abc7 news begins with breaking news. a child is injured after falling from a third story window. it happened this morning at this apartment building on the peninsula. i am kristen sze. investigators are trying to figure how thed to december fell located in foster city under the san mateo bridge. matt keller is at the foster city fire station. any word on the child's condition? >> i got an update from the foster city fire department and they say the child was airlifted to stanford medical center in serious condition. this all happened at 8:20 a.m. at a complex on east hillsdale

boulevard the 1 1/2-year-old was in a hall area on the third floor and looked out window and put his hands on a screen that gave way. he fell out the. firefighters arrived and started treating the child. when the helicopter arrive the measures took over and he was blown to stand for medical center. firefighters were not specific about the injuries to the boy but say they were consistent with a 20-25' fall. foster city police department is in charge of the investigation. >> thank you. interim san francisco police chief is meeting with faith leaders to reduce the use of deadly force in the department. he gave his first publication on whether he wants to lead the san francisco police department permanently. cornell barnard is in san francisco. cornell? >> we asked him if he wanted the job permanently and he said

will continue through negotiations. the berkeley city council will hold a special meeting today to consider modifying the city's minimum wage ballot measure in november. in june it was announce two proposals would be on ballot, one increase the minimum wage to $15 next year and the other in october of 2019. the city council will consider having one measure on the ballot but it is not clear which one. the city council will met at 6:00 at the old city hall. >> new this morning, macy's the largest accident store chain said it is closing 100 stores next year and that is thoroughly 15% of the stores. macy's is not saying where the closures will happen so we did not know how the bay area is affected. it means hundreds of employees will likely lose their job, and macy's is offering relocation, in possible. the retail giant wants to focus on stronger locations and would rather have fewer but better stores. >> taking a tough stand on the future of medical marijuana and the government now is saying that it may not be as beneficial
