so you can love cereal... again! it's saturday, march 26th good morning and thanks for joining us. let's start with a quick look of the weather. here's lisa argen, it's been pretty quiet this morning. >> it has, chris, you can see that reflected from the radar right now. the live sweep, cloud free conditions and no low clouds to speak of due to an offshore flow that will allow for northerly winds to warm us up once again to above average readings. the view from pier 15, the coolest spots in morgan hill, also concord and napa kind of cool. otherwise we're in the low 50s

with plenty of sunshine for everyone. it's serm certainly cooler in oakland and livermore by about 5 degrees. elsewhere a mixing allowing for numbers to be warmer in the north bay. we have plenty of sunshine on tap. low 60s for the cool spot along the coast and low 70s inland. >> within the last hour, police have identified james gir ard as the suspect who shot and injured an 8-year-old boy in concord last night. there's a $1.1 million warrant out for his arrest related to the shooting. police say girard is currently on parole to burglary. as for the young boy, he's out of surgery and expected to survive. the driveby shooting happened at la salle and caramel drive in concord. here's melanie wood row. concord police say the 8-year-old was playing in front of his own home when he was shot in his upper body. >> two white males in a silver color honda drove up to the

residence and fired one single shot. >> reporter: from sky 7 hd, you can see investigators with flashlights searching for evidence. police say they do not know if the home was targeted but they do say they are familiar with the address. officers have been called out recently nor various disturbances. >> we want to know why, why these guys would shoot -- especially with children in front of the house. >> i really do hope he pulls through and is able to move on and the family is able to continue to protect their children. >> police say the boy's family initially drove him to john mere medical center then taken to children's hospital in oakland. >> with him being transported in the ambulance rather than in air, that's usually a good sign. >> reporter: officers questioned family members and neighbors. >> it's the first of anything of this caliber to happen in this neighborhood. >> reporter: off camera he described the 8-year-old as a beautiful little boy always

outside playing. there was a female outside with him when she was shot and she was not hurt. melanie woodrow, abc 7 news. look at this surveillance video of a fatal robbery in san francisco. a man dashes into the street trying to escape his attacker but the robber catches up and stabs the victim in the head. 44-year-old paul tam, died on thursday after hanging on for a full month after the attack. abc 7 news reporter tells us the police officers association is now offering a $5,000 reward in the case. >> reporter: here's the surveillance video. you can see the victim paul tam trying to get away from the attacker. tam runs around an oncoming car but seems to trip and the armed robber pounces. >> it looked like punches but it wasn't, carrying some type of unknown object. >> reporter: tam is from manchester england, the project manager from a web company was visiting with a relative from southern california. we spoke to his family and they

requested privacy right now. this brutal attack has residents here shocked. >> this neighborhood, never felt this is creepy. >> you hear about every once in a while something happening over on van as, some sort of scuffle but never a stabbing or homicide. >> reporter: we notice this is a busy area for tourists so we showed a couple the surveillance area. >> it's scary because there's so many people here from all over the place. >> reporter: she's not seen in the video, the man had a female accomplice. >> both african-american, female is 5'8" stribed as either have braids or long dread locks in eye pony tail. they are asking businesses to check surveillance videos from february 18th to see if they might have images of the pair. in san francisco, abc 7 news. >> a burglar broke into the home of a sheriff's deputy and stole

his gun and star. it happened yesterday in the city's visitation valley neighborhood. took two magazine clips and radio and duty belt. the gun and ammunition were secured in a lock box but the entire box was stolen. another star belonging to a san francisco police officer was also taken. 8:05 is our time. a santa clara police officer in the news this morning. tyson green has been fencing stolen car parts for years, accused of possessing tens and thousands of dollars of car parts related to a chop shop. katie tells us if green is convicted, he could face more than five years in prison. >> officer tyson green has been a santa clara police officer for 14 years. he lives in los gatos and the district attorney's office says he's been dealing in stolen car parts. >> four chevrolet camaro engines were recovered associated with

the suspect, green. >> authorities found more than a dozen car computers and parts are worth $75,000. an auto theft task force began investigating green last january when a local man tried to buy a ka marrow engine on craigs list and became suspicious and called law enforcement. all of the parts are from stolen cars taken from across the bay area over the past two years. >> any time we have a person from law enforcement who we've entrusted -- public has entrusted to protect, serve its incredibly disappointing to see an individual in that community let the community as a whole down. >> reporter: the police chief released a statement, this is not a true reflection of the hard working men and women of this department that serve and protect our community. but officer green's arrest follows two others last year. in may thomas lie pelt was arrested for exposing himself to a store employee.

