>> it's saturday, april 16th. thanks for joining us. i'm chris nguyen. let's start with a first look at the forecast. here's meteorologist lisa argen tracking live doppler hd for us. hi, lisa. >> hi, chris. there's nothing on live doppler 7hd. we are looking at clear conditions and a wind shift that will allow for a warming trend to get underway. really get more established today as high pressure builds into the west coast. and that's going to allow for temperatures to climb today. numbers will be above average, but wait until you see tomorrow's outlook. here's a look at mount the tam. isn't this so nice with the sun coming up. it's 6:32. numbers are in the mid-40s morgan hill. 55 downtown. and another vantage point from the sutro tower camera.

looks nice and glassy there but the winds of breezy in the upper elevations. mid-40s and finally from pier15, the exploratorium camera, notice we are in the 40s and 50s to start out. 70s, though, around the bay and inland by noontime. upper 70s around emeryville with about 83 in napa by 4:00. look at the cooling trend getting going after the low 70s at our beaches at the coast. chris. >> lisa, thank you. this morning a salvage crew will work to toe a car that plummeted 100 feet off a cliff along grizzly peek boulevard last night. it happened just before 10:00 p.m.. the car went over the side of grizzly peek near park drive close to an overlook near the park.

rescuers found no one in the vehicle when they repelled down from the roadway. they heard a loud screech and watched the cargo over the cliff t cart wheeled down the hillside. >> saw the car spin and i thought, whoa, that car is going to roll-off the hill and then it rolls off the hill. >> authorities aren't sure where the driver went after the accident or if that person was injured in the wreck. for the second night in a row a police chase from oakland to contra costa county ended with an accident. it started yesterday along highway 13 in oakland before 8:00 p.m. the officers said they tried pulling over a red mercedes sedan for missing license plates when the driver took off. a chp helicopter followed the car to pittsburgh where police in that city used spike strips to disable the car. the driver then ran and unsuccessfully tried carjacking another car near highway 4. suspect was arrested by police. >> next in the race for the white house. hillary clinton had a high profile fundraiser with high profile guests but it also attracted several protesters. we have the story.

>> here's a brief glimpse of george clooney leaving the fundraiser. and inside this silver s.u.v. democratic presidential candidate hillary clinton. the event, held at this nob hill home, attracted dozens of demonstrators. they were mostly bernie sanders supporters. the senator had called the fund razors and others like it obscene because of the amount of money ponied up. it's an opinion his supporters marry order. >> $355,000 is what they are charging now to have a seat at the table with hundred hillary clinton was part of the fundraiser. you can't buy a people here for $355,000. it's incredible. >> sanders campaign released this ad here. sanders touched down in rome for a conference at the vatican and urged people to reject what he called an immoral economy.

mark noble said he's taking his car in for service next week. i asked him if the video changed his mind about going to audi palo alto. >> probably not, but i'll ask them about it. >> he said he's always had good service there. in palo alto, abc7 news. deputies in marin evacuate add campground at hilllan beach after a fire started in the dunes nearby. they blocked several roads so firefighters could do their job. campers were also taken to the beach for safety. investigators say the cause is suspicious. witnesses saw people running from the scene but no one was hurt. the red cross have put up dozens of people in the south bay after an apartment fire there. sky 7hd was over the twin pines manor apartments in sunnyvale as smoke poured out of the building yesterday afternoon. two people went to the hospital. more than 30 people were evacuated. some had to climb down ladders to get out. firefighters saved several pets. sunnyvale dps showed this picture showing a reunion. san jose place are looking

for two suspects who violently attacked a store clerk. [inaudible] >> on march 8th police said two men ran into the quick stop and taqueria. the man in the red bandana you see here assaulted the clerk and demanded money. after a heated ebbs change the man shot the clerk. police said the clerk will survive. the golden state warriors now stand alone with 73 wins! >> after a big win, the warriors final run officially kicks off this afternoon on abc7. the preshow starts at noon and warrior fans can't wait. abc7 news reporter leslie brinkley shows us the excitement from pleasanton. >> warriors! >> it's starting. the energy is going up in saturday afternoon in homes and bars all over northern

reunion. dan ashley has the story. >> an enormous hug for little zachary jordan smith. san francisco police released this photo of a happy ending to a frantic search across the bay, a family reunion made possible by a vigilant woman. >> i said, lord give me favor right now. clear this freeway so i can get the kid. when the freeway cleared up, i ran across and i grabbed him. >> alice spotted him in san francisco trying to cross i-280. zachary traveled on bart all wait to concord more than 30 miles away. the mood was a lot more somber earlier in the afternoon when his parents joined volunteers and police to search for him after he sneaked out of school in concord. >> it's heart-wrenching. i can't imagine if chloe was missing. s but as the search was about to begin in earnest, this call came in over the radio. , we are on the phone with the pd and they found him.

