yesterday to demand the resignation of their prime minister after his offshore financial dealings were exposed. more on the details from abc's terry moran. >> reporter: it started here, just a nondescript law firm in panama. but the secrets leaked from inside. even edward snowden calling it, "the biggest leak in the history of data journalism." the law firm helped clients set up complex webs of shell corporations and tax shelters. those can be used legally, but -- >> we have a system here that provides cover for every form of wrongdoing you can think of. >> reporter: russian president vladimir putin, he's not named specifically in the documents, but has long-faced accusations of corruption. critics pointing to his $750,000 watch collection and the $1 billion palace allegedly being built for him. among world leaders also named in the so-called panama papers -- the king of saudi arabia, syrian president bashar al assad, the president of argentina, who hosted president obama last month and the prime minister of iceland. watch him as he's confronted here by an interviewer about a company he co-owned with his

after a white house meeting with nato secretary-general, the president said nato continues to be the cornerstone of u.s. security policy as well as a critical ally in the fight against terrorism. but the president refrained from naming trump and ignored a reporter's question about that candidate. the obama administration is considering whether federal aid to north carolina should be cut off following the passage of that controversial law restricting lgbt protections. the law has drawn criticism from other states and company who's do business in north carolina. among other provisions it requires that students use bathrooms which match their sex at birth. a manhunt is under way in northwest florida for two prison escapees. they were in a private prison transport van when they disappeared. one is wanted for violation of probation for robbery and escape. the other has warrants for larceny charges. well another baseball season is under way.

toilet brush holder. >> that's a smart idea. >> that's going to give you that scent but also going to give you extra cleaning power when you do a quick scrub of your toilet. if you have kids, you don't want to use cleaning products. you don't want to have them out where they would be accessible to them. spritz dish soap or hand so in there or vinegar or whatever you have. but that gives you an extra little boost right there. >> good job. >> always, always, always ask yourself, could this go in the dish washer? okay. >> yes, still like this. >> not that. this can't go. >> that would be super gross. sorry. but other things can like your toothbrush holder. okay? sometimes these get super nasty. you want to you know, you might need to scrub it. just stick it in your dishwasher if it's dishwasher safe. not everything is. this is like decorative glass aware you have in your kitchen. >> can go in the dish washer. >> if it's dishwasher safe, find a way to stick it in the dishwasher. if you are out of paper towels, don't worry about it you can use newspapers to clean windows or

delegates. the latest wisconsin polls so bernie sanders with a slight edge. it's within the margin of error so it's a virtual tie. reena, kendis. >> thanks to megan there. the other major story we're following this morning is the crash of a sight seeing helicopter in tennessee, all five people on board were killed when the chopper went down near the great smoky mountains park. abc's diane macedo is joining us now from the newsroom. >> good morning to you. the faa is launching an investigation into what made this helicopter go down. time lapse videos shows the moment of impact. you can see clear blue skies, then suddenly thick black smoke emerging from the trees. he investigators found no sign of life. >> there's not much life. the helicopter's pretty well consumed in the fire. >> reporter: the victims were on a sight seeing tour, an activity tuft popular are tourists. this isn't the first time it's ended badly.

in 1996, a copter crashed in a field. six years before that, another into a nearby mountain leaving the pilot with critical injuries. a aviation expert is warning people to be careful as their safety record isn't great. a number of things can go wrong. we'll have to wait to see what the faa say about what it go wrong in this case. >> thank you. we're going to get another update in our next half hour. new details this morning from the investigation into sunday's deadly train accident south of philadelphia. officials say the train was going 106 miles per hour when it you can have a backhoe that was on the same track. the speed limit in the area is 110 miles an hour. the train's engineer applied the emergency brake five seconds before the backhoe was struck killing two workers. today, investigators will be interviewing work crew members who witnessed the accident. from the great lakes to the northeast, it looks and feels as if winter is back. not only are the temperatures

garages were partially damages. smoke filled the air as crews battled the blaze. >> a rescue from a burning apartment in chattanooga caught on a police officer's body cam. now, police were at the apartment complex on another call when a resident reported smoke inside an apartment. they found a burning pot on stove and a man lying unconscious on a couch who had fallen asleep while cooking. one of the officers pulled that man to safety. >> another milestone stemming from the worst oil disaster in u.s. history six years after the bp oil spill. a judge granted final approval for $20 billion settlement. the money will be paid to the u.s. five states and local governments. but environmental groups are angry that much of it will be tax deductible for bp. the company had already reached a similar settlement with businesses and residents. the offshore explosion killed 11 workers and caused 134 million gallons of oil to spill into the gulf of mexico. parts of the keystone oil

