underpass at 580. the glow mike said he could see the glow before the fire. expect delays if they don't get it cleared up by the time the morning commute gets under way in full effect. i saw this orange glow in the marine layer clouds and thought this doesn't look right. the winds blowing northeast in oakland and heading up towards emeryville and berkeley, pushing to the north. berkeley getting a lot of smoke out of this system. look at the rest of the winds, specifically fairfield 25. another fast sea breeze means temperatures below average once again. see emeryville. 70s to near 80s inland. >> thank you, mike. more on the fire as we get it. oscar pistorius is going to prison. we have the decision that came down while you were sleeping.

>> reporter: reggie, known as the blade runner sentenced overnight to six years in prison for the murder of miss girlfriend reeva steenkamp and i want to show you video from the proceedings. pistorius is in a holding cell and then taken to prison. his defense team will reportedly not appeal the sentencing. pistorius could be eligible for parole in a few years. >> in the result the sentence i impose on the accused for the murder of the deceased that is reeva steenkamp is six years imprisonment. >> you may remember that the 27-year-old athelete found guilty in 2014 of culpable homicide and then the whole thing was overturned by the south african supreme court and upgraded the charge to murder. pistorius' lawyers tried to fight that but as we see today,

the athlete's camp lost that appeal and serving six years in prison for murder. back to you. >> thank you so much. drivers in san jose are afraid that they could be the next target of a gunman shooting cars. police say four drivers hit by gun fire since may on blossom hill road. two drivers have been hurt so far. one grazed by a bullet. the other hit by shrapnel or glass. extra police are patrolling that area. another twist this morning in the sex crime investigation involving police and underage girl. the contra costa county public defender looking into cases handled by five police officers and a former deputy. they're accused of having sex with the woman there. she told the i-team she had sex with more than 30 officers here in the bay area. some of the richmond officers under investigation now made prostitution arrests.

the public defender wants to know if they were influenced by their actions and richmond's police chief said i'm sorry that this matter brings embarrassment to the professional men and women of the richmond police department and to our community. a policeman retired. the examiner's reporting the sergeant left the force last month rather than be fired a 1-year veteran. the department used he used language with racial and sexual undertones at bay view station. happening today in the north bay, two teens charged with killing a nevada high school student scheduled to answer their plea in court. 17-year-old juan carlos martinez enriquez and 16-year-old edwin gavara are charged with murder and an alleged murder. last thursday, the pair delayed entering the employees and expected to be in court at 9:00 this morning.

republicans say they'll not let hillary clinton go. they plan to ask fbi director james comey to testify on capitol hill about the recommendation to not prosecute clinton for private e-mail server use. house speaker paul ryan wants to know comey suggested that she committed no crime. meanwhile, donald trump accused attorney general lynch of taking a bribe from the presumptive democratic nominee after clinton said she may keep lynch on as a.g. in the administration. >> the attorney general saying if i get hillary off the hook i get four or eight more years and loses i'm out of a job. it's a bribe. >> critics say republicans are acting like spoiled children. 6:30 this morning, the removal of the fourth of five trusses of the old eastern span of the bay bridge will begin. the truss lowered and then taken to the port of oakland to be

broken down and work takes about two days. in may, you may remember workers found a discovery of eggs. they plan to work with the bird deterrent contractor today. a large crowd expected to protest a proposed condo project in oakland tonight. at issue is the development at the clairemont hotel. the plan for condo where the hotel's three-tiered parking lot stands now. opponents are worried about congestion on tunnel road and the impact on wildlife and water sources. that meeting at 6:00 at oakland city hall. a pair of hikers lost are safe and sound this morning. happened at sugar loaf ridge state park. there's a report they called for help after nearly seven hours of hiking saying they were exhausted and dehydrated. a chp helicopter was launched to find them who told dispatchers they were on a fire road.

updating you on breaking news this morning on the ek riville oakland border. you can see how big the fire is. we got an update. they say this is a six-alarm fire. >> yeah. destroyed an apartment building under construction at the time. this is what it looked like at the height of the flames before we went on air at 4:30 this morning. you can see the building really just falling apart here. since then, the flames have died down a little bit. we have a crew on that scene. the cause of the fire under investigation and, of course bringing you updates as they come in. a man is in custody this morning after, take a look terrifying attempted kidnapping
