own understanding of how it impacts people. >> and that's the goal among protesters, to get more people to understand the impact of sexual assault. at stanford, lilian kim, abc7 news. >> police in had san francisco have arrested a woman who officers chased down on the bart tracks. the powell street station around 8:30 last night. the 26-year-old woman had a felony theft warrant. she ran into the station through an emergency stairwell and on to the track. authorities say she grabbed an officer's gun, broke his radio and bit him on the arm before he could arrest her. the officer has been treated for minor injuries. a driver escaped with minor injuries after his car plunged into a creek in oakland. you are looking at video tweeted by oakland firefighters yesterday evening. you can see a rescued swimmer helping the man escape from his partially submerged s.u.v.

car crash. police suspect another young person of vehicular manslaughter, second degree murder and drunk driving. flowers and candles mark the spot along airport boulevard. you see how the force of the wreck mangled the suspect's honda. officers believe the driver was going at least 80 miles an hour in a 35 miles per hour zone. the honda hit another car, overturned and struck at least two trees before the victims, ages 18 and 21, were ejected on to the pavement. san jose police have made another arrest in connection with the violence that erupted following a donald trump rally earlier this month. police have arrested 24-year-old anthony yi of san jose. on friday yi was charged with robbery you, assault and battery in three separate incidents. 8 others have also been arrested. police say they expect more arrests soon relate the to the

the presidio before an eight mile run. the race begins at 7:30 this morning. a 9-year-old boy from the central coast is coming to san francisco to try to break a world record. james savage wants to become the youngest person to swim to and from alcatraz. last year he swam one way, but this year he wants to make it a round trip. james has been training at the reservoir near his home several times a week. he will swim all the way out to alcatraz, touch it, and turn around and come back to shore. >> the length is three miles, but my record is going to be the world's youngest kid to do it. >> well, good luck, james. he's going to make the attempt tuesday morning. his coach will be swimming right beside him and his mother will be following them in a kayak. and in the north bay, deputies want to remind people headed to stinson beach about the 106th annual dipsy race today. the 7.5-mile footrace goes from mill valley to stinson beach.

organizers say it is the oldest trail race in america. parking, of course, will be scarce, and there will be large crowds. the race starts at 8:30 this morning. lots of things going on, francis. what's the weather going to be like? >> it's going to be sunny, but a little cooler for us today, carolyn. here's a look at live doppler 7hd. we will start to see some clouds come in from the south with a stronger onshore flow. in fact you can see some of the clouds on the slide picture from mt. tam and a little sea breeze there as we look south toward san francisco, which is obscured by the clouds right now. it's currently 56 in san francisco and oakland. mountain view pretty mild at 61. morgan hill 56 and half moon bay is at 54 degrees. we are looking toward the bay bridge and the cars coming into san francisco. santa rosa is 50. napa 57. check out novato. 46. we have a wide range of temperatures and it's mild in

some of the east bay areas. concord 60 degrees right now. this time from sutro looking down from san francisco. here's what you need to know for the forecast today. we have a sunny afternoon but temperatures are a bit cooler. increasing clouds overnight with some possible drizzle tomorrow. because of that onshore flow things are going to start to cool down today and that trend continues through midweek. so let's get you those highs for this afternoon. in san jose 80 degrees. still plenty of sunshine for everyone in the south bay. and 79 in santa clara. look for upper 70s through palo alto, mountain view near 80 and los altos. but at the coast breezy and cool. that's where temperatures will stay in the 60s. downtown san francisco, for all the festivities, 66 degrees this afternoon. look for mid-to upper 70s in parts of the north bay like calistoga, napa. also vallejo hitting 75 this afternoon. pretty comfortable in the east bay. we will see low to upper 70s with oakland hitting 73 and

union sit up to 77. lots of sunshine inland. we won't see the 90s. instead we will get up through the mid-80s. walnut creek, san ramon and pleasanton and 86 in brentwood. so if you are head today the san mateo county fair, here is what you want expected to. by 11:00 still a bit cool in the mid-60s. this afternoon with all the sunshine mid-70s. definitely have the sunscreen handy and also lots of folks heading to the beaches where we will see the clouds this afternoon. mostly sunny. low clouds coming in. breezy, though, with very high u.v. index. you will still need the sunscreen and the sunglasses. and ocean temperatures right now or later today will be about 55 degrees for some of those swimmers braving the cold water. you will notice the on show floor will increase tonight. we could see some drizzle tomorrow. again, this does give a trend to make way for some cooling.

