whip up and did all of the damage yesterday. they are calling it the clayton fire and they describe the fire's behavior as "intense." 3,000 acres has burned. it is only 5% contained. those are the numbers from yesterday. we are expecting an update on the number and a better assess ment later this afternoon. hard to believe amy is in the middle of main street. all the hospital has been cleared until further notice and patients were evacuated. the hospital said that all patients were transferred to sutter lake side hospital in lakeport, about 28 miles apart. authorities called ambulances from around the county to move the patients. pg&e said that they have turned off powers to miles of lines to make it safer for the firefighters battling the

near cottonwood avenue just after 7:00 last night. a man was found suffering from stab wounds. he died at scene. police are not releasing the name or details on possible suspects. this is the eighth homicide for the year in haywood. >> police are investigating whether a man in a high speed chase is connected to shootings in the neighborhood. the pursuit topped 120 miles per hour. dispatch call shows the vehicle matched e description of a car involved in several shootings in blossom hill the past few months one driver is hyper aware. >> we work until look and when it is my time you have to watch out. that is that. >> the chase is not officially connected to the shooting, it does show the effort that the san jose police are making to try to catch the suspect.

>> milwaukee police say they are restoring order this morning after a second night of violence. police battled angry crowds after the deadly police shooting of 23-year-old smith on saturday. officials say smith was armed and had a lengthy criminal record. we saw several reports of shots fired during protests overnight. milwaukee police say they rushed one shooting victim to the hospital. we are also hearing from smith's sister. >> this is my brother, my protector, someone supposed to be there for me. [ inaudible ] i lost my brother. i can't get him back. >> an officer was hospitalized last night after someone threw a rock through his patrol car. >> san francisco police continue to really out body cameras. two stations shoulden fully equipped in the next few weeks. two san francisco police stations will provide cameras on all officers. 70 officers have started to wear

the cameras. every officer in the department will be trained and carrying by the end of the year. >> hundreds of santa clara clerks in court will run to work after an eight day strike. here is that story. the worker voted to ratify a tentative agreement and details of the deal have not been released. workers demand add pay raise during negotiations. the strike delayed cases at the court. bought sighs met last week with a mediator. >> menlo park police need your help to catch two masked men who robbed a trader's joes at gunpoint targeting this trader joe's after closing on saturday night. the detectives say they ordered the courts to lay on the ground, demanded cash and made off with undisclosed amount money. the robbers are described as two

it will be for the firefighters battling the flame. all the humidity never makes it there until late in the week. we have a return of the moisture. you will notice the drizzle. it is moving into inland east bay neighborhoods. 54 in danville. the cool spot is 60 in antioch. elsewhere, mid-to-upper 50s and san jose and los gatos at 60 and santa rosa we are at 52 and same in pacifica. this is how it looks from the exploritorium. that will be our background to show how cloudy and misty it is in san francisco. here is a look at the day planner: at 7:00, temperatures are not budging, mid-to-upper 50s the by noon, 57 at the coast and by 4:00, 58. 67 and mostly sunny around the bay at noon to 72 at 4:00. comfortable day. inland we will jump from 79 at noon to 90 at 4:00, and we will have 50s, 60s, and 70s by 7:00.

contracts to electrify the line between san francisco and south bay. they received a green light to move forward with the plans. two firms have agreed to deliver the infrastructure and high performance electric trains for the caltrain system that will accommodate more riders. caltrain will day but the community outreach office starting at 3:30 and happens this afternoon in san mateo. >> happening today, doughnut and coffee lovers, the bay area's second dunkin' donuts location is opening this morning and here is what the line looks like back in june when the first dunkin' donuts opened in the bay area in more than 15 years. this is in walnut creek. today, the peninsula's first dunkin' donuts opens up in half moon bay on san mateo road. but, first, people in line and the drive through will receive $100 gift card. doors open at 6:00 a.m. >> no one fight, please, over the doughnuts or gift card. >> they delicious.

where a destructive wildfire buns in lake county. the clayton fire started on saturday near lower lake and it expanded yesterday afternoon. it jumped the road with the help of winds and the high temperatures. so far, 3,000 acres have burned and right now it is only 5% contained. caltrain confirms at least ten structures have been destroyed but everyone who has been up there including our reporter amy hollyfield said it looks like many more buildings are gone. crews from all over the state have been called in to help on this and this morning, more than 500 homes are threatened, and have been evacuated. >> cruise are continuing search efforts today after finding a 5th body in the aftermath of an apartment complex fire in maryland. eight people are still picing. an explosion ripped through the complex on wednesday north of washington, dc, and you can see here that building engulfed in flames. officials can not link any victim to the eight people unaccounted for because no

bodies have been identified. >> it is business as usual again at new york city's john f. kennedy airport this morning after report of shots fired led to the evacuation of two terminals. this is video shot by a passenger inside one of the terminals. you can see chaos inside. the port authority police arrived 30 seconds after receiving reports of "shots fired," in two terminals one serve american airlines and another housing several foreign carriers. they say they found no evidence that any gun was ever fired. flights were delayed two hours. >> republican presidential nominee donald trump is in ohio giving a speech on plan to tackle terrorism. g.o.p. leaders hope donald trump can focus on issues rather than slashing out at democrats. >> i'm not running against crooked hillary clinton. i'm running against the cracked media. >> in connecticut yesterday, he blamed blunting poll number on

tonight and we will have building heat until late in the week and then it is breaking. our small craft advisory shows another one from 1:00 to 9:00, the usual areas north of the bay bridge all the way into the delta at 24 to 38 miles per hour wind during the afternoon ferry ride or just a leisurely time on the water. here are the temperatures today, 81, quick sunshine in san jose, sunnyvale, and 79 and warmer in los gatos at 88, and santa cruz is 71. on the peninsula today, cooler-than-average temperatures and san mateo is 74 and milbrae at 69. upper 70s around menlo park and redwood city and palo alto. headed through san francisco today, look at this, the sunset is only 56 and marina is 58. daly city is 58, downtown only 62 and breezy and as we head into the afternoon, we go from patchy fog to sunshine in the north bay, and from upper 70s to low 80s and along the east bay shore mist this morning and you may need the windshield wipers, low-to-mid 70s in many neighborhoods and a last stop we go inland east bay, upper 80s

to mid-90s and the heat will continue and here is my seven-day forecast, notice it goes up tomorrow, and more is on wednesday and then a cooling trend starts on thursday but you will really notice it, calmer and cooler weekend is coming at us. alexis, any hot spots? nothing too major. southbound 680, through walnut creek, starting to fill in, slightly. we can see the patchy fog on the traffic camera. no major issues. i also mention bart, a few minutes ago they were doing track inspections at daly city. that was from the weekend work that had the area fully clothed at glen park. tracks are back on. they are recovering, at continue-minute delay adeems in pittsburg and bay point and dublin/pleasanton directions. i will keep an eye on that. we are done with this for now. another traffic update in a few. >> many students will have the

parents a study showing a majority of moms and dads put their infants in unsafe sleep positions. that is according to the american academy of pediatrics. they videotaped parents to analyze behavior. the study is saying children are at risk because parents puts them on their side or stomach and use soft surface and loose bedding. those habits increase sleep-related infant deaths which are host common for babies between one month and one-year-old. >> a bill moving through the state legislature would allow women to get a area's worth of birth control pills at one time. right now insurance covers 30-90 day amounts which would make unintended pregnancies less likely because it reduces the chance of skipped doses, and the california right-to-life committee opposes the bill. the legislation has passed the senate and must be aproduct by the assembly before the end of august to go to the governor for
