>> good morning, everyone. i'm carolyn tyler. thanks for joining us on this sunday, may 22nd. let's start with a quick look at the weather with our meteorologist lisa argen. >> hi, carolyn. good morning. we have a lot of cloud cover. even some visibility issues right now. here's live doppler 7hd. you see the clouds over the bay area. there's an area of low pressure that will continue to influence our weather the next several days so we aren't quite done with some rain shower activity. 50 in concord. low 40s in napa and up in santa rosa. it's cooler with a half-mile visibility right now in napa a mile and a half in petaluma. just over two miles santa rosa. the rest of the bay area no problem. but we are looking at the cooler temperatures this morning. heading out grab the jacket.

it's five degrees cooler in santa rosa, as well as san jose and six degrees cooler in mountain view. heading out the door you could see a sprinkle here or there, but otherwise counting on partly cloudy skies, upper 60s coast to the mid-60s inland. >> thank you. a predawn raid at a mansion leads to a murder case. one is charged with hurt. >> keith green was last seen alive in april. -- or may 11th, rather. that's the authorities found his body. yesterday law enforcement raided the home of his ex-girlfriend and mother of his children. that girlfriend, tiffany li, seen on the right. is in jail, along with the another man who faces murder and conspiracy charges. sergio quintana mass the details. >> neighbors say san mateo county deputies used on armored

vehicle to burst through the grant gate. they raided the mansion. >> he could see the ball horns. we weren't sure what was going on. >> the police surrounded the house. they were in our yard. they were on a loudspeaker first in english and then it was either mandarin or cantonese, i'm not sure. they were calling for the people it come out. >> at least two were arrested. neighbors tell us tiffany li lives here with her parents. she's in the san mateo county jail. the second person is bayet. he's her boyfriend. >> it's disturbing that this happened. i can't imagine it. >> keith green used to be in a relationship and shared two children with tiffany li. he was reported missing last month, and his cell phone was then found in golden gate park.

several days later he was found dead. his body dumped near heelsburg in sonoma county. i buzzed the front gate hear several times to see if anyone wanted to talk. we did see two women inside holding a child, but no one answered. green had been staying with family friend angela dunn when she went missing. she told me by phone she talked to their mother and they are all relieved there is an arrest in this case. in hillsboro, abc7 news. >> abc news reporter vic lee first broke the story on twitter. we will continue to have updates or our station twitter account, abc7newsarea. the police ever investigating a double shootingg in the city's north beach area near san francisco and taylor street t happened last night. the victims were taken to

san francisco general hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries. no arrests have been made and a motive is still unknown. in the south bay investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire that chased a san jose family out of their home. a neighbor took this cell phone video of the fire on sagewood lane in east san jose around 4:30 yesterday afternoon. the fire department said the flames started in the garage, rapidly spreading through the rest of the house. the family was inside. everyone ran out before the fire consumed the entire two-story house. san jose firefighters responded just in time to keep that blaze from spreading to adjacent homes. >> the whole thing was for the fire, it was very scary. the good thing was okay -- occupants were out. about ten minutes we took care of it. >> the red cross helped the new residents find a place to say. the fire department said the home is a total loss.

in oakland investigators are looking for the cause after devastating fire that destroyed three east oakland businesses. it happened early yesterday morning at the corner of 73rd avenue and mcarthur boulevard inside a commercial building. flames raced through a pharmacy, a nail salon, a cell phone store, destroying all three. twelve fire engines responded and encountered difficulty because of the wrought iron security gates and other barriers. >> it's pretty bad because it's a common area so it's easy to go from one space to the next. i believe all together it is maybe like 11 units involved. one of the affected business owners said he's planning on rebuilding. he's already signed a lease in a vacant building across the street with plans to set up shop there. firefighters from throughout san mateo county spent yesterday gearing up for fire season. abc7 news was on san bruno

