good friday morning. we have breaking news. egyptian military officials located debris from the plane. >> the paris to cairo flight vanished shortly after entering egyptian air space. the plane jerked to the left and made a circle to the right before going into the mediterranean sea. >> officials are hoping to get answers. abc is live in london for us. what do we know so far about this debris? >> good morning to you. we're just getting this information coming in from the egyptian armed forces in the form of app statement saying that search and rescue teams have found this morning belongings of the passengers as well as some parts of the wreckage of the plane north of alexandria, off the alexandria coast. search and rescue operations continue in that area.

we understand that military spokesmen also said that other countries are involved in this coordinated search and those include greece, france, the united kingdom, cypress and italy. this is a major rescue operation taking place. but again we have to emphasize that this is coming from the egyptian spokesman from the egyptian armed forces. you'll recall yesterday greek authorities said they had spotted debris in the water but later the egyptian -- egypt air vice president came out saying we stand corrected and that it wasn't part of the plane. today they're saying they have found some but we should be really careful about these reports. this latest statement comes more than 30 hours since that egyptair flight disappeared in the mediterranean. that's the latest we're getting on the search for that egyptair. >> all right. the breaking news update that