and officer nguyen was arrested for allegedly shoplifting a watch from a san jose target store. abc 7 news. >> now to an abc 7 news iteam follow-up. last year a marin county gym owner used fake military medals to get money for his business. dan's exclusive investigation landed allen in court yesterday. allen pleaded not guilty. gary williams was one of several real war vets in court. >> i know a lot of people that have earned a lot of awards, paid a heavy price for them. and this guy is just a fraud. >> allen is facing a year in jail and $100,000 fine. a service disruption on b.a.r.t. this weekend. the trap tracks closed for

repairs. there will be a bus bridge today and tomorrow and trains should be back on track for the monday commute. oakland's cathedral of christ the life is warning parishioners to allow extra time to get to easter services if they plan to use b.a.r.t. >> an easter miracle for some san francisco nuns. motivational speaker toni rob bins bought a new building for french nuns facing eviction from the soup kitchen and paid $750,000 for a building down the street from the 16th street b.a.r.t. station. robbins stepped forward in february to prevent the eviction. the nuns say this is god's blessing. robbins will also help them find a new place to live. >> weatherwise, finally starting to warm up a little bit today. >> in some spots. we're looking at cool 40s around san ramon. but this is a live look outside. in san francisco it's 52

welcome back, everyone, we're taking a live look at the golden gate bridge this morning. some news for you, the golden gate bridge, a personal vehicle access to the welcome center parking lot of the south end of the bridge sbels the vista point parking lot at the north end of the bridge between 11:00 and 5:00 today, people can be dropped off by tour or taxi or ride sharing. the goal is to get more people through without slowing others down. old time raiders are -- researchers found number 12 had a moderate to severe case of cte, linked to the repeated

costco is taking the next step in transitioning from american express to citi bank for its store credit card. wall street journal is reporting that costco will begin shipping the new cards to warehouse club members in may, a month before the contract with amex runs out on june 20th. american express had a 16-year relationship with costco before losing the contract last year. current costco credit card members don't need to apply for the new card. 8:17 the time. no rain in the forecast, right? >> there isn't but we have snow in the forecast. that's interesting and cooling temperatures as we get towards easter and certainly on monday. here's a look at live doppler 7 hd. you can see fog at the left hand side of the screen. low clouds and fog tonight. as for right now and today, live doppler 7 hd not detecting cloud cover. it is very clear out there but we are watching this upper level system piece of energy will drop

week. 76 in sacramento. 65 in monterey with upper 60s in yosemite, it's been breezy in southern california. and that will continue with 76 in los angeles. look at the highs in reno and tahoe, 50s and 60s but only in the 30s by monday afternoon. there's that cold system dropping down into the mountains, we'll take anymore snow we can get. as far as rainfall for the bay area, doesn't look likely. san jose, 73 today with advertised in the upper 60s. monday, notice another five degrees of cooling and slow recovery from tuesday, wednesday into next friday. so highs today in the south bay looking pleasant with 73, santa clara, 72 in milpitas andny veil, upper 50s and breezy in the afternoon towards san mateo. pacifica, 63. san francisco, above average, by about 3 degrees. 66 today and slightly warmer

the new fit bit fit nis trackers are very pop up lar but some say they cause terrible rashes. michael finney investigate and 100 new complaints have been filed over the past year. >> he wanted to be sure he was getting enough exercise. >> how many calories you burn and how many steps. >> reporter: the fit bit charge activity tracker was a great motivator until it gave him a rash. >> it gets irritated and turns red and leaves a bruce mark.

>> reporter: he bought the fit bit surge and that gave him a rash too. >> i bought two and have the same thing happening. >> reporter: i loved it when i first got it. she used the fit bit charge and said she got a rash as well. >> yellow and started bleeding. >> reporter: they are among scores of users claiming the latest fit bit models caused an itchy burning reaction. we filed more than 100 complaints. >> i feel like in needed to be more safety. >> reporter: an online search found even more complaints and photos like these on twitter. this user saying, fitbit surge has given me a rash. any fixes? and horrible painful rash. any advice? >> basically all i want it for some answers forfe fit bit to ce forward. >> reporter: fitbit recall the popular force after thousands of

users broke out in burning rashes, it reduced nickel and adhesives that can contact the skin, two culprits suspected of causing reaction but now continuing reports of skin irritation. >> the company should take a look at it and find out what's going on. >> the company has responded to each complaint on the cpse website with the same answer saying in part fitbit is aware skin irritation affects a very limited number of consumers who use wearable devices all day and all night from sweat or water or soap. fitbit tells customers to wear it loosely and not all the time. users say that defeats the purpose and doesn't help. >> i followed every safety pri caution but to have these blisters coming up. >> fitbit offered her a refund and refunded dell vin for both trackers, fitbit telling us as user base grows we expect the number of reports of skin irritation to grow even though the overall incident rate

300 wounded. this morning, authorities confirming they are hunting for this man, a syrian, who is very dangerous and possibly armed. he's believed to be involved in the paris and brussels attack, the two clearly linked after it was revealed that the airport suicide bomber on the left is believed to be the bombmaker who made the explosives for paris where his dna was found in the aftermath. eyewitness video showing the full power of the explosives. fires ignited and debris everywhere and sign of screams. the manhunt also focusing on two other people, the third man at the airport and the hat and tan jacket and departures and another man seen a long the suicide bomber at the metro station as he boarded a train. isis has claimed responsibility and in a new video with belgian

the region tomorrow and the temperatures coolest on monday. so here's a look at that temperature profile for you tomorrow. notice the yellows, that's the 70s, they push a little further into the sacramento valley and the greens here representing the 60s. that's our beginning of our cooldown but by monday, we're all in the 60s except for the coast, even the 50s there. you'll notice the breezy winds and a little bit of cloud cover by tuesday not much change. we're still in this cooler air mass and then things begin to rebound. as for today, we're well above average, about 5 degrees above average in the south bay, 73 in san jose. 72 in milpitas, 70 in menlo park and 71 in los gatos. san francisco, 66, some low clouds by the later afternoon in daly city. 72 petaluma and sonoma, 71 by the water in vallejo. our near east bay, low 70s for
