live from the kgo-tv broad waste center this is abc7 news. >> isis targeting san francisco a just released propaganda video calling for attacks in the bay area and other popular tourist spots in the country. i'm larry beil in for dan ashley. >> i'm ama daetz. let's take a live picture from the golden gate bridge. it is one of the landmarks shown in the video. >> local and federal law enforcement are responding. here is melanie woodrow with the developing story. >> the nearly 10-minute isis video celebrates the orlando nightclub shooting and names targets in las vegas and san francisco. the video features the iconic golden gate bridge and buildings in the financial district. spokespeople with sfpd and the fbi say they are aware of the video, but there are no

credible threats to the bay area. retired military mc runs a nonprofit. >> they should be concerned. isis is not just about spewing things out. when isis tells you they are going to do something, they typically do it. >> the video features clips of a press conference. the council on american islamic relations is condemning violence. >> there is a fine line that american muslims are walking. presidential candidates are spreading fear of the community and at the same time extremists and terrorists are threatening violence against our community. >> las vegas metro police say the video is not a credible threat, but an attempt by the treys group to inspire and motivate other lone actors. a spokesperson says anyone who expects radicalization of american citizens should call local law enforcement. melanie woodrow, abc7 news.

>> the abc7 news eye team has egg clue city -- exclusive new information about the oakland police sex scandal that spread to six other departments. >> the whole mess might have remained a secret if one officer would have answered a single phone call. dan noyes interviewed the teenager at the center of the controversy and joins us with the latest. dan? >> reporter: larry and ama, the young woman showed me text and photos of her having sex with officers. some paid, most did not. she felt she could get protection and information from them as she worked the streets. the 18-year-old who calls her celeste tells me she had sex with more than 30 bay area police officers, sergeants and captains, four when she was underage including oakland officer brendan o'brian. she met o'brian as she ran away from a pimp on international boulevard. >> he started chasing me down the block. >> the pimp did? >> yes. he came and saved me. >> texts she shared with me

showed they were close. o'brian wrote there is no women in my life. she said i don't believe you. he responds except for you, i'm serious. >> we tell each other, but he knew what it was. >> you said you were seeing others including other officers. >> yeah, he knew i was seeing other officers too. >> last august celeste went to puerto rico to celebrate her 18th birthday. on the last night she was alone in a rough area and drunk in a bikini and the sun going down and her cell phone on the verge of dying. she called brendan o'brian for help, but he didn't pick up. she saw he was active on facebook and thought he was ignoring her. >> had i not been drinking i wouldn't have said a lot of the things i said. >> they argued by text and she threatened to tell her superiors that he had sex with her when she was 17. o'brian did not take it well. >> the last conversation with you by text he mentioned hurting himself. >> he said how would you feel

if i died? >> celeste sent him a screen shot to a message to an opd sergeant in which she revealed their underage sex and named other officers she was involved with as well. autopsy results show brendan o'brian shot himself within hours or minutes of that exchange with celeste. the veteran was wearing his marine corp t-shirt. in his suicide note sources tell the eye team that he cited the pressure of his wife's suicide in that same apartment the year before. he also said celeste was black mailing him. >> he said he thought you were trying to black mail him. was that the case? >> no. >> also in the note he said he never had sex with her. >> is that true? >> no, it's not true. >> o'brian's suicide note sparked the investigation that has now spread to se law enforcement agencies. at the center of it, all of those texts and photos from celeste's cell phone. >> i didn't want none of this to come out or happen.

i feel bad. i peel -- i feel guilty because it was adult consensual fun. >> but if what celeste says was true several officers could be charged with statutory rape and others gave her information on undercover operations. tomorrow at 6:00, one opd officer had a tremendous positive impact on her at a young age, but his death on the job sent her spiraling into a world of prostitution. dan and ama? >> thank you. it was the debate in oakland as the city council decided whether to ban the transportation and the storage of coal in the city. >> abc7 news reporter lilian kim is live at oakland city hall with the decision made in the last two hours. lilian? >> ama it was a lively meeting and a lot of emotion and tension. in the end the vote wasn't even close. >> the vocal contingent of supporters went to the oakland

city council meeting chanting let us work. they believe a developer's plan to transport and ham coal would bring much needed jobs. >> it is not about coal. it is about really trying to help people give them some hope. >> but those pushing for a ban on coal blasted back saying the west oakland community was being misled. >> making us drink kool-aid laced with cyanide, brother. it might sound good. it might look good, but it is a trick. >> they say it would have serious consequences. members of community brought their children to make their point. >> we don't like getting asthma and sick because that just does president feel good. >> the terminal operator assured that the latest technology would keep the coal dust to a minimum. the city council wasn't convinced and they voted to ban the coal at the facility and the terminals throughout oakland. >> the land we are talking about belongs to the public and that land is for public

good. >> the decision may lead to lawsuits, a possibility that council members appear ready to take on. in oakland, lilian kim, abc7 news. now to sky 7hd showing the brushfire that threatened homes in santa cruz county forcing some homeowners to evacuate. tonight the flames are under control, but other problems persist. abc7 news reporter live in los gatos with the story. katie? >> dan, finally the drivers are getting some relief right now. we have just seen the taillights disappear. at one point both directions of highway 17 were shutdown, but now one southbound lane remains closed. traffic was a nightmare. but the homeowners in the line of fire had a tough night too. >> aircraft fought the flames from above as fires raced toward homes at 3:00 in the afternoon. >> there was smoke billowing right up here. >> her home was one of 20 threatened by the brushfire

