the coast at 45 degrees. we are looking at sfo and someone could wipe this camera down for us. here's what you can expected to. by 9:00 this afternoon we will already start to warm up. still cool at the coast. 63 in san francisco. we will start to see the upper 70s inland. by lunchtime things will be warming up to near 90 in antioch, low 80s san jose and 70s around the bay. this afternoon we have quite a range of temperatures from 60s at the coast with clouds, all the way up into the mid-and upper 90s inland. i'll have the complete accuweather seven-day forecast coming up. >> francis, thank you. sheriff's deputies in contra costa county are looking for the suspect in another shooting it mere pittsburgh. it happened on westbound highway 4. the driver of a pickup truck got off the highway and pulled over after hearing a pop, and found a hole in the back window. a woman was hit by the broken

glass and taken to the hospital as a precaution. the chp said there have been 28 shootings on the highways in the east bay since never of last year. four people were killed and a dozen injured. now to our other stop story. it appears the european union is ready to move on from great tan. last night they said they are ready to start exit negotiations immediately. >> we agree our economic and financial teams will remain in close contact as we stay focused on providing financial stability and economic growth. >> 52% of britains voted to leave the e.u., concerned with their immigration and regulation policies. prime minister caved cameron announced he will step down and it could take months to replace him. he wants the next prime minister to negotiate the full withdrawal, but the e.u. doesn't want to wait that long.

president obama talked about how it will affect your nation's relationship. >> the transition out of the e.u. could take until 2020. many brits traveling to the bay area on vacation were shocked by the vote. we caught up with a few of them who voted in the u.k. before heading here. dan ashley has more. >> these brits arriving at sfo just found out the results of the landmarkp4 brixit vote before hopping on their long flights to california. here's susan base. >> i think britain's best interests lie in being part of europe and not isolating itself. and i'm really, really, cross. >> robert is excited to go. >> we are fed up with immigration, we are fed up with regulation and not having control over our own destiny. >> even those who voted to succeed were surprised by the results. >> i was shocked because of the polling. >> he's confident the u.k. will do better on their own. >> a lot of the laws are written in brussels and doesn't reflect

what britain does. >> we don't know where we are going. the first news you get is that the pound has just plummeted again, foreign currencies, the stock market is unsteady. >> collin brown said the lisbon treaty is set up to provide stability so business relationships between the uk and the u.s. shouldn't change right away. >> the real question is businesses in europe, what does that mean from the choice of location from their headquarters. >> dan ashley, abc7 news. >> colin told us that while the u.k. is attractive for businesses now, it remains to be seen if that will be changed andy businesses will consider other companies still in the union. more than 30,000 acres are burning in an out of control wildfire that started thursday afternoon. the fire is being blamed for two deaths and the loss of at least 100 structures. it's only 5% contained.

reporter melissa mcbride from our sister station in los angeles has the latest from kern county. >> reporter: blackened debris and piles of ash is all that's left from this fire. the frames of cars are the few recognizable things in the neighborhood. this is how it looked last night, dozens of homes up in flames as it ravaged south lake. >> i really underestimated how fast and how bad that fire was. >> david's home on radiant way is a total loss. he said he received a reverse 911 call to evacuate and less than half an hour later the fire was dangerously close. he left with only his medication. >> i jumped in my truck and everyone was running by that time. >> he's roughly one of 125 residents now staying at on evacuation center in kernville. >> i wanted to make sure my animals got out safely because these are my babies.

>> wanda and her three dogs were was forced to evacuate the community of weldon. >> when i left, the house on the corner was up in flames. i have the lord on my side. i've been praying, and if he decide to take my home, i will get another one. >> in squirrel valley the fire claimed two lives. officials said an elderly couple who had medical problems will not escape the fire. >> a deputy was in the area and he was going door to door and came across this burned-out property, checked the property and located the two bodies. >> the erskin fire has charred 30,000 acres and destroyed 80 homes. some personal belongings can't be replaced, like his 1973 vw thing he wanted to give to his granddaughter. >> that's irreplaceable because i'm not going to build another engine and vw things are very rare. very hard to find. >> we are in the front yard of david's home. the only things that survived the fire, just a sign out in front. almost everything else is charred. he's already talked to his insurance agent about rebuilding his life.

