arrests in this case. a public hooting battled a neighborhood. apparent murder suicide happened in rodeo. >> that happened around 2:30, but just minutes ago nearly four hours later that investigators cleared the crime scene and took down the tape. this was an active crime scene. investigators are saying it appears to be a murder suicide between a girlfriend and boyfriend. the female victim was shot first according to investigators and the man turned the weapon on himself. i spoke with a lieutenant today. >> we're dispatched to a possible shots fired call and found two people on the street.

and is being investigated as a murder suicide. >> you're looking at video of a car that is one of two vehicles from the scene. just minutes ago i spoke with a woman who is frantic and said she believed the female victim might be her niece. she was too upset to speak. you may notice firefighters cleani cleaning what is left from this apparent murder suicide. >> there are fond memories from the family of a man shot to death in oakland. he shared these picture.

one photo shows him with his family. >> they're all devastated by the loss of somebody so kind, interesting and friendly. >> he left this bar saturday night and walked more than a mile and a half toward home. police say he was shot and killed a block from reaching his home. detectives are hoping to find clues. >> a san francisco political consultant was sentenced for having bomb making equipment in a toxin in his home. he will be on probation. he was the subject of a manhunt two years ago and said he was

suffering from depression and never meant to harm the public. >> police are looking into a fatal hit and run that they hope will lead them to the driver. police say a 27-year-old autistic man left an adult group home and laid down on a highway. a driver avoided him but another driver hit and killed him. >> it's entirely possible he was unaware he hit a human being. and entirely possible we're dealing with nothing more than a horrible accident. >> police say the driver might have thought he or she hit a deer. >>. a town hall meeting in san francisco got very heated

the police chief says witnesses confirm accounts that a 45-year-old had a knife pointed upwards and says officers felt threatened. supervisor david campos, however, lashed out at the chief. >> how can you say it's an independent investigation when you're saying this is what we believe happened? >> i have given the facts from interviews. >> you're prejudging. >> rising rents is a hot button issue. community groups shared fear was city council members as the counsel considers changes to the apartment rental laws. chris nguyen is live with the latest.
