abc7 news begins with breaking news. >> the break news, devastating music fans around the world. prince has died at age of 57. many of you saw him in oakland last month watching a warriors game as he concerned east new tour in the bay area. thank you for joining us. i am natasha zouves. >> i am reggie aqui. all the manager confirms he was found home at his home outside minneapolis, minnesota. >> eric thomas is in berkeley. >> he was born and raised in minnesota. we are waiting for a couple of

seconds to find out what the fans are doing today. here is what we know. he was inducted into the rock-n-roll hall of fame in 2004 and he had seven grammy awards and he was an incredible influence on popular music, part james brown, part hendrix, among his influences. he was one the few would could play all of the instruments on a song: song, base, key boards, guitar. he had the first hit believe it or not in 1979 with "i want to be your lover," 37 years ago. here is what a fan in berkeley had to say about the death at age vern. >> 57 seems so young. >> it is very young. i have a daughter that is 50 and i am like, wow...it is nowhere. he hasn't stepped out into life yet. he lived it to the fullest the he did a great job with what he was chosen to do. i know he will be missed.

valleys and most are from the low clouds bumping into the mountains where they some dropped their measurable drizzle. we have had drizzle and spotty showers. it has not been measurable in our reporting stations. the next six hours you can see we will have a chance of spotty drizzle and a stray shower or two. but become cooler and you will need the umbrellas and patience tomorrow morning and in the evening. more on that coming up. >> this morning, the commute was a mess especially in the east bay. investigators are putting together exactly what happened not just one, two, but three crashes that crippled the morning commute along i-80 and crockett. the video is from one of the crashes which was the deadly crash, a big-rig that slammed into several cars. we are at the medical center in walnut creek. amy? >> yes, the man with was killed was in his 20s and he was from

davis. two victims were property here to john muir medical center which has a trauma center so it is dire. you will not be surprised when the sue the ambulance they were traveling in. they do have major, major injuries but they are stable. that is not expected to change. >> look at this crumpled ambulance from the first crash on interstate 80 in crockett. this want the fatal crash. the second crash, a big rig into a white car. that was deadly. it happened two hours after the first crash. officers are try to figure out in one caused the other. the officers were working that investigation weapon the second collision came out. it is unknown what it s the mans slammed into a truck that slowed down because of construction in the area. the throw people in the ambulance were taken to the hospital. no patient was on board. they were en route to go to davis or another location. >> then the second crash. for cares and a big-rig. this all happened on eastbound

morning. firefighters called for extra help and crews raced to the scene from several neighborhoods in san francisco. no one was hurt. the near damaged at least two buildings. >> new this morning, four people are now under arrest after a commercial burglary in san francisco in the bayview district. sky 7 is over the auto repair at industrial street early this morning. that is where people arrested three of the four suspects. they ran here after take off from the first scene. they have not said where that scene is. one suspect was arrested. they captureed everyone involved later. >> in oakland, investigators trying to determine the cause of the deadly two-alarm fire that protect out in a wear husband near 66th avenue and coliseum way at 3:00 this morning. when the crews arrived, heavy flames remain shooting from the two story building ask when they when inside, that is where they newspaper the victim. >> a man stabbed his father in the south bay at the mill pop

mobile home park on mill stream drive at 9:00 p.m. yesterday. matt has the latest on the murder investigation. matt? >> yes, the neighbor said the suspect in this case would sit only porch and smoke cigarettes. he was friendly but now he is in jail facing homicide for killing his father. >> this quiets senior mobile home park tucked behind the communication hill in san jose was the scene of a fatal family dispute. police say last night, with his mother inside, man in his early 40s stabbed his father in his late 60s to death inside the home. the suspect never ran and waited outside where the officers arrested hip. police are not saying what led to the violence the neighbors say this is the first time they have ever heard of something like this happening here. >> four or five years ago there was a minor break in but...that habit. >> hearing this was a homicide? >> strange. but i am not worried. no. this is a pretty good