in the meantime the names of the two people who died in the fire had have not been released and the cause is still under investigation. abc7 news. strike teams from the bay area have arrived in kern county to help with the firefighter efforts. gilroy fire tweeted this photo of santa clara county fire engines assembling before they went south. city of san mateo also sent crews the i-team learned two more santa clara county sheriff's deputies are on paid administrative leave. they are accused of an assault in an incident that happened more than a year ago. the guards reportedly punched and kicked an inmate, even though another officer told them to stop. one of the guards is alona simpson hogan. the santa clara department is under investigation for other beatings. three guards are charged with beating an inmate. we've reached out to the santa clara county sheriff's office

for more information on the latest case, but they say they cannot comment on personnel issues. also, protesters rallied in front of the hayward police officer last night demanding justice for a man who died two years ago in police custody. >> what do we want! >> justice. >> when do we want it! >> now! >> the rally was held on behalf of 46-year-old george grear, who died after being tased in a traffic stop. a traffic cam ma captured the incident. protesters attempted to speak with department of officials, but were unsuccessful. >> san francisco police are looking for two burglars who broke into a jewelry store and made off with what they believe is 2 million dollars in diamonds and gold chains. surveillance videos shows one of the men breaking into the grace jewelry on o'farrell street

tuesday morning. the owner said a call from his alarm company woke him up. then he watched as the thieves broke through the cases and stole his most expensive jewelry. >> all the items were either all gold or diamondbacks. the other items that don't have that much gold, they totally ignored them. >> police believe the men escaped in this ford sedan who was parked in a nearby garage san jose police are searching for the thieves who took off with an atm from a mini mart. surveillance video captured the entire incident just before 4:00 wednesday morning. you can see a station wagon crash into the store and two men rush in to take the atm. after they couldn't get it out, they smash the atm to free it, put it in the car and drove off. police found the station wagon a few hours later, but not the money or the thieves. time is 6:0ed. we are in for a warm day across the area. francis is tracking the latest conditions where you live. hi, francis. >> hi, chris. good morning, everyone.

this is abc7 news. >> good morning, everyone. here's a live look outside from our sutro tower camera on this saturday morning. we hope your morning is off to a great start. francis returns in a little bit with the accuweather forecast. >> the pentagon has announced they will repeal their ban on transgender service members. it could happen as early as next week. the decision ends a year of wrangling on how transon gender troops can serve openly. the military calls it a cultural sea change. >> this morning volunteers will install the pink triangle for pride week. it goes up every year atop twin peaks. the triangle is symbolic of a pink triangle used by the nazis during world war ii. now it's a triangle of pride.

senator mark leno will speak after the installation. it starts at 7:00 this morning. also as part of pride weekend on, it's the 23rd annual dike march in san francisco. the mission of the march is to bring them together to celebrate unity. there will be plenty of activities before the march, including live music and food. the march starts at 6:00 tonight at 18th and delores. >> as mentioned, pride weekend in san francisco is underway in morning. the transgender march kicked off the festivities. and tight security is expected throughout the weekend. we have the details. >> the trans-march started with a loud group in the audience boog mayor ed lee, a senator and another off the same. >> a lot of transgender friends are homeless, and i'm tired of people using our community as a prop. >> senator leno said there is a time and place for everything and now should be a time for unity.

>> we may have disagreements with ed lee. i have disagreements with ed lee. that's not the point. the mayor has never come to this event before. >> but he couldn't get through the whole interview without getting heckled. >> the march finally started and it was one of the biggest turnouts ever. >> it's nice to have them support you and everybody else here. >> nick marched with three generations of his family supporting him. with just two weeks since the orlando massacre at a paraguay club, security has been a concern for san francisco pride. there is an increased police presence. and clubs are doing thorough searches of every customer at the door. in honor of orlando a mural of the lookout bar is being auctioned off with all money going to the san francisco victim relief fund. >> for the parade, the floats are still under construction. >> it's the final touches. a bunch of people are going from

the west nile virus has been detected in this area. a bird was tested positive in san rafael. the dead bird was found near smith ran and yosemite road. animals who feed on the animal can transmit the disease to humans. symptoms are flu like symptoms like fever, headache and nausea. no human cases have been reported this year in california. police are warning beachgoers about a possible great white shark spotted in pacifica. someone saw it around 10:00 a.m. at lindamar beach yesterday morning. it's a popular spot for surfers. but they weren't too worried. >> i was debating to go out and then i decided the odds aren't that good i would get bit and it's a beautiful day so how could i say no? >> every time we saw a shadow or felt something at our feet we would scream and jump up. >> police posted signs in the area warning about the shark. we know many of you have plans

to head outside this weekend. let's get a check of the forecast with meteorologist frances dinglasan, who is in for lisa argen. >> hi, chris. i would avoid the shark-infested waters, even though it's a nice day to head to the beach. clear skies over the bay area right now. check out the carrying range of temperatures right now. so we have 45 degrees in half moon bay. san francisco 54. no had sought toe 48. but look as we head farther inland it's already 72 degrees in antioch. 63 in concord. mild right now in san jose. it's 61 degrees. so we have some nice weather ahead from sutro. we are looking out toward the beach. it will be pleasant there today, although it will be breezy, as well. heat alert for early next week wherein land areas could reach triple digits. with that in effect, the breezy conditions and the warm weather,

