it's so gorgeous at the coast right now. take a look. this is a live look at santa cruz beach board walk. plenty of team are enjoying the warm day, in the mid 80s there today. meteorologist sandhya patel is here with a detailed look at the hot pex. >> they have the right idea at the beach. let me show you the records. so far these are not the official highs for the day. downtown oakland, 91. previous record was 86. so we broke the previous record of 1986. gilroy, 93. a new record for today. here are some of the highs so far in other parts of the bay area. san francisco, richmond, 87. 88 in santa rosa. san jose, redwood city, half moon bay, all reaching 88 degrees. live doppler 7 hd, changes are under way. high clouds coming in from the south.

wind shifts result in dramatic changes here in the bay area. i'll detail those coming up. >> thanks so much. whether it was record heat or near record heat, people around the bay area got a good taste of summerlike weather today. david louie is live in san jose where david got very close to hitting an all-time high for this date. >> reporter: dan, the temperature on the sign here indicates that it is currently -- i'll have to get it here -- 89 degrees. well, about an hour ago, fs up to 90. but it's been down right uncomfortable for the young, the old, and everyone in between. you have to feel for students here. they're in class this week where only some classrooms have ear conditioning. these students are on spring break and heading to santa cruz beach. beating the heat is all about being prepared.

early tee time. >> just slow down your pace a little bit. don't walk as fast and you have beverages. so that helps. >> reporter: in san jose, david louie, "abc7 news." starting tonight, security guard also be patrolling the area around san jose city hall in an effort to stop graffiti vandals. vanldales struck as recently as monday. surveillance video shows some of the vandals in action. tax scammers have targeted stanford university. they filed returns in the names of stanford staff and faculty. at least 23 cases have been reported with more expected as the tax deadline approaches. university police are working with irs to investigate. >> >> new developments tonight in a story we've been following for you very closely. for the first time the san francisco district attorney's office is explaining why it did

not charge a man before the fbi got to a raid last friday. this is the same man being beaten by deputies. melanie woodrow has the details. >> reporter: "abc7 news" confirmed that a man shot outside the home prior to the raid has died. it's unclear what if any connections it has to do with what is now become a homicide investigation. what is clear tonight is that both were previously arrested at the home but never charged. for the first time, the san francisco d.a.'s office is saying why. >> fbi, move from the door! >> reporter: before fbi agents raided this home friday, neighbors said they heard gunshots overnight. >> i heard four gunshots. >> reporter: a hospital spokesperson confirms christopher passed away.

fbi sources say it's unclear what if any connection petrov and this woman have to the shooting. fbi agents arrested petrov and the woman friday night. the warrants remain sealed but court documents from a march raid at the same home reveal more. in this video obined by "abc7 news," you can see fbi and sfpd raiding the home march 8. according to court documents, they were arrested in connection with controlled substances and a firearm. the san francisco district attorney's office did not charge either. a spokesperson now says the arrest on march 8 were part of an ongoing federal investigation. due to the nature of that investigation, we did not receive evidence in a timely manner to support the allegations. and as a result, we discharged the case. 3 1/2 weeks later, that overnight shooting, a man now

dead, and two people in federal custody. their connection to his death unknown. in san francisco, melanie woodrow, "abc7 news." a third man is under arrest for stealing a scooter donated to make a wish foundation by hunter pence. 35-year-old jacks mann was arrested yesterday afternoon. two other suspects were arrested on monday. they were accused of breaking into the offices saturday and taking the scooter along with many other items. the scooter was recovered when police served a search warrant. listen to this, someone with a sword stabbed a man this morning in san francisco's tenderloin neighborhood. the 56-year-old victim was standing in front of his apartment building when a man walked up to him and stabbed him in the stomach just before 3:00 this morning. he is going to be okay we're told.

no arrests have been made. police are looking for this man. 22-year-old charles justice. he's accused of a robbery yesterday afternoon. he then led officers on a high speed chase. officers stopped the chase because he began driving into oncoming traffic. after a lot of waiting and hoopla, b.a.r.t.'s fleet of the future is here. get used to that. that's the sound of the new morn from b.a.r.t.'s new train cars, the first to be delivered to the agency. 775 of them are on order to replace what b.a.r.t. claims is the oldest fleet of rail vehicles in the country. the rail cars are being built in upstate new york and will be delivered cross country at a rate of 16 per month. the new cars will undergo six months of rigorous testing before they enter service in december. >> this train is going to knock

workplace health standards on modeling agencies, including treating and preventing eating disorders. >> 47% of girls in 5th to 12th grade reported wanting to lose weight because of magazine pictures. >> the models would have to get a doctor to certify they don't suffer from any eating disorders. the bill still has to make it out of committee. the obama administration announced new rules today. >> michael finney tells us exactly what this is. >> when you go to a financial adviser, how do you know you're getting good advice? new rules require that add visors act in the best interest of their clients. that means advisers must recommend investments best for the retiree, not the ones that earn the advisers the most money.

up until now, it was legal to recommend funds that pay higher commissions, even if they were bad for their clients. under the new rules, they must provided a vice most beneficial to the client. honda owners across the country lit up social media complaining they were charged twice for their april car payments. the computer glitch at honda financial services caused the double payment. some customers said the mistake caused overdraft on bank accounts. many complained they could not get through the customer service. the company did not say how many accounts were affected. but it's working urgently to correct the glitch and refund those extra payments. domino's pizza wants to make it super easy to order a pizza some say a little too easy. forget one click. domino's is offering zero click ordering. down lode an app, enter your credit card address and favorite

oven. it's close to 90 degrees out here still. t behind me, you're seeing some clouds. we'll start off with where the clouds are coming from. they're coming in from the south. fog rolls in and temperatures are going down. you can see the clouds filtering the sun right now. that is still pretty warm, upper 80s from san francisco, oakland, san jose. 84 degrees at half moon bay. a beautiful picture, sunshine from the south beach camera as we look out towards the bay where it's in the upper 80s around santa rosa. here is a live picture from our mt. tam cam. much cooler tomorrow. further cooling is expected into the weekend and a chance of showers friday with a better likelihood on saturday. look at the temperature trend for livermore.

heat relief is coming. tomorrow, 73 degrees, even though you were very warm today, coming down closer to average over the weekend you'll drop down below average for this time of year. here's a look at why. there's a system to the southwest. that's going to continue to send up clouds but it will also mean it's going to send us the fog. tomorrow morning's commute includes fog along the coastline. wind coming in from the south will push in clouds. so temperatures go down. tomorrow morning, mostly in the 50s. we'll see the clouds, the fog, inland areas mild and for the afternoon, notice the drop in the numbers. it's going from 88 to 73 in san jose. trust me, you'll notice tomorrow afternoon. 74 in gilroy, 72 in santa clara. santa cruz, 66 degrees. 69 in san mateo. 63 pacifica, daley city. downtown san francisco, 66

degrees. clouds will be filtering the sun in the north bay. low 70s for santa rosa, napa. east bay, upper 60s. oakland, beshgy, hercules, newark, inland spots 72 in concord. 76 degrees in antioch. we introduce our storm impact scale. one is a light system, five is severe. we've been using this all winter. friday and saturday, we have a light system, scattered light showers expected up to a quart ever inch. isolated spots with half an inch. friday afternoon going into friday evening, a chance of showers and really looks like a better possibility like i said saturday morning going into the afternoon. and we'll keep it at a slight chance for sunday morning. as far as rainfall totals, most of the bay area will get between a quarter and half often inch.
