cars. we know at least two other people have been hospitalized with injuries. all southbound lanes were shut down but it's since been reopened. it's not known why it was there in the first place. the game is a scavenger hunts and police are warning students not to play because of the dangers involved. leslie brinkley has more. >> there's like a scavenger hunt going on. >> reporter: students at alameda high school learned about it. so did school officials sending out al an e-mail blast warning parents. >> what we heard is it could involve drugs, sex, drinking, and even explosives. that's a very, very volatile combination. >> reporter: students plan to drive around recording themselves engaging in criminal activities and then posting them

online as proof. >> muggings, i've heard, and cops were being involved and teachers were telling kids to be concerned. >> clearly this would pose a grave physical students but also damage to their online reputations and college and career success. >> reporter: it included st. joseph along with other catholic high schools in berkeley and oakland. >> i just felt kind of scared wondering what are they going to do. >> reporter: the scavenger hunt was supposed to end friday at 10:30 a.m. >> i think it's a hoax. let's hope it a hoax. >> reporter: i'm leslie brinkley, a b bc 7 news. >> a family is recovering after their jet ski flipped over in pittsburgh. they were rescued at around 6:00 last night. thankfully everyone was wearing a life jacket. this picture is from east county

today.com. one adult and two children went to john meara medical center in walnut creek with mild hypothermia. a sex scandal involving oakland police has triggered a new policy. >> we will not tolerate criminal misconduct on the part of police officers. we will hold them accountable. we owe it to the residents of oakland. >> "abc7 news" was at oakland city hall where the police chief and mayor announced the district attorney will be alerted to any suspicions of wrongdoing by any of three officers. law enforcement sources say it involves the daughter of a police department dispatcher who may have been under age. the investigation started with the suicide of police officer brendan o'brien last year. he took his own life about a year after his wife's death was also ruled a suicide. there was initially some suspicion about her death. the officer's suicide notes said a series of events involving hi wife and work prompted him to take his own life.

the attorney representing the officers is withholding judgment until charges are filed. >> tragic if the district attorneys succumb to media pressure and don't make charging decisions based on evidence. >> the alameda county d.a. is conducting an independent investigation. the san francisco bicyclist who was injured after being hit by a police cruiser talked with abc 78 news. you can see the bicyclist being hit when the krierz pulled out. abc 7's reporter. >> reporter: you can see this collision clearly. he said he was hoping to might through the yellow light at second and mission. >> so all of a sudden -- and he didn't see me and we just collided like that. >> reporter: doyle was surprised his crash was caught on video. >> they were at fault, for sure. a, they had their blinker on go right stopped at the yellow and

the decided to pull over here and go this way. >> reporter: he spent the night in the hospital. he has a pretty big cut on his leg and a minor back injury but he was able to walk up stairs to show us his damaged bicycle. the san francisco police say the crash is still under investigation. they did confirm the police cruiser was not headed to an emergency call. the san francisco bicycle coalition says there could have been prevented. >> reporter: she says one of the best examples of a protected bike lane is on polk street near city hall. timothy doyle said he's not mad at the police. >> they shut the street down and it was kind of lucky in some respects. an amtrak train headed to oakland slammed into a pickup truck killing three people. it happened yesterday afternoon in a rural area near fresno. investigators believe the truck driver tried to go around a freight train that was stopped and didn't see the amtrak train

speeding toward it on the second set of tracks. the train split the truck in two. no one on board the train was injured. the city of pittsburgh may set up surveillance cameras along highway 4 to help stop a string of shootings there. there have been sit shootings along that stretch of the highway in the pittsburgh bay area since last june. the latest, a mother of four, died wednesday when another driver opened fire on her vehicle. the city's plan was to set up cameras at key city-owned or private locations at a cost of $1,000. santa clair ka prosecutors say they're trying to find a connection between an accused. that victim was found shot to death. a second victim was found inside a crashed car in campbell. the man accused in both crimes has now appeared in court. ac 7's katie marzullo has the story for us. >> reporter: they were in court as 53-year-old andre redman was charged with two counts of

murder. >> this is obviously a very disturbing crime. >> reporter: in new court documents sheriff's deputies say redman and an accomplice went into his home on wednesday armed and demand money. they encountered his adult son. they held a barrel of a handgun on his head and hit him several times with a mallet. they bound him around the wrists and ankles and mouth with duct type. when they came home, there was a fight followed by approximately six gunshots. investigators say he died of a gunshot wound to the head. >> this was a violent home invasion. >> reporter: witnesses say two men took off in a silver prius going more than 100 miles an hour. the prius crashed at hamilton avenue. redman tried to run but was caught. he was found with a bloody vest and a glove. his accomplice covered in blood in the car with a large laceration.

he dietd of a gunshot wound as a john doe. also in a prius, the apparent h to-do list. the first item, get more bullets, the second was to get the victim's address written on it. there was a big sinkhole. as cruise installed a new 36-inch sewer pipe that was shipped in from arizona. the 12 x 5'sinkhole nearly swallowed an uber car tuesday night. staff and students may have been exposed to chicken pox. the campus sent out a notice yesterday. three students have been diagnosed with chicken pox since april 23rd. students and staff who are pregnant or in contact with children are advised to caller this doctor. humpback whales have been spotted at baker beach in san francisco this week.

so here is our computer animation and you'll notice that the clouds begin to back off. by noontime we've got sun in the east bay and by noontime the southwest winds will be on the light side. but we'll get into fun around stinson beach. otherwise we'll have to wait a couple of weeks for significant warmup. here's san jose with today about 72. tomorrow behind the system. so despite the sunshine, we're in the low 70s. monday we recover into the upper 70s and low 80s should arrive by tuesday and wednesday. short-lived, though, because the cooldown will be dramatic come thursday. 72 therngs, for areas around los gat gatos. around peninsula, you'll see the mid and upper 60s by the afternoon. feeling that cool air, but at least you'll have some sunshine. 62 at half moon bay. partly cloudy there. 63, downtown san francisco. up in the north bay, you'll notice the yellows here indicating more 60s in sonoma.