and may have been sparked by a car fire on highway 17. >> i loaded my car with the stuff i would want to take if i had to evacuate. and turned my car so it was facing out so i wouldn't be too stuck. then i got the hose. >> while she hosed down the roof it was hit multiple times by tar retardant and so was chapman's truck. >> i grabbed the dog and threw him in the truck. >> a hundred firefighters along with help from above contained the fire at three acres. >> the fires are always ones that make the hair stand up at the back of your neck. there are saw lot of homes and people that live on real narrow and wind erodes. >> southbound 17 was closed for hours bringing traffic to a stand still. cars were backed up into downtown los gatos. firefighters will keep an eye on hotspots as long as it takes. abc7 news. >> new at 11:00, air b and b filed a lawsuit against the city of san francisco over a new rental law. it will require short-term

santa rose saw, berkeley -- santa rosa, berkeley and the bay area. 24 is abc7 news. >> state regulators are accusing six bay area firestone shops of fraud and failing to install important safety features on new tires. >> the accusation follows two years of undercover investigation. here is dan ashley with the story you will see only on 7. >> the state investigation started with consumer complaints about this firestone store at south land mall in hayward. the agents did five undercover operations using cars from a secret state auto lab. >> what we do is replicate the consumer experience. we prepare the vehicle to be a normal vehicle being driven by any california consumer. >> agents posed as customers asking for a smog which can

and oil change and other repairs. they allege firestone employees tried to sell a lot of services that the cars did not need. with price tags from 70 to 2600 dollars. then as the investigation was wrapping up they got a tip about a serious issue about other firestone locations. >> a safety feature that wasn't being instealed. >> the bureau chief is talking about parts for the tire pressure monitoring system. that's the feature that triggers a warning light if your tire is running low on air. the federal government has acquired tire pressure monitors since 2007. they are considered a critical safety feature, but they need servicing when you buy new tires. some types of cars require a rubber stamp and they will make sure everything is sealed up properly. but state investigators say some firestone stores are

charging without putting them on the tires. in some cases they sold the wrong parts altogether. agents did more than 30 undercover runs at stores all over california. in each case they bought at least one new tire and had it installed. 21 stores including six in the bay area charged for parts that were not installed. in all they found 101 causes for discipline including repeated fraud. the biggest problem. >> a safety issue because if not operating correctly they may not be aware of a low tire and experience a tire failure and be put in a hazardous condition. >> bridgestone, the company that owns firestone, refused to do an interview, but sent a statement saying in part once it was thoat fight by -- notified as to certain deficiencies, bridgestone launched an extensive internal investigation and shared our findings with the bureau and then implemented appropriate corrective actions.

state officials asked to revoke or suspend the firestone stores involved. they have now reached a settlement with firestone. but the details are being finalized and probably won't be public until next month. dan ashley, abc7 news. >> we posted the entire statement with a list of stores on our website at abc7news.com. >> the american red cross has apologized for a poster that some people found racist. it shows kids at a swimming pool and points out what's safe and not safe. if you look closely you can see the only children misbehaving are children of color. the red cross statement said it was not its intent to offend anyone. the poster has been removed from the app and partner facility. >> it is so hot. a good day to be in a pool if you have one. tomorrow will be the same. sandhya patel is here with how

long it will be sticking around. >> we will see the hot conditions again tomorrow and the inland areas with i will continue to bake. although tomorrow is the last of the triple digit days. live doppler hd is showing a few conditions. it was 109 in antioch. 601 in of a moon bay. a good 48-degree spread between coast and inland. our summer microclimate is here. it got up to 87 in san jose and it was warm in oakland, but not too hot. 76 oakland and 67 in san francisco. right now we are hanging on to some of the warmth inland where it is in the 70s and the 80s. right along the coast and around the bay it is comfortable in the 50s and 60s. a live look from the abc7 news exploratorium camera. you are looking toward the financial district of san francisco. a heat alert is up again for tomorrow just a word of caution. stay hydrated and

stay cool. one more day of triple digits inland and then a cooler pattern by week's end. it will be noticible by then. we have a spare the air alert. the rest of the bay area will be looking at moderate air quality. once the sea breeze strng thens it will help to clean out the air as well. tomorrow morning it is starting out with fog near the coastline. temperatures are manically in the 50s. but you get inland and this is where the mildest readings will be in the low to mid60s. it is going to be clear in our inland valleys. here's what will happen tomorrow afternoon. temperatures will sore quickly in places like morgan hill and gilroy and midto upper 90s tomorrow. 89 in san jose and 86 sunnyvale. you are looking at temperatures in the upper 70s to the mid80s from san mateo to redwood city. 60 in half moon bay where the fog will linger well into the afternoon. daly city 61 and downtown san francisco 68 degrees. the sun is shining in the north bay and you will see a wide range of temperatures from those 60s at the coast to the

triple digits and ukiah and cloverdale. 93 santa rosa. 83 in novato and getting up to 84 in san rafael. east bay is 80 richmond and 78 oakland and inland areas this is where it is going to be cooking. 100 degrees in concord and 101 walnut creek. 103 degrees in antioch. you will need the sunscreen and you will need that extra water. when we fast forward to the end of the workweek, by friday we will be looking at temperatures dropping inland. it is so warm there. coastal area is mild and then on saturday it is cooler, noticeably cooler. 80s inland and 60s coast side. 60s to 80s and 90s. here is a look at the bay bridge series. giants host the a's and we are looking at nice weather. a little breezy dropping to the mid50s. a look at the accu-weather forecast. a heat alert for tomorrow. and then we will keep you in 90s inland for a few days.

rescue crews made some progress today trying to free a blue whale that is entangled in crab trap lines near orange county. they have managed to cutaway some of the fishing line and gear that was weighing the whale's head down. tomorrow they will try to remove a line wrapped around the flipper. this is the 40th blue whale reported to be entangled off the west coast this year which is on pace to be a record. >> an unfortunate one. in sports tonight the
