emergency shelters after a powerful earthquake killed at least nine people in japan. you can see some of the damage caused by the 6.5 earthquake. it struck near kuamato city about 800 miles southwest of taio cruz. japanese soldiers are assisting residents in the hardest hit areas. a little boy is safe after being abducted and police continue to hunt for the thief who stole a car belonging to the boy's father. sky 7 hd shows us where the car was found abandoned inside a shed. jacob vargas was unharmed. you see him there. the boy ordeal began when his father left the family car running with the boy inside in soledad this morning. someone drove off with the vehicle and police activated an amber alert. police need your help to catch a robber who targeted a 70-year-old woman. this is surveillance images of a blue ford pickup that they're trying to find. the man grabbed a bag as he

raised $12 million. the shuttle was hoping to expand out by the bay area. international criminals are stealing one of california's largest crops, nuts. they hack into a database, set up fake trucking pickups and pick up the nuts. last year, nut thefts got $4.6 million. a stunt to stop a gas powered leaf blower ban is getting attention. car salesman jerry marino strapped a leaf blower to the top of his car and went through town. a petition was even walked in on a miniature horse. he's upset the issue didn't go before voters. the ban could be suspended if

the warriors begin their quest for back-to-back nba titles this saturday afternoon when they host the rockets. they met last year in the western conference finals with golden state winning four games to one. the rockets were supposed to be a title contender but barely made the playoffs, qualifying on the final day of the regular season. the warriors know houston can be a problem. >> you can't go in thinking just because we beat them last year in five games that it's going to be, you know, anything similar. if we play our a-game and are locked in and focused mentally, i think we'll be all right. >> the giants not only lost to the rockies today but sergio romo has been put on the disabled list with an elbow injury. out to coors field where it appears santa is a giants' fan. colorado took control with a nine-run fifth.
