husband are hosting a total of nine events throughout california today, including one star-studded concert featuring christina aguilera, john legend and stevie wonder. kendis, diane. >> lots of votes tomorrow including new jersey and new mexico. megan, thank you for the update there. breaking news in phoenix, five people shot at multiple scenes. two of those victims now dead. police say a man walked into a motel 6 and opened fired. they believed he shot two people during a car jacking. he later turning the gun on himself. a u.s. journalist and afghan translator have been killed in an attack in afghanistan. david gilkie was a veteran journalist. two others traveling with the pair were not killed. the translator was a freelancer who worked for mpr. both are being remembered for their courage and bravery. thousands of californians are making their way back to their homes after fleeing a brush fire.

the fire is now 80% contained. but some pockets of flames still linger. in the state canyons in calabasas. it was started by falling power lines after a car crashed into a utility pole. one commercial building was destroyed. but only one home was damaged. and officials don't want to see any more images like this along california's huntington beach. a mile-long stretch of the area was shut down sunday afternoon after lifeguards spotted three great white sharks. they're hoping to reopen the closed area today. last week a stretch of sand in nearby newport beach was closed after a shark attack. in a few hours, we'll find out whether the ohio gorilla controversy will become a criminal case. the prosecutor is deciding whether to charge the parents with neglect after their son climbed into a primate exhibit at the cincinnati zoo. zoo officials shot and killed an endangered gorilla harambe to protect the child.

into whether a gas leak caused this explosion that leveled a home in new jersey. one man living in the house was burned over 50% of his body. two others were treated for cuts and bruises. police and neighbors said they smelled gas after the explosion. and a developing story here in new york. a huge crowd of 4,000 kanye west fans showed up for a surprise show at a small concert venue. when west arrived people started jumping on cars and trucks just trying to get a glimpse of the star. around 2:00 a.m. the crowd grew so unruly, the venue actually called off the show, but fans refused to leave. that's when west spoke to them and told them to go home. >> and maybe they listened then. creating a social media giant apparently doesn't mean you're immune to hackers. some of facebook ceo mark zuckerberg's accounts were bleached. the group gained access to his

all right, a brazen robbery in the meantime was captured on camera. you won't believe who was behind it. a mischievous monkey pushed its way into a jewelry store in india. the monkey then opened a drawer and grabbed a handful of cash. take a look. the worker tried to entice the monkey with the fruit but the cash was apparently more appetizing. the monkey got away with 10,000 -- 150 bucks. the driver of this dragster is okay after his car exploded while speeding down the track. he somehow managed to keep the car straight in his lane, the nose of the body was still attached. the driver credited safety gear. since his gloves and his fire suit were burned. he was able to walk away unharmed. >> all right, time now for sports and a look at the thrashing the warriors gave the
