under the age of 14. we couldn't reach family members for comment. laura anthony, abc 7 news. >> thank you so much, laura. san francisco police need your help identifying this man. they believe he randomly stabbed a man outside a bar on irving street last week. police say the victim was texting outside the bar when a man walked by and stabbed him. there was no attempt to rob the victim. >> the suspect came out of nowhere and just stabbed him and continued to walk away. and we need to know who this person is, arrest him because he could do this again. >> this video shows the stabber holding something in his left hand. police think it was used in the attack. the victim suffered a puchk tur wound to a lung but is recovering. more information has emerged with a 17-year-old boy accused of murdering one of his novato classmates last month. the suspect juan martinez was arrested a week before the murder suspected in the rape of a 15-year-old girl. marin county prosecutors did not

charge martinez in the rape case and he was released after spending two days in juvenile hall. the district attorney not commenting on the rape case because it's a juvenile matter. the trial date for the man accused of killing morgan hill teenager sierra lamar is set for august 1st. the ruling was made inside a san jose courtroom this morning. 15-year-old sierra lamar was last seen in 2012 while on her way to a school bus stop. her body has never been found. prosecutors saleh march's dna was found in torres' car. the case has been delayed. hundreds have been evacuated as fires are burning in three states along the west coast. here in california, an out-of-control wildfire near santa barbara has growth to some 4,000 acres. this has been a challenge for crews dealing with dry conditions and strong winds. abc news reporter stephanie ramos with the latest from los angeles. >> reporter: it's day three in this raging brush fire in california is still out of control. >> trying to hold that line. >> reporter: firefighters are up against high heat, rough terrain

and dconditions as they try to put out roaring flames. >> the reality is that hinges can change very rapidly and dlo change they ra rapidly in the evening. >> reporter: this is the first fire up in that canyon in more than 60 years. about 1200 firefighters are working to contain it, including a fleet of aircraft dropping water and retardant on what's been named the sherpa fire. the blaze got going wednesday afternoon and quickly spread to 4,000 acres by friday prompting evacuations of homes, ranches and campsites around the canyon. >> we're at the mercy evof the weather. this is rough country. a lot of wind last night. >> reporter: authorities forced a shutdown of busy stretch of the 101 freeway, the maintain coastal route between southern and northern california. >> there will probably be more closures. >> reporter: to the east fire fiertds in arizona working to contain this fire and also facing challenges. next door in new mexico, the doghead fire there exploding to 16,000 acres fueled by high

cliff area. a man in distress was first spotted this morning kicking around in the water off china beach. an off-duty lifeguard got him to shore and then he and other swimmers performed cpr. >> the guy was fully clothed, complete with shoes and a jacket and looked -- didn't look like he was actually swimming. his feet were kicking but he wasn't moving his arms. >> the man is in his 50s and doesn't appear to be a surfer or fisherman. he was still unconscious as he was rushed to the hospital. it's still unclear how he ended up in the ocean. swimmers say china beach is it not known for rip current pfz. >> president obama and his family are scheduled to arrive at yosemite in a few hours. they arrived in roswell, new mexico, and visited the karlzburg caverns. they're due in at water at about 7:15 and will overnight in the sierra, then visit yosemite tomorrow. the president is expected to deliver importance on the national park system. this is the first time in six

but besides that, the activity is very limited across the region. microclimates certainly in full play today. a live look from our san jose camera showing we're seeing decent breaks in the clouds and sunshine in the south bay. but in san francisco where it's overcast, we're currently 62, 66 in oakland 77 mt. view. with the sunshine we're at 77 in san jose, morgan hill 79. we'll take you a little bit to the north from our mt. tam cam, you can see several layers of cloud cover really making that sunshine hard to come through. santa rosa, napa and the north bay cool in the upper 60s, concord actually just dropped to 69 degrees live on the air. and livermore right now at 74. from our sfo camera, overcast skies in the forecast. it's go calling for a lot of clouds overnight. there's a chance for a sprinkle with the cold front nearby. we'll start saturday off with clouds, we'll transition into sunshine by the afternoon. and for dad, it's a gift. we're warm and we're sunny to round out the weekend. overnight tonight, the call

victims or nine people killed one year ago today at emanuel ame church. ♪ south carolina governor nikki haley says she's kept the victims' funeral programs as a daily reminder of that day. a gunman targeted the parishioners of the african-american church during bible study. add today's service, governy haley held up each program while sharing a story about the victims. disney world is taking steps to prevent another tragedy involving an alligator and one of its guests. you can see fencing being installed along the seven seas lagoon in orlando. these fences are in response to the tragedy that happened on tuesday when an alligator came up out of the water and dragged a 2-year-old boy into the water. divers found his body the next day. resort officials are also putting up these new "danger" signs warning about alligators and snakes in the area. a mother from mississippi shared these photos on facebook showing her 3-year-old son wading in

animated film "finding nemo" found its way to the big screen. this weekend a long-awaited squeal opens in theaters. jonathan bloom takes us behind the scenes at disney's pixar animation studios with a look at what it took to resurrect the old characters and create a very complicated new co-star. >> reporter: it's a film about some familiar fish. >> where did you see them last? >>ive forgot. >> reporter: one is a little forgotful. >> sorry. i suffer from short-term memory loss. >> reporter: ellen is back as the voice for dory. as for that loveable blue face, pixar dug into its archives. >> kind of like opening a microsoft word document 13 years later. it's bound to be messed up. >> reporter: in 13 years the software has totally changed and so have the people at pixar. for a lot of these animators working under water is actually new. >> it's more difficult to convince people there's water there. most of our crew had to sort of learn the fish swimming physics. we had experts come in and talk to you us about how fish swim.

toward gay men in mexico. >> it's a feminizing, vilifying and off the ra sizing. >> reporter: the word is often heard when the mexican national team plays internationally. most recently it's been heard in the copa america tournament typically yelled by mexican fans trying to distract the opposing goalie. more needs to be done to stop people from thinking it's an okay term to use. >> we have to be able to i think engage in meaningful challenges, not just dialogue but meaningful challenges to how do we engage in the public sphere? >> reporter: fifa has fined the mexican national team thousands of dollars in the past year due to the actions of its fans. in fact, the team even released this video urging fans to stop using derogatory language especially at matches. but so far, it hasn't worked. gonzalez who is gay and hispanic says it makes it that much harder to watch a match knowing that he'll hear something hurtful. >> you just want to enjoy the