there's a red flag warning for tonight. gusts could reach up to higher levels. and these areas highlighted in red on the map. be extra careful. if you are heading to the beach, and not including the sharks, there's a beach hazard statement in effect through tonight. strong rip currents, large breakers especially for the north bay and the monterey bay area. but today you can expect temperatures to be above average in many spots. so they range quite a bit. we've got 66 in half moon bay. breezy at the coast and 72 in san francisco. even some low 80s around the bay. 85 in palo alto. 88 in san jose. all the way up to 98 in antioch. look for low 90s through santa rosa, napa. 80s vallejo and in richmond. a lot of folks heading to san francisco this weekend. here's what you can expect. plenty of sunshine with a rest wind about 20 to 30 miles an hour this afternoon. so it will feel pretty breezy.

temperatures will hold steady for tomorrow with a lot of sunshine and overnight lows will be in the 50s. also, a lot of folks heading to the sonoma raceway. and there you will need the sunscreen and a drink and a hatteberg because temperatures will be in the low 90s with overnight lows in the mid-50s. for tonight's giants game, here's what you can expect. at about 7:00 this evening it will be 60 degrees, sun sets at 8:36 and temperatures dropping down to 66 degrees by the time the game ends. i want to show you a look at the week ahead in santa rosa, for example. the average high is 81. we are well above that almost all week. and monday and tuesday is when we will be near 100 degrees. that will be the warmest day for most inland locations. you see that here with the accuweather seven-day forecast. hot today and tomorrow but the heat alert monday and tuesday where we see triple digits in inland neighborhoods. around the bay temperatures in

berkeley confirmed the planet neptune has a new spot. first one identified in the 21st century. to you and me there's nothing special about this picture of neptune from the hubbell telescope, but to astronomers this is a big deal. the dark spot represents what is called a dark vortex. it's 3,000 miles long. the discovery helps scientists better understand the atmosphere of neptune. the george lucas museum will be coming to california, not chicago. yesterday the "star wars" creator said he's done with chicago as a possible site for his museum of narrative art and will bring it back to california, but didn't say where. he said the delay is from a hatfield by a parks group development forced his hand. he tried to get it built in san francisco but was rejected by the presidio trust. mayor ed lee is proposing sites on treasure island and on the embarcadero south of the bay bridge. the mayor of los angeles is also jumping in saying his city would be the perfect place for the

center today and tomorrow. not only will there be metal detectors at each entrance, but all bags will be checked as a precaution. >> this is the first time the pride is doing this. it's obviously a big change. it will slow down getting into the civic center plaza festival. again, it's not something anybody ever wanted to do. >> there won't be metal detectors at tomorrow's parade, but there will be extra police patrols. nightclub owners are also strengthening security. about san francisco has activated their emergency operations center to coordinate resources for pride events. today will be pink. the huge street party which coincides with the start of pride week in san francisco had been cancelled after no one wanted to host it. now its back, but it won't happen in the castro like it used to. reporter lyanne melendez explains.

>> reporter: twelfth and harrison streets in the south of market district will be the new location for pink saturday. inside this parking lot across the street from sf eagle bar. the event host bid the sisters of perpetual indulgence was always held in the castro. >> we wanted to be really based in the community, run by the community. it will be smaller and safer >> for nearly 25 years, the sisters of perpetual indulgence have hosted one of the biggest parties in the hgbt communities. one that also became the biggest make for residences and businesses in the castro. the last pink saturday held in 2014 was marred by violence. the sisters, a non-profit organization, decided it was unmanageable. and while last year another

organization held pink party. this year there were no takers until the sisters had a change of heart. >> we are taking the name back. absolutely. pink saturday is ours and always will be ours. >> most businesses in the castro hope the crowds will end up at pink saturday 1.5 miles away. >> it kind of makes sense to scale it down and take it a step back. you know, we want people to be safe. >> this time there will be a ten dollars entrance fee. part of the money will help pay for security, and the rest of the proceeds will go to the victims and families of the orlando shooting. one of the owners of sf eagle said he doesn't want this event to disappear like halloween in the castro did several years ago. >> there's no need for another big party that celebrates community to disappear because of violence. >> pink saturday runs from 3:00 to 10:00 in the evening. in san francisco, leeann melendez, abc7 news. with huge crowds expected for the pride celebration this weekend, there will be a lot of road closers in san francisco. the area around civic center will be closed both today and tomorrow. and market street from beale to eighth will be closed tomorrow for the pride parade. muni will reroute buses away from the closers. the agency is asking people to say muni, metro or bart to get around the closers. we are using our abc7 news

