. security sources now revealing that brothers khalid and ibrahim

el bakraoui had been spying on a top belgian nuclear scientist, using a hidden camera to film him as he went in and out of his home. ten hours of video discovered. their goal unclear, but western officials have long feared isis might try to build a dirty bomb. two of belgium's nuclear sites had been partially evacuated after tuesday's deadly attacks. both brothers, suicide bombers that day. ibrahim el bakraoui at the airport. he's the man in the middle. khalid exploding his bomb in this subway car. sending terrified passengers scrambling out into the darkness. belgium's justice minister admitting they ignored a warning that may have prevented the attacks. both brothers had known terror connections. khalid, the subject of an international arrest warrant for his ties to the paris attacks. and ibrahim deported from turkey last year. turkish officials saying they warned belgium he was a, quote, foreign terrorist fighter. there's an all-out manhunt for

two other surviving terrorists still thought to be on the loose. the man in the black hat from that airport surveillance image, and now another man, seen in the metro just before the bombing. the second suspect was spotted by a surveillance camera, which are all over the metro system like the one right here. he was seen on the platform with the suicide bomber, khalid el bakraoui, who then got on a train and detonated his explosives as it pulled away. police setting up roadblocks at the border, searching the trunks of cars near the airport and patting down anyone heading into the subway. searching their bags, too. this city still very much on high alert. french police say that they have stopped another planned terror attack. there was a police operation just outside of paris. france's interior minister saying they foiled a terror plot which was at an advanced stage. europe grappling with its new reality. alex marquardt, abc news, brussels. >> it is a stark and troubling new reality, indeed, for europe.

that said people from as many as 40 countries are believed to be among the 31 dead and nearly 300 wounded. >> and more survivors are sharing the details of their harrowing ordeal. among them former college basketball player sebastian bellin, who is still recovering in the hospital. the blast ripped into his leg and knocked him to the ground as debris rained down on him. abc's david muir was with him in the hospital. >> my leg was completely severed. my -- my -- i was just -- i was going that way, i was going that way. i was just in shock. i remember trying to get up and trying to move as quick as i could, but i couldn't. i couldn't move anything. i remember seeing two little kids to my right. their little hands were up in the air. and then -- then the whole time i was just -- i just -- i told myself, i'm going to make it, i'm going to make it.

when i got in the ambulance, i knew i was good. >> incredible story. at least four americans still unaccounted for, including justin and stephanie schultz, who had moved to brussels. officials initially told the family they were still alive. that turned out to be a mistake. they were later told that the couple is still missing. using his strongest words yet, vice president joe biden has slammed republicans for refusing to consider the president's supreme court nominee. the vice president also took republicans to task for invoking the so-called biden rule using his comments from 1992 to the support their stance. bite biden said he was an advocate of bipartisan compromise and accused republicans of abandoning their duties and creating a constitutional crisis. >> i've never seen it like this. washington right now, congress is dysfunctional. they're undermining the norms that govern how we conduct ourselves. >> senate republicans say nominating a supreme court justice should be the job of the next president.

there are at least three republican senators who are saying judge merrick garland should get at least a hearing. the battle between the two top republican presidential candidates over their wives is turning even nastier. the latest escalation came after trump tweeted a picture of both women side by side. here's abc's lauren lyster. >> reporter: a political campaign war over wives, all beginning with this old photo of melania trump in "gq" magazine from her former modeling days as seen in an ad released by a pro-cruz super pac attacking donald trump. trump then blaming cruz for the ad posting on twitter, be careful, lyin' ted or i will spill the beans on your wife. the war of words escalating from there. cruz telling "gma" trump should stay away from his spouse, heidi. >> for donald, she is way out of his league. if he wants to get in a character fight, he should stick with me.

>> a wild scene in mesa, arizona. a wild scene in mesa, arizona. a man being pursued by police gets out of his vehicle at a stoplight and tries to jack a motorcyclist. the two appear to exchange blows before the suspect returns to his pickup. he then leads police on a chaotic chase. take a look. you can see an officer getting out there with his gun. residential streets and freeways during the rush hour traffic were shut down. it only ended when the suspect crashed his vehicle. the suspect was also wanted in a hit and run incident in tucson. >> incredible images. former wrestler hulk hogan has been awarded a stunning $140 million in a suit against gawker over a sex tape. >> and now some of the jurors are explaining why they voted in favor of such a big award. here's abc's dan harris. >> reporter: the jurors explained why they awarded such a huge settlement to hulk hogan in his invasion of privacy case against the website gawker. $140 million. >> if we were all in the same

identified him. his name appears on a u.s. watch list. so do the names of the two brothers. they're also looking for a man seen on surveillance video not released publicly standing on the subway platform moments before the explosion there. those two urgent manhunts are taking priority here. >> aaron, incredible late breaking details today. reports that brothers were tracking a nuclear scientist. what do we know about that? >> reporter: well, the two brothers ibrahim and khalid el bakraoui had stashed apparently in the bushes somewhere outside the scientist's home a hidden camera and took hours, as many as ten hours of their own surveillance footage. it was found in an anti-terrorism raid following the paris attacks. so the authorities here in brussels had known about this footage for the last several months. the question is, what were the brothers going to do with it? it raises questions about perhaps some sinister intentions and it fuels the fear that the attacks here in brussels the other day as bad as they were