mountains where crews practiced digging containment lines on hilly terrain. wildfire season starts next month and lasts through october. the county was fire crews to be well prepared. >> the vegetation is there. it's there and it's always a threat. every year, as the grasses dry out and hot the weather comes, there's always that potential for a fire here. >> more than 50 firefighters took part in yesterday's exercise. it's one of many more planned before wildfire season hits its peak. a new e ra in saving lives began this weekend from they moved into the new zuckerberg trauma center. they moved the patients from the vintage building to the new tower yesterday. mark zucker bark and dr. chan

donated millions to the hospital. >> it's built with the patient in mind. all the rooms have beautiful views of the city, and it's safe. that was the reason for rebuilding. >> the new hospital includes a much larger emergency department with 59 treatment rooms. that more than doubles the amount of rooms in the old hospital. san francisco general is also the only trauma center to treat seriously injured people in san francisco and northern san mateo county. it's considered a south bay landmark, an institution of sorts. and it's closing. cambrian bowl has been there for more than half a century. today is its last day of operations. >> i took a couple pictures. >> outside of cambrian bowl, people are taking pictures of the sign before the lights

tuesday for a fundraiser. the former president will hold campaign events in stockton and sacramento later this week. clinton's rival, bernie sanders, kicked off a southern california campaign swing with rallies yesterday in san diego county and irvine. he has stops scheduled throughout the state over the next few days and new abc washington post poll shows a close contest in presidential election preferences. the poll showing donald trump leading by two points, 46% from hillary clinton's 44ers. contest has tightened since march when clinton led among registered voters by nine points. a mainstay of california politics for the last 50 years calls this year's presidential campaign the strangest he's ever seen. abc7 news anchor eric thomas recently sat down for a chat with leon panetta the former cia

director and secretary of defense. he said donald trump is appealing to an angry and frustrated electorate. >> he's appealing to that group with hate and division and the kind of language that i think just inspires even greater hate. >> panetta is a democrat who worked in the bill clinton white house. he said if the race was based only on knowledge and ability, hillary clinton would win. this is the last weekend before the voter registration deadline. tomorrow is also the deadline to register for a political party. voters who registered as no party preference, also known as declined to state, can request a ballot with a democratic candidate. voters must register as republican to receive are a republican ballot.

>> on "this week" bernie sanders will make his case that the democratic race is not over yet. you can watch the full interview on "this week" with george stephanopoulos at 8:00 this morning right here on abc7. the warriors are looking to take back home-court advantage tonight in the western conference finals. the dubs arrived in oklahoma city yesterday. the team tweeting this photo tweeting wheels down in o k.c.. this afternoon the warriors and pg&e are hosting a watch party. it will be at the former power plant site on jennings street in san francisco. this is video from a previous watch party. the fans who go today will also get a chance to take pictures with the 2015 larry o'brien championship trophy. the game starts at 5:00 tonight. games three and four will be on the thunder's home court tonight and tuesday. game five back at oracle arena

on thursday. we want to see your fan photos and video when you post them to social media. just use the lash tag -- the #dubson7. we are broadcasting in the newsroom while we build a new set. that means lisa argen is joying joining us from the weather center down the hall. >> a little far away for my like. good morning, everyone. we are looking at cloudy skies here from live doppler 7hd. there is still is some moisture in the atmosphere. we could be looking at a sprinkle early on in the east bay, the south bay. but not enough to cause problems. a mile and a half visibility petaluma. three quarters of a mile napa and santa rosa. with the low clouds, yes, we are running into the fog and still a couple areas of low pressure will be rotating through to the north of us. and that's going to allow for still the clouds. a better chance of showers tomorrow morning.

monday morning. and then even tuesday we will have the clouds and cool temperatures. from the roof camera right now looking a the 53 degrees downtown san francisco. 56 outside for you and oakland and cooler numbers from mountain view to san jose in the 40s as well as morgan hill. the cool pool of air continues to be over us for the first couple days of the work week. 52 half moon bay. that allows for afternoon highs to stay well below average. how much below? we will show you in a minute. novato, fairfield, concord, livermore check being in at 50 degrees. the golden gate bridge camera you see the clouds out there. so far no airport delays. we will call it partly cloudy today. getting into more sunshine. chance of some early morning showers tomorrow and looking at a warmer second half of the week. that will begin on wednesday, thursday and friday. so a little bit of moisture right there. so wouldn't be surprised if you saw a few sprinkles. as we go through the afternoon. 3:00 partly cloudy.