he will talk one-on-one with abc news chief anchor george stephanopoulos on "this week." you can watch the full interview on "this week" at 8:00 this morning right here on abc7. breakingovernight in contra costa county, the chp is investigating a crash on eastbound highway 4 in antioch that has left one man dead. it happened just after 1:00 this morning near the lone tree way exit. officers say the driver of this car was speeding when he lost control, rolled over, and then slammed into a poll. you can see how the car ended up wrapped around that poll. no other cars were involved. a violent crime caught on surveillance video in broad daylight. you are looking at a jeweler from new york who was robbed while filling up at a gas station near the dallas-fort worth airport on thursday. the thieves ran off 30 seconds after the crime started. the victim survived.

now police and fbi agents want to know if this robbery is linked to a deadly kidnapping in the same area. well, the tributes keep pouring in for mr. hockey, gordy howe. pittsburgh center sidney crosby called him a roll model for a lot of people, including himself. the nhl is expected to honor howe before game six today at sap center. his funeral will take place wednesday. gordy howe passed away peacefully friday. he was 88 years old. a pilot whale that lived at seaworld san diego for nearly 30 years mass died. the park said bubbles was in her mid-50s when she died thursday. she was captured off the california coast back in the 1960's and performed at marine park shows most of her life. seaworld said bubbles was believed to be the oldest of her species in a zoological park. it's estimated 100 million people saw bubbles perform over the decades.

currently in san francisco it's 56, as well as oakland. mountain view 61 degrees right now. also, san jose 60, but half moon bay is cooler at 54 degrees. and there are some low clouds creating some limited visibility down to three miles. but this live shot at sfo you see clear skies. we are going to see lots ever sunny conditions, as well. in santa rosa it's currently 50 degrees. napa 57. novato 48. fairfield and concord and livermore in the upper 50s right now. i'll take you back to the low clouds from sutro. we are looking toward the north there. and we can't see the golden gate about bridge. it's kind of disappeared behind some of the low clouds at least had from this point. view. here's what you need to know. it's still going to be sunny but temperatures are coming down. cooler today but still warm in many locations. increasing clouds overnight because of the stronger onshore flow. and then the trend continues. we will be cooling down through midweek. here's the forecast animation. 7:00 this morning we see some of the low clouds. then it pulls back.

we will see plenty of sunshine. >> inland areas warm in the 80s around the bay. 60s at the coast. in the south bay the high today in san jose will be 830 degrees. so that's down from 86 yesterday. but still very comfortable. also on the peninsula, 75 in san mateo. breezy in pacifica. 64 degrees as well. san francisco will be 66 this afternoon. and in the north bay we saw a few mid-80s. now we are going to see a lot of upper 70s. petaluma will be 77, as well as napa. and vallejo 75 degrees. comfortable in the east bay. hercules at 70. and a little warmer as but head farther south to 77 degrees in union city. now, inland numbers, again, we saw some low 90s yesterday in antioch. but today it will be about 85 degrees. so still warm, plenty ever sunshine there as well. if you are headed to the giants game, even though it's going to be a little cooler we will still

>> we have breaking news out of florida this morning where as many as 20 people have died at an orlando nightclub. police consider this a domestic terror incident. you are looking at a live picture outside the nightclub that catered to the gay and lesbian communities. officers say the suspect killed people inside the club. they are still trying to determine if anyone else was involved. the florida department of law enforcement said there are suggestions the shooter had radical islamic leanings. the shooting happened at 2:00 this morning in orlando, florida. police say there were about 320 people inside the club at the time of the shooting.
