abc7 news begins with breaking news. >> in palo alto, all lanes of northbound 101 are shut down after a deadly motorcycle crash. this is video showing the scene moments ago. >> this is near oregan express way and alexis is tracking the delays. >> alexis? >> not not great in the midday, northbound 101 beyond oregon express way. you can see the purple showing they are close to getting the far last lane back open. they have requested the tow truck. it does sound like the investigation is starting to wrap up. again, a big traffic alert, a sig-alert was issued at 9:15. the backup is six to seven miles

including what is spilled on to 237 and el camino is okay and 280 from the cupertino area is much better than 101. when you get that back open it will take a long-term to unwind. >> thank you for joining us. i am natasha zouves. >> i am reggie aqui. >> kristen sze is off. we are tracking the fire burning to the north, right now residents are allowed back into the home although the cold fire continues to rage, the mandatory evacuation order is being lifted 47300 acres are charred and now only 15% containment. you can see where the fire is burning near winters, the same year as the fire from two years ago. right new firefighters are concerned about erratic winds. amy hollyfield spoke with cal fire. >> they explained they went from 10% containment to 15%

containment and most of the work was done around the neighborhood. they dugout a first line to protect it and they wanted to lift the evacuation order and get life back to normal. >> residents get the all clear this morning, they were allowed back into the estates after being evacuated on tuesday. in was much relief the cold fire is no longer a threat to the area. >> everyone is feeling happy. they does a mighty fine job keeping the fire on that side. they do it every year. >> that side is an incredibly tough side. >> it is a challenging area for us, steep, rugged, nasa i terrain, very dry out here, and that mixed with the winds creates headaches. >> we found smoke billowing up near the dam this morning and firefighters say that is an indication that the fire could whip up here later this afternoon. they will focus their attack to try and calm it down.

>> they expected erratic winds in a drift direction so that is a concern. >> the fire has scorched 4,700 acres off highway 128 near the scan beyond creek resort. people who catch near the dam or live in the area say it is tough to watch this beauty burn. >> it is sad. it disturbs people but mostly wild live, horses, dogs, pets. it disturbs them probably more than us humans. the fire is burning in a north direction in a very steep area with a lot of steep canyons so no structures are lives are threatened. firefighters are hoping to turn a corner today and worried about the winds. yesterday afternoon, the winds caused the fire to jump one of their containment lines. >> thankful no one is hurt. >> new numbers out this morning show that this rageing fire

between big sur and carmel is getting fire. the soberanes fire now has grown to 51,000 acres. containment is at 27%. trails and roads in the forest are still closed and the fire break out july 22. official say someone left an illegal campfire unattended. >> there could be changes in the weather ahead. mike nicco is tracking the conditions. mike? >> we will start with the cold fire. wish we could bring the damp cool air sit on san francisco and push it up there, so far it has been cool this morning whether you are 950 feet or at 2,000 feet the temperature are in the 50s and humidity is above 80% the winds have not kicked you. they will this afternoon and come from the west and be around 15-20 miles per hour pushing the smoke into the central valley. for the soberanes fire there is no relief. 82 in the hills. 26% humidity. the good news, like yesterday the winds are take all of the

new this morning, a c.h.p. officer is recovering after a motorcycle crash that sent him flying over hid motorcycle and the car in front of him. he was on the way to a crash in cupertino and he rear helped the driver. you can see sky 7 is over the scene, and this is northbound 280 south winchester boulevard. he went flying, he was up and walking after the crash. this happened after 8:30 a.m. c.h.p. said that the driver was cutting into the officer's lane at the time. the officer is scraped up but he is expected to be fine. the other driver is cooperating with investigators and could be cited for making an unsafe lane change. >> develop news in san francisco, convicted chinatown gang leader raymond "shrimp boy" chow faces sentencing in san francisco federal court. a jury convicted shrimp slip of 162 organized crime charges in january. the crimes include murder and racketeering. the murder conviction carries an automatic life sentence. a judge has turn down his appeal

to have the case dismissed. a grand jury indicted him and 28 other suspects two years ago, including former state senator yee who now is in prison. >> developing news in lake county where sheriff deputy say a pokemon go player stumbled upon a woman's body. now they want to know how she died. the sheriff said that the remaining were found in a field in the clear lake riviera area and we know the victim is 84. her name has not been released. >> marin county sheriff deputies are looking to see how a person died in the wilderness on mount tam. a hiker discovered someone lying motionless yesterday afternoon, and a rescue team used ropes to reap the person in a ravine off hidden meadow trail. there is no immediate sign of foul play. the victim could be a hiker who felled. law is a stand off in san francisco that has been going on for noons. police are on scene at a him on

>> from stockton the mayor of the city has been arrested the stock tan record reports file agents arrested him this morning at a city-run youth camp. the paper report he is accused of several crimes against children including providing alcohol to a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor and felony eavesdropping or recording confidential communications. the charges are less than a week after news broke that his miss gun was used in the murder of a 13-year-old boy in february of last year. silva is running for re-election in november. >> we all depend on 9-1-1 system to get help in a hurry but right now critical lifeline faces its own emergency right here in

refreshing change, upper 70s in san ramon and concord and pleasanton, and everyone else barely into the low-to-mid 80s. fur headed out this afternoon into the evening hours, you can see by 5:00, upper 50s at coast, away the bay, upper 60, for my 70s inland with the presses kicking in. it will feel much cooler than the 50s and 60. tonight, cloud cover, drizzle again and temperatures in the low-to-mid 50s. my seven-day outlook shows we get and the deepest part of the 8:00 air mass tomorrow and saturday and we will start to modify it a little bit by monday and tuesday and wednesday the temperatures are become where they should be. we will have a break and enjoy the coolness. >> i will take the break. ayou a grass roots effort has saved san francisco's legendary lgbt stud bar from chessing. the owner would have to sell because the landlord raised the rent 300% so a group of employees and patrons and lgbt business owners pooled their money to buy stud bar as a co-op
