arrests. in berkeley tonight, an out of control car slammed into the corner of a house just after 7:30 at stewart street. the engine of the car briefly was on fire, but that was quickly put out. the driver of the car suffered minor injuries. an inmate mistakenly released from a san francisco county jailed turned himself in this morning. victor rodriguez surrendered just before 9:00 a.m. and booked back into jail. he still had three months to serve when the sheriff's department let him go wednesday night. he was in jail for threatening to shoot deputies with an ak-47 rifle. former stanford swimmer brock turner has still not returned to ohio after serving a three-month sentence for rape. his parents have --

here's how the forecast is shaping up. tomorrow once again, we're still below normal. some ten degrees in a couple of spots on our sunday. by labor day on monday, we'll see the wind switch. they continue to climb into early next week, especially wednesday and thursday. temperatures finally above normal and feeling like summer. so the warmth is on its way. future weather, watch the time stamp up here, 7:00 in the morning. it looks like the majority of the cloud cover, south of the golden gate and confined to the south bay on saturday. quickly clearing to the coast, and even the coast tomorrow afternoon, going to see a good amount of sunshine. that means going to see temperatures one or two degrees warmer tomorrow than we were today. in the south day, here is how it's breaking down for you. typical for this time of the year, mid to upper 80s.

between a white house aide and chinese official. investigators have found the remains of a boy who has been missing for three decades. in 199, a masked gunman abducted jacob. investigators reopened the case last year, which led them to this suspect. he led investigators to the boy's remains in minnesota. he goes to trial on separate child porn charges in october. treasure hunters in southern california turned to social media to help reunite a woman. they found the gold class ring with the name charlotte kim. people saw the ring and contacted the owner. kim's father had sought that ring for more than 30 years, but she lost it while volunteering at the church in 2006.

a biologist is developing a game using rovers to save desert tortoises from extinction. the rovers help observe the behavior of the animals. from 2004 to 2014, the desert tortoise population declined 32%. the hope is these rovers will help save the population. a few miles from civilization out in the woods this labor day weekend, guess what? there's an app for that. jonathan bloom explains a peninsula park district wants your help in preserving nature, and all you need is a smartphone. >> reporter: california's state flower is yellow. but so is this. >> this is yellow scar thistle,