>> mom got to talk to him on the phone. >> i'm glad you are safe, baby, i'm glad you are safe, okay? >> it was all thanks to alice who helped zachary off the san francisco freeway. i said are you lost? he said, yes, i'm lost. i say where do you live? he mentioned a street i never heard of and he mentioned concord. i said concord, how did you get here? he said bart. i said so you are missing? okay, i'm going to get you safe and i'll promise you i'm going to get you to your parents. >> when alice called police, sergeant lisa springer responded, and it just so happens sergeant springer knows the missing boy. her own son, also named zachary, went to preschool with him. >> the stars aligned today. that's all. i'm so happy. >> and that was abc7 news anchor dan ashley reporting. the once-missing boy and his family are back in the east bay together thanks to their effort. school officials are trying to figure out how zachary managed to slip out of school without being noticed. >> the chia pet is going back to its roots. tomorrow the mexican museum is having an exhibit on the

46 in santa rosa. 44 the cool spot in napa. but one of the warmest the spots today into the low 80s. so maybe 35, 36 degrees of warming on the way for you in the napa valley. 45 in novato, 55 by the delta with the wind shift already. concord upper 40s. and those winds come out of the north, northeast and the higher elevations allowing for that rapid warmup today. 17 crease it warmer by the delta. 11 degrees warmer in antioch and livermore you are beginning your day warmer as well as concord and not much change elsewhere. san francisco, the 55 is warmer. the isn't this a nice view as we check out mt. tam. sonoma is warmer with the down sloping winds. sunny and warmer today. the sea breeze still intact but managing the 70s at our coast. sunny and warmest tomorrow and then gradual cooling. maybe a few sprinkles tuesday night. also the end of the work week. we could see a little bit of rain. so we go through the morning

landslides, started fires and damaged roads. a 6.5 earthquake in the same area on thursday killed ten people, bringing the total number of dead from the two earthquakes to 29. and this video shows one of several powerful aftershocks today. one said the first earthquake was shocking and now people are just terrified. crews are looking for any survivors in the rubble. in a historic move to week the u.s. army approved 22 women to combat positions. 13 will be armored officers and 9 approved for the infantry. the move comes before defense secretary ash carter announced in september the military had to strike down gender barriers. now to the growing outrage after a video was released showing two adults showing to paddle a five-year-old child t happened at an elementary school in

wondering if the warriors can go unbeaten in the playoffs. the warriors worked out yesterday at their practice facility. public perception has changed a lot since last season when they won their first nba title in 40 years. now golden state is the odds-on favorite to win it all. >> the last year, even though we won 67 games, we were the one-seed and people still wondered if we could get it done. but it's a different feel, a different dynamic. but still have to win 16 games. the rockets, a chance of an upset? if so, james harden will likely be the key. he joins them as the only players to average 29 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds in a season. he says bring on the warriors. >> you have to face them any ways no matter whether it's the first round or whenever. we have a great opportunity. a lot of people count us out and we have to go take it one game at a time.

degrees ever warming in some spots. we notice the trajectory of the cloud deck. this and well to the north. a big dome of high pressure builds in and the winds are shifting from a northerly component to a northeasterly component. look at all the sunshine here in san francisco. numbers have been sitting in the mid-50s downtown. 54 in oakland. ten degrees cooler in morgan hill. 45 there with 50 in san jose, 51 mountain view and half moon bay sitting at 50 degrees. we've had the upper elevation winds allowing for a warmer numbers out by the delta, antioch and the mid-and upper 50s with cool numbers from napa, novato and livermore 47. by tonight, though, we will have that warming throughout the afternoon. and the atmosphere will hold on to some of that warmth. we will probably be warmer tomorrow by, oh, a couple degrees. but look at the dramatic warming from fairfield to ability i don't think this morning 2002 to the upper elevation winds and the cool valleys. it's slightly cooler in novato.

from emeryville look at a blown out overexposed shot but with all the sunshine early you have to stop down on that lens to make a prettier picture for you. sunny and warmer today with the sea breeze at the coast. that will put you just around 69 in half moon bay. sunny and warmer tomorrow with the gradual cooling trend throughout the work week and in fact monday doesn't look that cool. look at the greens. then we go to yellow which means temperatures climbing through the 60s by 10:00. 72 for napa with 65 in san jose. then by the afternoon it's all about the warmth from the 80s in napa, 67 san jose, upper 60s in san francisco so the sea breeze already getting underway. clear and mild, 60s and 60s tonight but tomorrow as the offshore flow really gets going we will have upper 70s in the cities. so no sea breeze. that's shut off with half moon bay three or four degrees warmer. 85 concord and livermore. and by monday notice the orange