maybe the hayer elevations, a light shower. cloud up again tonight and then by early tomorrow morning look what happens. we are looking at a few sprinkles maybe toward the 7:00, 8:00 hour. but in terms of temperatures. 56 in san jose. that's 10 degrees below average. little change for tuesday. then slowly the numbers begin to bump up in. santa rosa very similar with highs just about 65 today. then notice the cool beginning of the week, the warmer second half of the week, and with that more sunshine. so some clouds, maybe an isolated sprinkle early on. 66 with some sun in the afternoon in san jose. and cupertino. low to mid-60s for redwood city and mountain view. we will call it partly cloudy to mostly cloudy. breezy along the coast in upper 50s in daly city. the north bay maybe sonoma could see a light shower. otherwise 64 calistoga. partly cloudy skies in napa. 63 in novato. near east bay with mid-60s. 65 in hayward, castro valley.

>> welcome back. we are starting this half-hour with a look at the weather with our meteorologist lisa argen. >> good morning. we are looking at cloudy skies. a little bit of visibility problems in the north bay. look how cool we are. 44 santa rosa, 48 novato and 46 los gatos, 50 in the san ramon valley. we are about five or six degrees cooler than we were yesterday at this time from mountain view to san jose and four degrees cooler in concord. this is the way the clouds will play out throughout the day today. notice we will see the breaks probably afternoon time. clouds early on and partly cloudy skies. notice the temperatures just in the 60s. you have to head out to the sacramento valley to reach the 70s. and wait here about two or three days before we get back to near average conditions. we will talk about more shower activity, as well, coming up. carolyn. >> thank you, lisa. a possible major strike in the war on terror. u.s. officials believe american

drones killed the leader of the taliban. cnn is reporting that the leader likely died in an airstrike along the pakistan-afghanistan border early yesterday. it may take the pentagon days to confirm that he was killed. we are now getting some clues about what could have happened during the final minutes of the doomed egypt air flight. pilots may have received warnings that disaster was imminent. but learning more hinges on finding the jetliners' black boxes. we have the story from paris. >> we are now hearing the final transition from the pilots of egypt air flight 804. >> thank you. good night. >> moments later warnings from the airbus a320 data transmission system. seven in all. one noting lavatory smoke. just another alert are of i have aonic smoke right below the

stressing that there will be no definitive answers until those black boxes are found. marcy gonzales, abc news, paris. the solar-powered airplane flying around the world has touched down in ohio. the solar impulse 2 landed late last night after taking off from oklahoma. the ohio stop is a milestone. it is the birthplace of aviation pioneers, the wright brothers. this is the latest leg in a journey destined for the middle east later this year. the globe-circling trip started in august of last year in awe beau daub by. >> it might may you more to walk for 20 miles than it did for a massive space shuttle fuel tank to finish a trek across los angeles. the tank arrived at the science center south of downtown l.a. yesterday evening. it took 19 hours to travel from

1,000 volunteers will take part in serve day to give back to their community. the community presbyterian church of danville is organizing it inaugural day. more than a dozen east bay community groups will participate. throughout the bay area volunteers will do a number of tasks from cooking for police officers and firefighters to painting and organizing a shelter. do you think baseball is a boy's sport? well, don't tell that to a team of girls. the rockford peaches baseball players got to meet the seattle mariners. abc news reporter cecilia vega has the story. >> don't let the sweet name or the cute faces fool you. >> i want to beat the boys! >> that's exactly what they do. >> i think it's just kind of interesting because that team is just girls. >> the first all-girls baseball team in west seattle.

