professor, husband and father gunned down. tonight san jose police say this was the man mysteriously shot and killed just days ago. good evening. i'm dan ashley. >> i'm ama daetz. today san jose police publicly identified 37-year-old david moglin as the man shot and killed last thursday night. how four days -- now four days later they have no suspect or motive in the death of the professor. >> they talked with moglin's widow and live at police headquarters. katie? >> i did, dan and ama. she doesn't have any idea what could happen either. she was visiting her family in tennessee the night of the shooting. >> the 37-year-old lived in san jose with his wife and two young daughters. his wife did not want to be identified, but told us they were married 10 years and david was a wonderful father. she shared these family photos with us and said david was a musician and songwriter and he released an album.

he was a well-liked economic instructor. he was teaching at foothill college for the past 12 years. >> this is completely out of the blue and very tragic. >> he is the dean of business and social sciences division. >> he cares pour his students and works hard for them and helps them with the difficult subject matter which is economics. >> david was teaching over the summer. his chat -- his classroom is dark and class canceled. he was shot after 10:00 p.m. at willow and first streets. police have not released information about a possible motive and who ever killed david is on the loose. his colleagues want to make sure he is never forgotten. >> we will look at setting up a memorial scholarship fund for david to keep his memory alive. >> foothill college is offering grief counseling to students. abc7 news. >> investigators in texas now

say a gunman was not targeting a bay area woman killed in a shooting over the weekend. san carlos resident and school bus driver was shot to death early on sunday on suksth street. >> on 6th street. they were visiting her family and they were going to get married in september. a suspect has been identified, but hasn't been arrested. concern is growing following another shooting on an east bay freeway. the 36th freeway shooting in nine months. abc7 news was in emeryville on eastbound 80 where the driver was shot in the head at 2:30. the victim is a man from oakland and he is in critical condition. the majority of the shootings are gang-related. new information on a possible case of excessive force by bart police. a police agency said they will launch an internal affairs investigation after an arrest at san francisco's embarcadero decision. video shows officers punching a robbery suspect in the head while he was restrained.

he became uncooperative and physically resisted the officers. they were viewed more than 120,000 times. >> a man died at a music festival over the weekend. at least 9 people rushed to the hospital during the two-day hard summer festival in san bernadino. three of them died including derrick leigh of san francisco. the coroner will, of course, determine the cause of death. this video is from the festival's facebook page. last year two people died and both deaths were drug-related. tonight we have new details on the posh san francisco skyscraper that is literally sinking into the ground. sky 7hd is over the millenium tower. the famous athletes and tech billionaires and other members of san francisco's elite call this luxury condo building home. >> they are live outside the tower where the concerned residents gathered for an important hoa meeting. lilian? >> i was told there was no

week. we are showing you why. it is about 2,000 feet deep. it has pushed into the north bay and it has socked in on the coastline. look at the smoke that is down near big is you. the north oosly wind direction -- the southeasterly wind direction pushed it toward the northeast which allowed the smoke layer to move into some of our south and east bay locations. look at this time lapse from the east bay hills camera. you can see the marine layer rushing in this evening and as the sun was getting ready to go down you will see the tinge of red there in the background due to the smoke in the fire. luckily the wind came in and started to disperse some of the smoke. they are saying the air quality is expected to be good for most of the bay area on tuesday and wednesday with the exception of the valley which is moderate. it is not going to be down near the surface. it will be in the higher layers of the at moss for. temperatures in the 50s and the 60s.

we are showing you what to expect tomorrow morning and that is gray skies as we look across the bay. the foggy morning with pachi drizzle. we are look at a cooler pattern late this week. tomorrow morning we ril start out with the 50 -- we will start out with the 50s. you may need to grab the extra thin layer as it starts out cool and foggy. here is the hour by hour forecast. 5:00 a.m. you will notice where the fog is sitting, and it will push into some of our inland valleys. at 7:00 a.m. it is stretching out toward the livermore valley, san ramon and down into the peninsula and oakland and richmond and napa and petaluma and santa rosa. the coast will be socked in. places like san francisco is also gray. 9:00 a.m. the fog pulls out and then into the evening hours most of the bay area will see sun with the exception of some lingering fog. you will still be dealing with smoke.

87 in the south bay and 81 in san jose and 79 in sunnyvale on the peninsula and you are looking at mid70s in san mateo and palo alto. 62 in half moon bay. the fog will be around part of the afternoon. 64 in downtown san francisco. north bay, santa rosa, a nice day like today. 70 in oakland and 75 newark. inland areas hazy and warm. 91 in livermore and 90 in concord and 92 in antioch. the temperatures will come up a few degrees. 90 the next two days and then notice the sharp drop in the temperatures thursday through saturday. upper 70s to low 80s. cooler than average as you look at the forecast. low 60s to low 90s and that's the summer spread for two days. the drizzle comes in for your thursday. the afternoon highs are only in the mid80s for the first half of your weekend. then the second half we will warm it up. ama and dan?
