>> reporter: no, not yet. not at least at this point in the investigation. the family that had been celebrating used a caterer out of the east bay and today alameda count health officials conducted an inspection at the caterer and did not find any evidence of cannabis. these are the gummy ring candies that made 19 people sick at a quinceanera on saturday night. the youngest patient experiencing symptoms just 6 years old. >> rapid heart rate, rapid blood pressure, dilated pupils, dizziness, light headedness, and lethargy and confusion. >> the candy tested positive for thc, the mabin greed yent in -- the main ingredient in marijuana. >> these kids see a candy and they eat it. >> the security guard called 911. of the 19 patients treated, blood tests for 12 came back

positive for thc. >> it is different. the onset could be slower and the duration could be longer. >> reporter: it was at the women's building in the mission district. >> the only thing we include with our rental is space and tables and chairs. >> reporter: the family used an east bay caterer. >> we want to make sure from this perspective that this wasn't an in tensional act by the caterer. >> reporter: the police are not released the caterer's name and alameda county environmental health determined where the food was prepared. writing in an e-mailed statement, there is no way to determine if cannabis was used at all on the premises, as no evidence was found during eh's inspection today. issues related to where the candy came from, who purchased it and who provided it among the edibles are a part of the investigation. >> as edible marijuana becomes more available, it is very important that we control how these edible products are available to the public.

>> reporter: in san francisco, melanie woodrow, abc 7 news. a woman from east palo alto is arrested in connection with nine bay area bank robbers. mary mappa is accused of acrime spree that started in june. they linked the heist in part to a wig found in her home. deputies also found cash and a handgun. they say she robbed banks in livermore, walnut hill, manteca, san mateo, palo alto and morgan hill. she is being held in jail. and deadly force has caused unrest in departments across the country and they are trying to provide officers with more nonlethal options and training. and today san jose police invited to see how training officers participate. and david louie took the class and is live at headquarters. that must have been fascinating. >> reporter: it was. and it is a way for the police to try to engender trust in the

size since it ignited on sunday afternoon. the pilot fire has scored more than 4500 acres and only 5% contained and 4700 homes now under evacuation. >> an all avenue out assault as water-dropping helicopters tackle this hillside burning close to a shuttered business. on the ground a bulldozer does a line in the dirt to cut off the flames path. the pilot fire burning since sunday tripping in acreage. >> so close that this home is covered in pink fire retard about. >> when they came in and made that drop, the power went out. >> as they drop it on me, at least i'm being protected. >> nichols operating on very little sleep after keeping a close eye on the fire overnight. >> you could hear it last night. you could hear the sound of the fire on the hill. >> he is one of a few residents who stayed behind his wife and three dozen of his neighbors evacuated. many took their animals to safety. even the wildlife got out of the

a first for santa clara county campus police at the foothill deanza college district that will carry a drug that can revive people who overdose on heroin with it reaching epidemic proportions here and across the country, many would rather be safe thansorry. the four bay area counties with the highest overdoses are alameda, contra costa, san francisco and santa clara. and chris ngen is live at the college in cupertino with the story. this is a bit alarming. >> reporter: and the most recent numbers from the cdc show that from 2000 to 2014 nearly half a million people died from a drug overdose. christmas poli campus police say if they could provent any death from happening, this program would be worth it. it was training day for police officers at the foothill college district.

meteorologist sandhya patel checking out our accuweather forecast. >> it is breezy out there. >> it is. it is typical around this time of year. it warms up inland and the sea breeze comes rushing in and behind me nothing but sunshine. let me show you live doppler 7 hd and we'll talk about what is ahead. we do have a few patches of fog hanging tough near the coast but for the rest of you, you are enjoying the sun. and compared to 24 hours ago some areas are running a few degrees warmer than yesterday. novato just came down to two degrees below. from our sutro tower camera, hard to see san francisco in the fog. 64 in san francisco. oakland 69. 79 in san jose and half moon bay is 59 degrees. from emeryville, the shallow marine layer toward sutro tower and the temperatures upper 80s around santa rosa, concord, 88 and low 70s at the beaches to low 90s inland. and from the mt. tam cam, you could count on the fog. not hot on the coast.

patchy coastal fog and mild to warm through mid-week and the warmest day is friday and saturday. and we'll take a look at that on the accuweather seven-day forecast in a moment. so the fog tomorrow morning will be limited to parts of the coastline. most areas will start off in the 50s. there may be a few patches of fog around the east bay as well. when you get going, don't be surprised if you run into pockets of very low visibility. as that marine layer will be shallow. tonight you see where the fog is sitting and at 5:00 a.m. the fog is from the san mateo coast toward the coastline and the fog clears most of the bay area except for a few locations. if you are heading to the boardwalk to santa cruz to enjoy the beach before kids head back to school, this is the time to do it. it is nice out there right now and that mild pattern will continue tomorrow. 75 degrees, mostly sunny and mild. with a uv index that is running high tomorrow. so you want to make sure your little ones have sunscreen on.

a big rig jackknifed and hit the center divider along interstate 880 and that blocks three lanes near davis street at 11:45 this morning. broken pietzs of the -- pieces of the divider landed in the lane. they had the lanes reopened in 45 minutes. lyft is making verbal communication between the customers and drivers a thing of the past. this week lyft customers who need to make multiple stops during a trip could input the extra destination with the app. before they needed to tell the drivers about the additional stops. lyft said the changes will benefit both customers and drivers. there is a huge shake-up in the world of streaming video. hulu will end the free service and transition to all subscription model and they have teamed up with yahoo to provide the free content on an ad supported team streaming site called yahoo view and it is owned by disney which also owns abc 7. australian researchers say

teenage gamers outperform their peers in math, reading and science. and they tested 12,000 15-year-olds using a bench mark assessment program and those who are regular gamers performed 17 points higher on science and 15 points above average on math and reading. by comparison, teenagers who were highly active on social media scored 4% below average. a former jockey who raced horses for years all over the bay area just hit his own jackpot outside of the track. sanchez won $750,000 on a $10 scratcher ticket last month. and it is not his only win. he took home $30,000 on the lottery big spin television show in 1998. the former jockey now trains horses and plans to invest with his winnings. who could resist watching a cotton candy maker spinning that delicious confection. >> the only thing better is getting a chance to eat it.