inspected and have a permit. last summer the lafayette >> housing activists said they cannot remember a bigger rent hike in san francisco. a landlord jackson up his tenant's rent for 425%, and now wants to evict him because he can't pay, even though the tenant is appealing the rent. >> this apartment building sits in the heart of north beach at the corner of columbus and scotland street. it's also famous. scenes from clint eastwood's 1988 movie "the dead pool" were shot here. check the view from apartment 25 where tenant neil hutchinson lives. >> i've lived here a long time. i pay my rent on time. >> but apparently that wasn't enough to satisfy his landlord. he raised his rent from $1,800 a month to a whopping $8,000 a month. no reason given. >> i basically have been hit with a rent increase of 400%. i don't know where i'm going to go if i have to leave here. >> scott weaver is with the san francisco tenants union. he's fought a lot of huge rent increases. >> i don't know if there's been one that large.

there could have been, but i don't remember one. >> the rent hike went into effect at the beginning of this month. in the meantime hutchinson filed an appeal with the san francisco rent board, which adjudicates issues like this. they will decide in early august or so. but suddenly the landlord served an eviction notice. hutchinson now has to get out by july 21st, weeks before that decision comes. >> so i could be evicted before that decision even comes through. i honestly don't know what i'm going to do. i'm struggling here. >> hutchinson's lawyer said she'll file a response to the eviction next week to buy her client more time. the landlord has yet to return our calls. vic lee, abc7 news. the world's ugliest dog, 2016, sweepee-rambo! travelers not going to the race are add advised to avoid the area entirely, if possible. race fans are encouraged to leave extra time for traffic. with so much to do this weekend, let's get to the full accuweather forecast with meteorologist frances dinglasan. good morning. >> good morning. blue skies over the bay area with live doppler 7hd. it will be sunny and warm today. temperatures right now range quite a bit, from 45 in half moon bay, 52 in san francisco, all the way up to 73 in antioch. concord currently at 63 degrees. fremont 66, san jose at 61 degrees. a pretty shot for you of the golden gate bridge. breeze is light right now but it will pick up this afternoon. a sunny and breezy day ahead. a heat alert for early next week where we could see some inland numbers reach triple digits, especially on monday and tuesday. so we have breezy conditions, warm weather. that means a red flag warning in effect for parts of solano county and areas north of that highlighted in red. this is in effect until 6:00

p.m. saturday. gusts up to 25 miles an hour with the low humidity, increased fire danger for those areas. also, in addition to that, we have beach hazard through this evening. this is for the north bay coast and the monterey coast. strong rip currents and large breakers, so be extra careful if you are headed to the coast and beach today. highs will be warm in the south bay. 88 in san jose. even mid-90s through morgan hill and gilroy. look for low to mid-80s in palo alto this afternoon. if you are head today the earthquake soccer game at stanford, temperatures will start to be more comfortable. in the mid-70s by that time. in the coast still cool. that's where we see the 60s. 64 daly city. downtown san francisco getting up to 74 degrees. breezy conditions, as well, for parts of the north bay with the sonoma napa area. you are getting into the low 90s if you are headed to the raceway. you want to your sunscreen and hat because it will be hot out there. temperatures a little bit more

comfortable through berkeley and oakland to low 80s in union city and fremont. inland numbers still hot once again. temperatures reaching near 100 in brentwood. and in pleasanton, 9 about degrees. 94 in walnut creek. still going to be hot for most of the week. if you are headed to the giants game tonight, in addition to the traffic, temperatures will be cooling off to 62 degrees for the game. start time at 7:15. sunset at 8:36 and dropping to the upper 50s by the time the game ends. also, a lot of folks headed to the pride celebration parade tomorrow. what you can expect, some patchy fog early in the morning, possibly still lingering by 10:00 in the morning. temperatures will start to crime in the afternoon to the upper 60s with breezy conditions, as well. and then they will start to drop down toward the 7:00 hour. now here's the accuweather seven-day forecast. so we've got hot inland numbers today." temperatures hold fairly steady

and that turns out to be the game winner. a's win it by a score of 7-4. the warriors, they have dreams of landing kevin durant in free agency, will get in line. so will everybody else. the good news are the warriors are in line. durant will meet with at least three teams, the warriors, spurs, and his current employers, the thunder. maybe a couple other teams as well. he's going to listen to sales pitches to why he should join a new team or stay in k.c. the thunder has veteran draft night. he might be able to win a title with any of the three teams. free agency begins on july 1st. the warriors just introduced their new draftees. vanderbilt center damian jones. and patrick mccaud. jones is recovering from surgery on a torn pectoral muscle and could be out four to six months. the other is 6'7", 180. long, versatile, the kind of players the warriors love. they will become part of a new overhauled bench.
