as we get going today the warmup is quick. temperatures from ten degrees warmer in some spots than yesterday's reading. that will take us to about 90 degrees inland at 4:00 this afternoon. upper 60s at the coast. carolyn. >> thank you, lisa. we have developing news out of the east bay this morning. fire crews are keeping an eye out for hotspots after a three alarm fire damaged three buildings in oakland. it started 7:15 last night on walnut street. there was a fire in a nearby warehouse that spread quickly to buildings on foothill a church and a realty office were burned. investigators are working to figure out how that fire started. and in contra costa county a two-alarm fire has destroyed a single-story home. this video is he from contra costa fire t happened at bay point an beach drive.

no one was hurt but the family dog has minor burns on his pause. the home is a total loss with $135,000 in damage. nearby downed powerlines may have started the fire, but the cause is still under investigation. the impact of that gas devastating five-alarm fire in pa san francisco will be felt for some time. while there are no serious injuries, more than three dozen people cannot return home. abc7 news reporter lisa amin gulezian told us it took four hours to contain the fire. >> reporter: thick smoke hung over bernal heights for hours. early indications the fire started near the rear of cole's hardware store. >> you have products, chemicals, and we don't really know how it started. but unfortunately that might

have helped spread it across the whole building. >> this was an aggressive fire. at one point firefighters had to get out of the building and fight it from the outside. >> within the hardware build we may be dealing with flam ables. winds coming from the east to east, when the windows in the require broke it added wind and oxygen to the fire that caused it to increase in intensity. >> the intense flames created so much smoke that a shelter in place area was issued for everyone. they watched this chaos around him. >> my about biggest concern is the neighborhood and the people who live in the building, number one. and the safety of everybody around. >> and so he opened up his kitchen to firefighters and volunteers. because doing something made accepting this a little easier. down the street a man started

sandbagging a neighbor's business. in this neighborhood every little bit helps n had san francisco, lisa amin gulezian, abc7 news. and thankfully no one was seriously hurt. but what's next for those who lost their homes? abc7 news reporter sergio quintana spoke to some who are staying at a temporary shelter. >> as the fire rained in the distance, residents trickled into the park lot. kids, adults, seniors. all without a home and some in shock. >> what was it hike leaving home? >> stressful, scary. >> i woke up to a fire alarm, and i thought maybe somebody was playing with it so i went out said to see what was going on and the fire department said get out! you can't go back in! >> and to see how much they can preserve as much of their life as possible against the mayor said he will work on helping them transition. >> housing is a huge issue in a

and firefighters delivered happy news to two men. they thought their two cats died in the fire and spent several hours look be for them. crews fouled the cats in a closed-offer shortly after 8:00 last night and reunited the pets with their owners. >> this was almost the worst day ever and it's now the best day ever. i'm going to take them to the vet to get them checked out. >> if you are looking for your pets, you can call san francisco animal control. the number on your screen there. firefighters are making progress on several wildfires burning across the state. crews now have the 7800sherpa fire 45% contained near santa barbara. they say strong winds that usually sweep down mountains in the area did not it materialize last night. no homes have burned but hundreds of people have been forced to evacuate. and in amador county a 210-acre wildfire is 45% contained.

it destroyed three structures. crews expect full containment by this afternoon. and cal fire tweeted out these pictures of a nearly 240-acre wildfire person in san bernardino county. it is 80% contained and has damaged four structures. danville police arrested a man they believe broke into a cool last night. a silent alarm alerted officers to the break-in just after 6:00 last night. officers say the man broke into the administration building. they found some vandalism. it's unclear if anything was stolen. turmoil in the oakland police department. the force had its third chief in nine days while a sex scandal swirls. a about. c7 news reporter leslie brinkley has the story. this is embarrassing. >> city leaders are shaking their heads in disbelief over a growing sex scandal in the oakland police department.

at least 14 officers may have had an inappropriate relationship with a teenage who are goes by the name celeste. more are implicated. and another scandal involving the homicide sergeant for allowing his mistress to help write police reports. a clearly disgusted oakland mayor put a fourth person, it city administrator, in charge for now. >> i'm here to run a police department, no the a frat house. >> this city council member is ready to have federal regulators running opd. >> too many years with that negative behavior and now i'm supposed to accept it, pay your salary and continue to do that and violate my children and families, absolutely not. >> young people volunteering said the unfolding candles are a breach of trust. >> i'm really sad about it. >> this outreach coordinator for sex trafficking victims is appalled. >> even if they approached them,

then they may get accused of messing around. it's kind of weird right now. the position that the cops are in dealing with the prostitutes. >> not only will oakland have to recruit a new chief, but they will have to look long and hard at how they are recruiting police officers. abc7 news. >> in pleasanton you can see where a car chase ended after a stretch through several east bay communities yesterday. it all started when police said a man hit several other cars in fremont. officers claim he tried to ram one of their vehicles before driving the wrong way along a freeway while trying to escape. new this morning the dali llama will visit sacramento for the first time for a special address to the state legislature. he's on a public tour of the united states this month. he met with president obama last week and discussed the importance of religion harmony after the orlando shooting.

he sooner than that. but at 8:00 it will start to get warm. the atmosphere is dry and we will look at a slight offshore flow by the afternoon. 56 in livermore. napa dropped down to 48 degrees. with the dryer air it's been cooler in the north bay, and that's why the 24 hour temperature change shows 7 degrees of cooling in napa and fairfield. the dewpoints are lower starting out much more comfortable this morning. but by, say, noontime it is going to be very warm out there. and by the afternoon getting pretty uncomfortable in some spots. clear skies. warmer today for father's day and warm to hot inland this week. the forecast models kept changing. now it looks like the heat will continue not only for monday, the first day of summer, but check out these reds n the 90s in of the inland east bay. not only do they stay there into tuesday, it gets even warmer into wednesday with perhaps some

oppressive heat by the middle of the week. low 80s around bait for hayward and redwood city. san francisco and the coast staying very nice with that onshore flow. so if you are headed anywhere from pacifica to point reyes, numbers will be in the low 70s there. a little further south. santa cruz you will see some 80s with plenty of sunshine not only today but tomorrow into tuesday. we're not going to see much in the way of the low clouds. the sea breeze, yes. not the low clouds. in san jose today, upper 80s. a slight dip tomorrow. but check it out. all week long it will be a warm one in the south bay, the santa rosa the clara valley and also the rest of the bay area. look for about 69 today. half moon bay. 73 in san francisco. upper 80s from san jose to perhaps up near cloverdale. 90 in livermore. and, of course, over at oracle it is going to be a warm afternoon. temperatures there by about 5:00, near 80 degrees. dropping off toward 70. we will look for the sunset at 8:34. here's the accuweather seven-day