this is "world news now." good morning, everyone. i'm kendis gibson. >> i'm reena ninan. we begin with the intense manhunt for the surviving terrorist behind the horrific attacks in belgium. >> yeah, overnight six people were arrested in brussels and police are still looking for at least two men believed to be on the loose. abc's aaron katersky has the latest right now from brussels. aaron, good morning. what do you know? >> reporter: kendis, reena, good morning to you. today, secretary of state john kerry arrives here in brussels. he'll bring offers of american assistance, the condolences of the american people for the more than 30 people killed in the attacks, and u.s. information about at least some of the suspects. anti-terrorism police raided new locations in the brussels neighborhood where the attackers made their bombs. six were detained, though they're still hunting for this man in light-colored clothing and a hat seen in an airport surveillance image moments before the explosions. the u.s. has identified him and

said his name appears on a terror watch list. so do the names of suicide bomber brothers ibrahim and khalid el bakraoui. security sources told abc news the two brothers secretly filmed a top belgian nuclear scientists. hours of footage was seized following the paris attacks raising new questions about more sinister intentions. their bombs were bad enough. more than 100 blast victims remain in hospitals, half of them in intensive care. the bomb at the subway station caused the most carnage, and police are now looking for a man seen with the bomber on the platform, holding a bag and walking away moments before the explosion. and as that manhunt continues, the last of three official days of mourning is under way now, and although the crowds are not here in place de la bourse, the main focal point for belgians following the attacks, you can see the tokens of grief that have been left here on the pavement. kendis, reena? >> we know that belgian officials have taken a lot of

heat for possibly missing clues from all across the world. we're hearing now belgian officials are possibly offering their resignation. what do you know about that? >> reporter: two ministers offered to resign. the justice minister and the interior minister conceding there were missteps in the lead up to the attacks and perhaps some miss opportunities to surveil or track at least some of the suspects. the prime minister rejected those resignations. he said, you don't leave the battlefield in the middle of a war. >> that war is ongoing right now. let's hope there aren't any missteps that they're missing at this point. >> abc's aaron katersky live in belgium. thank you so much for that report. should mention this, nba hall of famer dikembe mutombo was among the thousands of people caught up in the chaos as the bombs went off at brussels airport.

>> the former basketball star was asleep in a passenger lounge waiting for a connecting flight back home at the time of the attack. he said he ran downstairs right into the mayhem as everyone was trying to escape. >> i just woke up and i was like, what's going on? what's going on? so i decided to run myself. it was just sad to see all of those women with babies in the morning and their children and old ladies who couldn't walk. and they didn't have nobody to push them. it was very sad. >> mutombo says two americans recognized him, took him to a safe area. they were picked up by someone from the u.s. embassy and driven to the airport in amsterdam. he calls those americans his two angels. well, the u.s. has charged seven hackers linked to the iranian government accused of cyber attacks on dozens of banks as well as a small dam outside of new york city. the attorney general characterized the attacks as relentless, systematic and widespread. none of those charged is in custody and it's not clear if they will ever be arrested. secretary of state john kerry and russian president vladimir putin have met in moscow. they agreed to use their

influence with both sides to strengthen the cease-fire in syria. they also plan to increase humanitarian aid. kerry says the terror attacks in brussels have reinforced their efforts to defeat isis. he heads to brussels today to offer his condolences. it's getting nasty. the battle between ted cruz and donald trump over their wives has reached a new level of nastiness. it escalated after trump retweeted an unflattering photograph of heidi cruz next to a glamour shot of melania trump. that brought this response from ted cruz. >> it is not acceptable for a big, loud, new york bully to attack my wife. donald, you're a sniveling coward, and leave heidi the hell alone. >> here's what the experts say. attacking heidi cruz not going to do much to improve trump's standing with women. a poll done in march showed half of all american women had a very

unfavorable view of him. okay. now, much of south florida was swamped by heavy downpours last night. at least 4 inches of rain flooded the streets of boca raton, making driving nearly impossible. the pouring rain also submerged much of the baseball field at the florida atlantic university. but the nasty spring weather unleashed most of its fury further west, dumping enough snow and hail to close hundreds of miles of roads, shutting down denver's airport for a time. abc's clayton sandell is there. >> reporter: the swirling mess of spring storms is threatening the south. it's the same system that knocked texas with funnel clouds, lightning, and hail. >> it just got really loud, and then our window just bust through. >> reporter: in kansas and oklahoma, it's the wind supercharging this grass fire, exploding to nearly 400,000 acres. in colorado, a blizzard, trapping hundreds of drivers overnight. some rescued by armored police trucks.
