i liked the way he treated my mom. the way he treated me, and stuff. >> he was a calming, positive influence after what had been a tumultuous childhood. then, hegge performed what he thought was a routine traffic stop but was gunned down by a wanted suspect. it hit her hard. >> what kind of a blow was that when he passed away? did that impact you? >> yes. it was really sad. >> reporter: within months, she succumbed to the drugs and prostitution she saw in her neighborhood. at age 12, she tells me she took money for sex for the first time. >> if john were still around would you have you gone that way? >> no. there is no way.

>> reporter: she said john higge would not have allowed it. she says she started using friends' houses and she had sex with a cop at 16. her mother's friend from oakland pd. she says she's had sex with more than 30 officer rz perfect seven law enforcement agencies. she expected information and protection from them, she said only three paid her. >> when did your mom find out you were taking money for sex? >> a month ago. >> may 6th, she had date with a man. >> he proposed to me. he was like saying i love you and i tried leaving. he locked me in the house and left. >> reporter: she shouted to a neighbor who helped her escape and called police. the cops called her mother, the oakland police dispatcher. >> is she taking it okay? >> yes. she sees the negativity i'm getting from everybody else.

city of oakley. police aren't saying much about the cause of the accident. we do know police confirmed what appears to be one young teenager dying here, another injured. now, if we take a look at video shot here you can see along east cypress road left behind from that crash officials towed what appeared to be a gold and silver station wagon. one died here and a second suffered critical injuries and was mroen to childrens hospital, oakland. now, let's take a look at a view of the accident scene from

7. virtually shutting down access between oakland and police head up this investigation again. teens struck from behind by a car, one teen killed and another, injured. police are investigating a double shooting this afternoon by san jose state greek row. sky 7 was over the scene at 11th and east san antonio police are looking for spekdz.

>> no word on how long it will be, and also, the crime spread throughout multiple blocks. the shooting happened around two chn 15 this afternoon. two men were shot and police have to reason to believe it's expected to any nearby fraternities. police say the vehicle was shot at multiple times. >> we found multiple shots in the area. the vehicle was hit and that is indicative of a shooting.

so far, police have not identified or located any suspects. it is worm noting this is the 21 homicide of the year. last year, the city had 10 homicides so the number more than doubled. police say a murder outside of a celebration for a baby is gang related. they made two a 28-year-old confirmed gang member was shot and killed may 16 and police say several rival gangs were at the party. >> these are not gangs we see in

our sister station in los angeles has the story. >> this is the aftermath of a crash that occurred along the 5 south this morning. six people were killed, all inside of this charred minivan. >> we were the first ones on the scene. >> this chp officer says the minivan, carrying two families collided with his black bmw, at that point it was not injury. the van coming to a stop on the right shoulder, partially blocking the slow lane, both men were outside of the van, looking over the damage according to chp, the minivan was struck by by a semi truck at roughly 55 miles per hour. the van bursting into flames, the two women and their children, still inside. >> it was horrific seeing them trying to get the families out, us trying to help. the van went up in flames quickly. there wasn't a lot we can do. >> the bodies of both women and four children removed hours

later. this afternoon, the mep were identified as bay area residents. >> they have burns on their arms, and faces and that from trying to get their families out. >> chp says the van was a rental. they believe the two families may have been on the road for a family vacation to southern california and those injuries suffered were a indication of what they must have gone through to try to save their families. the wives have not been identified but the california highway patrol released ages of the children, they were 2, 3, 4, and 5 years old. reporting in valencia, abc7 news. volkswagon reached a settlement with the federal government in the emissions scandal involving diesel vehicles. 475,000 vehicles are affected. the auto maker agreed to pay $15
