the evidence here is that pearl was seriously injured so there is a fair amount of urgency to this. in jenner, abc7 news. >> thank you. investigators identified a murder victim that left a person dead. he was 17-year-old edwin ramirez gurera. investigators say he was killed when four teenagers met with a fifth person on a trail near the school on wednesday. the two were shot and stabbed. one died and the other was left to die but called 911. a s.w.a.t. team went to the home of a 17-year-old suspect and arrested him. they took a 16-year-old into custody. it has certainly sent shock waives through the community. >> violence will not be tolerated in our city.

any life lost is a life too many. not in our town. >> investigators say they're close with third arrests and looking into whether there is a possible connection between shootings and a sexual assault that happened a week ago. a peninsula murder mystery is entwined with a custody battle. the mother is charged with killing their father. abc7 news reporter vic lee joins us live with new details in this case. and that is only on abc7 news, vic? >> here are the documents. we're talking about keith green and tiffany lee's children. she's in jail. he's dead. the district attorney says the children are with keith green's mother but today, tiffany lee's mother struck back.

tiffany lee's mother and lawyers came to the court house to fight for custody of her grandchildren. jeff carr is the attorney for her daughter. >> it's our position they were kidnapped by our government. >> he is talking about her two children, suddenly taken into protective custody yesterday by district attorneys' investigators. lee, her current boyfriend and another suspect are in custody, charged with murdering keith green, lee's ex-boyfriend, and father of her 2-year-old and 4-year-old daughters. >> issuing a warrant for children, one from home, one from school. >> lee's mother, residing most of the year in beijing, china has been caring for them in the home since her daughter was arrested on saturday during a s.w.a.t. team raid at the house. green's body was found may 11th in a field in sonoma county. he disappeared in april. he went to the pancake house in millbrae, telling his roommate he was going to meet lee.

green and lee had a break up. the lawyer says lee's mother should be considered a flight risk. >> they sought to get a warrant based on a false allegation that mrs. lee, senior was not a citizen of the united states, which she is. >> she had reason to believe tiffany would harm the children or instruct others to harm them. the judge ordered authorities to remove them from the home. the judge denied trung lee's motion to reverse the order. >> the family of kate steinle filed a lawsuit today against the federal and local government

for the killing. >> the family says missteps by agencies led to the death. and form the 32-year-old was walking with her father at pier 14 last july when she was shot to death. an undocumented immigrant is charged with pulling the trigger. steinle's family blamed ross mirkarimi after the city decided not to prosecute the defendant. >> he acted without legal authority in contrary to the law that existed and had been on the books. >> steinle's family blames the bureau of land management because the gun was stolen out of an agent's car. the bureau tells us it's reviewing the complaint.
