live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> for first time we see the offensive text this former san francisco police officer is accused of sending. the messages target every category of race, culture and sexual orientation. i am christian. >> i am reggie aqui. >> san francisco public defender is holding a news conference on the just released text. they are so upsetting most we cannot show you on tv. our reporter is in the newsroom. they part of a larger investigation? >> that is right. they were discovered by citizen as part a san francisco police department into a sexual assault allegation against officer jason lai made by a woman last year.

their names are blocked in the document cnn obtained. a code is used to describe an encounter with a saturdayent "passive aggressive 528," and that is the code for a fire and cnn means that is used to describe gay officers as flaming. this is the second time in so many years the san francisco police department has been the subject of a texting scandal. the first prompted a review of 1,600 cases to see in there was bias policing. a dozen cases were tossed out. the district attorney said that hundreds of new cases may now need to be reviewed. >> the chief told cnn he has no tolerance for biased officer and is working to get the department to a "better place." today, a san francisco police department spokesman called them "old news." >> the police texting scandal along with shootings involving officers have activists calling

for the chief suhr and mayor lee to step down. protesters continue a hunger strike, some are in the 7th day of not eating. a rally is held outside the police station today at 5:30. police have threatened to arrest and cite protesters. berkeley police department relationship with the community will take center stage again at a meeting today. after the violence during the december 2014 black lives matter protest organizations made suggestions for police on how to grab practices. this is video from one of demonstrations. so far the department has added body cameras and developed a racial sensitivity training program. berkeley city council is calling a special meeting to discuss other possible updates starting at 5:30. >> neighbors are reacting to the bloody killings of a couple in their san jose home. the couple were found dead by friends on sunday. the police are looking for killer as they process

disturbing details about the crime scene. matt? >> yes, i checked with san jose police and they say homicide detectives have yet to make an arrest. at the white house, flowers have been placed in front of the garage, and neighbors say the rabbis were nice, kind and generous and looked out for everyone in the neighborhood. the bodies of golam and shamima rabbi were found on sunday, both slot at least once. it does not appear to be ran democrat. a group of grands entered the home when family had not heard from them in a few days. a message was written in ink on the floor "sorry, my first kill was clumsy." we spoke to several neighbors and the rabbis were good people who lived here a long-term. >> nice people. normal family. >> shocked to find out about the violent crime? >> absolutely. >> he was an engineer and his

wife was an accountant. the sons, ages 17 and 21 were not over over the weekend and people are not commenting on other details in the case. >> thank you. highway one is open in san mateo after a deadly accident that closed both directions for hours. the accident happened before 3:30 this morning on highway one near the devil's slide trail. c.h.p. officers say a driver lost control and got ejected. the man's body helped up in the middle of highway one. sky 7 was overhead before the road opened at 6:30, with no word on the cause of the driver to lose control. >> alameda police have arrested this man accused of shooting two store clerks over the weekend. the man faces attempted homicide charges. the shooting happened april 16. at park street. a worker told abc7 that the suspect vandalized the store with graffiti in the past.

the two victims suffered non-life threatening injuries. >> the search is underway for the man on crime wanted for a deadly shooting at a south san francisco park, 20-year-old christian omar cruz from a previous mug shot. he was seen running from the park carrying a gun after two men were shot yesterday afternoon. police found one man dead and another man was hurt. two schools and a community center were locked down while police were searching the area for cruz. >> police are investigating a woman busted by a nanny camera hitting and shaking a baby in her care. the officers went to the home on bordeaux court after being called bit parents of a ten-month-old girl yesterday. the paper told the officers they caught the nanny abusing their daughter. the police have arrested 23 -year-old from antioch and we are told she worked for the family for a few months. >> a mean social media account is getting police involved in an east bay high school after

tweets made fun of students' looks and made racial slurs and sexual comments. one student said that there may have been more fights because of the tweets. the school principal is taking action. >> it was announced that anyone was involved in the gossip page or connecting with it, they would be suspended and could be arrested. >> livermore police say they were asked to dispatch extra officers to campus in case the gossip sparked violence. >> two san francisco supervisors will hold a news conference to discuss growing safety concerns after fire break out at the same market building for the third time in less than two years. the fire department shared this video of the fire last night at 22nd and mission street. the building was declared unlivable after a raging fire in january of 2015. one person was killed and dozens were forced from their homes.