pipeline shut down. there may be a leak in south dakota. a farmer reported finding oil on the ground. crews are digging down to the pipeline to find the source that have oil. residents wonder why the hi-tech detection systems didn't report the problem. that part of the pipeline will remain shutdown for the rest of the week. all right. as we mentioned at the start of the show, villanova is the new champion of men's college basketball. the wildcats were facing north carolina last night in houston and fell behind trailing by five at halftime. >> but in the second half, villanova got hot. building a lead over their own. the tar heels clawed back into down into the stretch. marcus tied the game at 74. on an incredible three-point shot less than five seconds to play. on the final possession of the play, chris jenkins nailed the championship winning three-pointer as time expired. >> that was a big shot. that's one i'll remember

impact video, a teenager faces serious charges after leading police in oregon on a high speed chase. the end of that chase captured on this video as the stolen ford skids across the interstate before heading into the opposite direction. the 15-year-old behind the wheel was finally arrested when he put his hand in the air and got out of the truck. well, questions of financial propriety are being raised here at home over the soaring costs of america's most popular prescription drugs that treat art right, cholesterol and asthma. >> new analysis finds major drug companies have more than doubled the price of four of the nation's top ten drugs.

>> reporter: new data suggests martin cell little the bad boy of pharmaceuticals who boosted the cost of a drug by 5,000% isn't the only pharmaceutical executive now accuses after hiking prices. what do you say to your critics to people who say you're just being greedy? >> i think they have a fundamental misunderstanding of the way pharmaceutical companies operate. >> reporter: four of the nation's top ten drugs have increased more than 100% since 2011 based on a new reuters analysis. the price hikes show up across a variety of commonly used medicines, even nexium is up 54%. why? >> in the united states, there is nothing to stop a drug company from picking any price they want. >> reporter: when reuters shared its findings with the eight companies that sell the top ten drugs, some of the companies explained they set prices to recoup investments in failed drugs, support new research and pay for clinical trials.

this crash in tennessee's smoky mountains. the local police chief called it the worst helicopter crash he's seen but it's hardly the first to happen in this area. >> this morning investigators are searching for clues after what looked like a perfect day for flying ended in tragedy. time lapse video shows the crash of the tour helicopter. suddenly a thick plume of black smoke emerging from the trees. first responders is found no sign of life. >> there's not much left. the helicopter's pretty well consumed in the fire. >> reporter: hours later, be crews were still at the screen battling the fire. >> the fire had gone all the way across the top of the mountain up there. the fire departments from around the county have been be fighting that fire trying to get it under control. so it's right now it's a pretty smoky place. >> reporter: the owner of smoky mountain helicopters says the victims were on one of the company's sight seeing tours an activity popular are tourists but not always safe. in 1996, another company's helicopter crash landed in a pigeon forge field.

six years before, a helicopter crashed into a mountain leaving the pilot with critical injuries. >> when people sign up to fly in these helicopters, it's not the same thing as getting on an airliner to fly across the country. the safety record is not the same. >> reporter: that was aviation consultant steve ganyard. he advises people if you are going to take these tours be sure to get on a helicopter that's well maintained and flown by good pilots. as for today's crash, he says these were idea did weather conditions to fly which often points to mechanical failure. we'll have to wait to hear from the faa to know for sure senator thank you. we're going to turn our focus to politics and votes are heading to the polls in wisconsin poised to deliver a verdict that could reset the race for the white house. >> of a week of setbacks, donald trump is trailing ted cruz in the polls. a big loss today would greatly reduce his chances of clinching the nomination before the gop convention. so he brought out his wife to

now the cold temperatures gripping more than a dozen states. police say that the snowy weather was probably a factor in this head-on crash near rochester, new york. a passenger van crossed the center line and hit a car setting off a chain reaction. the driver of the first car killed. sunday 6.5 inches of snow shattered the record for that date. little league in michigan's upper peninsula is being delayed more than a foot of snow there. snow is not unknown in early april but this much is unusual. but no snow days for the kids. can you believe that? >> yeah. interesting. >> it's because school is off all week. >> that's why. good to know. so here's the deal. the national forecast, there's a mix of rain and snow in the upper midwest today. unseasonably cold there. in the northeast, there may be thunderstorms this evening from kansas to illinois. >> temperatures will only reach into the 40s near the great lakes, only the 30s and 40s in the ohio valley. highs in the 80s across the gulf coast and pushing for 90s in the southwest. and speaking of weather, we're getting our first look at

a killer tornado that ripped through northern illinois a year ago. forecasters had said any tornados would miss this house. the homeowner wasn't that confident. but the house didn't have much of a basement. nowhere to hide. the man taking video survived. his wife did not. look at the power of mother nature there as you see that tornado barreling towards the house. insane. >> incredible. it was a text book emergency procedure but officials say a united airlines flight attendant deployed the evacuation chute after the jet reached the gate in houston and slid down it. it's not known why. all know in the video she appears quite calm as she collects her bag and walks away. plane had to be taken out of service so another could be installed. united says the attendant has been "removed from her flying duties." >> that's a relief. a milestone for workers in
