circumstances in the death of scott who was a 15 year veteran of the force with two daughters. just as the transit agency is going to roll out an anti-violence campaign, the latest attack happened two days ago at van ness and bush. 10 days before that a driver was assaulted at 3rd and mission. live outside the bus nerm nal with new information. carolyn. >> reporter: the latest incident hae happened tuesday afternoon at van ness and bush by the driver of the 47 line and he was hit in the head with a skateboard. and earlier an operator said she was beaten by a motorist. the number seems to be on the rise. the transportation agency says there were 58 reported attacks on its operators last year compared to 24 in 2014.

there's more good passengers than bad. >> reporter: for the bad ones, if they're caught, they could face up to five years for assault. in san francisco, carolyn tyler, abc7 news. san francisco police are investigating an armed robbery on muni last night. it happened about 8:45 p.m., in the bayview district. where they woboarded a bus and held a knife on a 23-year-old man and demanded his backpack containing a cell phone and tablet and they forced the victim to get off the bus. tweeting out this picture of a stolen car, police arrested three people and found quite a bit of property, as you can see. all traced to several car burglaries in the city. a warning tonight for iphone users, update your software immedia immediately. a vulnerability could allow hackers to take complete control of your phone. they discovered company selling

in under a minute. he was having a seizure. at that point, i called 911. >> reporter: that call scrambled the crew of the contra costa sheriff's department called star 3. >> we were there in five minutes. >> reporter: that's deputy mike ireland preparing a 100 foot line with one end attached to the chopper and the other att h attached to him. while marylands got ready, mike flew in dangling from the chopper. the flight rescue crew put the victim in a harness like this one slung underneath the helicopter and lifted him to safety. instead of taking an hour to carry him three miles to safety, they flew him out in 11 minutes start to finish. he's now recovered but wasn't able to make today's ceremony. >> i feel good about it. we weren't rescue helicopters moving victims before and now we are. >> reporter: he means until a year ago the sheriff's helicopters were strictly law enforcement eyes in the sky,

after months of training they can now add saving lives to their resume. abc7 news. a federal judge has dismi dismissed a lawsuit filed by oakland, san jose and berkeley against chemical company monsanto. they wanted monsanto to pay for cleanup costs of pcb in the san francisco bay. they say they are still contaminating local waterways long after they were banned in 1979. in a ruling this week the judge said the city could not prove their case. caltrans is spending more than 1$1.5 million to make ashly avenue through berkeley more accessible to pedestrians and people with disabilities. the daily cal reports the state will widen sidewalks and make sure curbs are wheelchair accessible. it will be done on ashy avenue between 7th street and shadow avenue. they will be funding the work because ashy is a state hoying.
