eckleston has the latest developments. >> reporter: gunfire echoed through the streets of dhaka. as swat teamed stormed a restaurant, ending a standoff with gunmen who had taken dozen of hostages and renewed to negotiate. >> interpreter: out of the seven terrorist six were killed and we arrested one suspected terrorist. 20 hostages and two police officers died,s' hostages were rescued. isis claims responsibility for the attacks saying it targeted foreigners. this is one of two students from emory university who died in the attack. her family lives in miami. one of the three victims is a u.s. citizen. the popular restaurant in the capital of diplomatic area was packed at the end of another day-long fest during ramadan.

the restaurant's supervisor described how he managed to escape when the terrorists first fired their weapons. >> interpreter: i saw two of them. the pair were firing. taking positions in front of our pizza kitchen so they initiate the attack from that position. people ducked for cover or started to run. i managed to make it on to the roof of the building. they were throwing bombs and the windows were shaking. >> no word yet of the condition of the arrested gun meb. abc news, london. >> today at the scone of the attack you see a strong military and police presence. a former u.s. ambassador to bangladesh says the attackers, who are believed to be bangladesh, picked their targets carefully and were trying to send two messages, they don't kildee vat muslims and the bangladesh cannot protect people in the country. cornell bernard is live in perkily with more.

>> reporter: friends of tarishi jain will hold a memorial village only tuesday to remember a young woman who was well on her way to helping others. >> i mean i just came back from indiana yesterday and i woke up to this tragic news. >> reporter: the news was painful for cal students to hear their friend, 19-year-old sophomore, tarishi jain was one of 20 hostages killed at a bangladesh restaurant by isil militants. >> it could happen to any of us. >> tarishi was an indian citizen on vacation in bangladesh, visiting her father who owns a been. friends say despite her young age she was becoming a real humanitarian who wanted to give back. >> every time i met her it was evident, very ambitious, very strong. >> to risha was involved in a company called ethical apparel, the company's marketing vp told us to risha was a person to get up and experience the sunrise. that's how i'll remember her.

let go hour-by-hour and show you the marine layer thickening, pushing inland. sunday morning, first thing, most of news the bay area waking up to low clouds. by 10:00 it really pulls back to the coast. a quick amount of sunshine except for the coast, like today. those clouds are going to linger for much of sunday. highs similar to today. 63, san francisco, 83, concord. 69, oakland. 81 san jose, santa rosa, a temperature of 78 degrees. one thing to keep in mine if you are headed to the coast through monday, we do have the combination of strong rip currents but very cold ocean water temperatures. that means take extra caution if you are headed to area beaches. folks at the beaches in santa cruz, live look, limited sunshine. a lot of low clouds and we'll duplicate that picture on sunday.
