special coin given to her by president obama. she is traumaized physically and emotionally. >> 94-year-old betty reid soskin is the onliest park ranger in the united states. she was honored for her work by president obama and awarded this special coin last december. now, she is recovering from a terrifying home invasion that last her with black areas and a split lip. police say the intruder stole julie, electronics and the presidential coin. >> that was her most cherished item and it is priceless. we want that back. >> lieutenant with the richmond police department said show was asleep at midnight someone break into her town home. the suspect forced entry through a sliding glass door. betty reid soskin tried to call 9-1-1 but he grabbed the phone and beat her. >> he continued with his assault and started to punch the victim who is 94 years old.

he punched her several times in her face. she lost her balance and fell to the floor. >> betty reid soskin crawled away and hid in her bathroom. police do not know in she was targeted or in this was random. they are outraged by the violent attack on a loved and respected member of the community. they are reach out to the public hoping someone saw something that night or has come across that coin. >> it was very dark so she did not get a good look at her attacker. she told police she believes he was in the early to mid-50s at 5' 8" with thin or medium build. >> we did a special profile on betty reid soskin in 2013 and she said in her almost ten century of life she was in stranger to threats and violence. during world war ii she was a clerk for the all african-american boilers makers

theater could be connected to a killing early this week. the most recent stabbing happened yesterday afternoon at the roxy stadium theater. the 21-year-old victim is in critical condition. police say a stranger came up from behind the man, stabbed him in the throat, arm and lung. the attack was ran democrat. officers arrested a 23-year-old map outside the theater. all the other stabbing in santa rosa this week, it happened on monday. the homeless mandated. the press democrat reports that he was stabbed 50 times in a doorway where he was sometimes sleeping. a chef's night was found near the victim's body. >> fremont police need your help to traffic accident down a hit-and-run driver who killed a 6 a year old woman. it happened on tuesday near the bart station. witnesses say the driver never stopped after run over the woman. she was rushed to a local hospital. she later died from the injuries. police have fought released the identity but say that she is from union city. witnesses say the car that hit her was silver or gray s.u.v.
