media. the long standoff in the tenderloin district, the man underwent surgery and we're not told why. it shut down part of market street and he was hit by beanbag rounds fired by officers and they also fired flash grenades to help take him into custody. the huge fire on the emoryville border is still smoking today. firefighters are on the scene as investigators wait to get access with a team of elite experts. >> leslie has the latest. >> reporter: most of the dangerous construction crane was dismantled overnight. the rest of this is still fatigued metal that could collapse and it's still very much an active fire scene. it is not fully extinguished yet. no one, none of the inspectors

construction project and townho townhomes. atf is bringing in a national response unit. >> we have fire engineers and electrical engineers and chem t chemists and bringing k9 accelerant k9s and handlers. >> the team will work with local investigators starting friday once they get the okay, they'll comb through the debris looking for clues to what started this blaze. in emoryville. nbc7 news. a man is in the hospital after falling down a cliff in san francisco. the man was part of a crew working to stabilize the cliff when he got disconnected from his equipment and fell at least 50 feet. it was bad. firefighters brought the man down. he was conscious the whole time. that's encouraging. the rescue took almost two hours because of the rough terrain. time to turn to our weather.

we have new developments on the breaking news of this newscast, an investigation into possible shooting at the san francisco hospital. >> melanie joins us live with what she has just learned from police. >> reporter: we just learned from police there was not a shooting here despite initial reports, rather, officers found and expended m-80 device when they went inside this building, illegal firework. things are really ramping down from what we saw a couple hours ago. there is still a bomb squad vehicle here and handful of san francisco police officers as well as vehicles. things are ramping down. the building is now secure. people are allowed to go in and out of that building. they had been sheltering in

place. we know this happened on the fifth floor of the hospital at sf general. hospital officials say it is a building people go for routine appointments and have shots on that floor and other routine appointme appointments. officers will look at surveillance video to try to figure out who may have set off this illegal firework. they have no known suspect at this time and the great news is there were no injuries. we know coming off the fourth of july holiday how dangerous these illegal fireworks can be. not believed anybody was nearby this m-80 when it went off and no injuries. fsp had been the tactical lead on this situation, things ra ramping down and returning to normal and the streets should be open fairly soon. an expended m-80 device caused all this commotion this afternoon and police officers will be looking for who may have

other four chosen by a selection committee and announced for the competition. abc7 news. a frozen food part of a chain has a massive recall. >> it is a big name and big recall. conagra is recalling spicy chicken and mongolian style beef. metal fragments have been found and the company is recalling a few tons as a precaution and use by date of june 8th or june 17th. the wendy's hamburger chain said a recent data breach is far worse than originally thought. hackers stole data at more than 1,000 locations, three times more than previously reported. the targeted restaurants included seven in the bay area. let me show you a list.
