two teenagers from pitsberg drowned in a river over the weekend. she and her cousin graduated last year, now, students and families are trying to cope with the loss. abc7 news reporter lyanne melendez has the story. >> reporter: the high school senior died during a camping trip. she and her cousin drowned in a river near south lake tahoe. her mother said her daughter is in a better place. she says one never expects this to happen. i feel defeated but will find strength. she was just a week away from graduating. >> graduation is coming up. >> sad? >> it's not every day some happens. >> the kids are in shock.

were shot and stabbed. one student died and another survived. >> it will be a good day for kids to come together. i think it's going to be a hopefully normal day for them. >> police have arrested three suspects in this incident which, again, killed a 17-year-old. today, prosecutors announced a 17-year-old and 16-year-old will be charged with murder and attempted murder. court papers says a third suspect is charged as an accessory after the fablth. all three will be in court tomorrow. police are still searching tonight. detectives shared clues they hope will find a girl kidnapped on her way to school. pearl pinz onvanished last wednesday morning. police say she carried a backpack like this one. and at least three cameras recorded the car thursday

morning. the suspected kidnapper died in a shootout with police later on thursday. firefighters rushed to the rescue of a man found inside of a burning home. firefighters say they found the man on the floor, he suffered severe burns and crews say it appears flames were concentrated in the back of the house. there is no word on what caused this fire. 14 people can't go home tonight because their homes burned in a fire in martinez this morning. flames destroyed two units and one person suffered a minor injury. the stage is set for a bernie sanders rally. police are warning about traffic around the community center because of the rally.
