traffic bumper-to-bumper traffic with the accident right here. c.h.p. did a traffic break. this is an eastbound 580 to southbound 880 and it looks like they have just cleared it out of there and we will check back. the red lights show people stopped waiting for the accident to clear out of the lanes. we check back in a few minutes. >> a major shakeup in the oakland police department last night. we learned that chief sean whent has resigned. tiffany wilson is outside oakland police department. tiffany? >> yes, mayor schaaf said chief sean whent turned in his resignation for personal republicans but sources say that he was forced to turn in resignation. chief sean whent said that when he took the job as interim chief i vowed to move the department forward and make oakland safer with a strong we relationship with members of the diverse

community theory am proud to have done that. chef's resignation means there is turn over at the top of the police department, san francisco, and san jose all in the past six months. mayor schaaf said the acting chief has been named, and there is is an acting chief in san jose and another acting chief in southeast when there was a retirement. the deputy chief of bart police has been named as interim chief in oakland. the mayor and the city administrator and the new interim police chief will hold a news conference at 9:00 this morning. one of two oakland police officers katie up in a sexual