>> in sports. steph curry said his elbow is fine for today's game. the dubs battle the thunder at 5:00. the series, as you know, is tied at one game a piece. in the stanley cup playoffs it's now a best of three series between the sharks and blues. tomorrow night the western conference finals shift back to st. louis for game five. after the blues even the series at the sap center. rick quan has the highlights in this morning's sports. >> good orning. up two games to one, the sharks had a great chance to take control of the western conference finals last night.

st. louis had been shutout the last two games. but not this time n the first, troy brouwer scores on the power play and it's 1-0 blues. sharks martin jones has been spectacular, but he's will for the rebound. it's 2-0 st. louis. in the second san jose turns it over and here come the blues. kyle brodziak with the short-handed goal. make it 3-0. four minutes later brodziak's shot bounces off the post and gets by. that made it 4-0. jake allen, goalie, got his first start of the season. he stopped 31 shots but not this bunt which joe pavelski. the sharks scored three times in the third but fall short losing 6-3. so the blues tie the series at two games a piece. game five is monday in st. louis. >> i'm not necessarily sad about the effort. i think we turned a few pucks over. we got a little cute, whether it's them or us. >> weaver been consistently good

for a while. we didn't execute tonight. we got burnt. we got what we deserved because of our execution and short memory, we will move on to the next game. we've had one or two of these games throughout the playoffs and we've always responded the right way. >> it has not been a great season for giants pitcher matt cain. and on saturday he was facing the cubs. the team with the best record in the majors. the crowd was buzzing over at 24 willie mays plaza. cain had a two-run double in the second off jon lester. make it 2-0, san francisco. then in the third buster posey connects. the shot made it 4-1. cain pitched six strong innings, allowing just one run on six hits. 5-3 would be the final. he gets edison russell for one of the five strikeouts. the win was cain's first in nearly a year. over at the coliseum, about 26,000 came out to watch the a's

studio where my friend lisa argen is standing by for weather. >> i know. i think it looks normal for the viewer, but for us, we are just not in the usual positions. i feel you this morning. good morning. we are looking at low fog and clouds around the bay. visibility a little bit of an issue in napa here. half-mile there. about five minutes until sunrise. notice the clouds to the north of us. the area of low pressure yesterday that brought a few sprinkles has moved on to the east. but there's going to be a couple more that will allow for not only the cloud cover, the cool weather, a chance of a shower right into tomorrow morning in parts of the bay. but today doesn't look likely. if we see anything at all, maybe early this morning. otherwise a lot of clouds. a partly cloudy afternoon. 46 in morgan hill with upper 40s in mountain view and san jose. temperatures are cooler in the south bay. 513 in the city. it's 56 in oakland. and another vantage point from our sutro tower camera. lots of clouds here. and temperatures are cool.

santa rosa 44. good morning, napa. 46. 48 novato. 49 by the delta. 50 right now for you in concord and 52 in livermore. we will have a sea breeze today and other than that we will get into a little bit more sunshine. but as you head on out early, yeah, 6 degrees cooler mountain view, san jose, you may notice the change there, and 5 degrees cooler in santa rosa. sfo the delays yesterday and today the low cloud deck. the gusty winds in the afternoon by the airport but partly cloudy overall today. chance of an early morning shower, just a slight chance. then we will look for a warmer second half of the week. looks like we are going to have to wait until about wednesday to see more mid-and then upper 70s thursday and friday. here we are? morning, maybe a few isolated sprinkles. santa cruz mountains. but by 3:00 in the afternoon the bulk of the bay will enjoy some sunshine. clouds tonight, tomorrow morning and another area of low pressure allowing for clouds and then maybe a sprinkle. then we break out into more

afternoon sunshine on monday. so we will be looking at temperatures then today in the 60s by the afternoon. we will see a pretty good day with sun setting at 8:19. but kind of cool out there for the afternoon game at&t park. it will be partly cloudy for most of us by, say, noontime. 65 in fremont. 68 in one of the warmer locations. and then if you are spending anytime in oakland today, you will have some sun. temperatures in the low 60s. game time there at 1:00. so looks like the cool weather is going to stick around for the next several days. the accuweather seven-day forecast with 60s on the high end inland tomorrow and today looking like the coolest days. then by tuesday, notice a couple degrees warmer. it's really going to take until the end of the week into next weekend where we see 70s and maybe 70 around the bay. >> lisa, i better get used to it. we will be here for with a while as we build a new set in the studio.
