(laughter) >> well, one of her more adventurous sides is expressed with makeup... >> mm-hmm. >> ...so we asked her to reveal some of her tricks, and to give us an extra hand is our friend and celebrity makeup artist jessica hoffman. welcome. >> hi. thank you for having me back. hi, nicole. >> this is gonna be really fun. so basically we're recreating nicole's look on our fabulous model sydney here, right? >> right. and when we're talking about bold makeup, i have to begin with a very important makeup tip and that is-- we all know it-- but that confidence doesn't come from your makeup. it comes from knowing who you are, owning who you are, and being totally grateful for all of it, right, girls? so, with that in mind, take the beauty tips we're gonna show you and tailor it for you. >> cool. >> okay. now, brows, you have to begin with the brow, right? >> i'm obsessed with the brow. >> your shape too by the way is beautiful. do you do your own? >> i'm actually trying to grow my brows out, so originally i wanted my brows thin and i just didn't want a lot, but now, you
3:27 pm
know, it's just so uneven that i have to fill it in. >> perfect. well, do you want to show us how you fill it in? >> yeah, let's see it. >> well, i'm not, like, a makeup artist. >> well, i think i'm gonna hand it over to you. okay. >> so i like to use powder and i like to get a color that's, you know, like my eyebrows, and this is what i do. hopefully i don't mess this up and you look like a clown. >> and, you know, as we age, our brows tend to thin out, so when you keep your brows well manicured, as you know, it'll literally shave off the years, which is really important. >> that is important. good tip. >> and the one thing about doing brows for me is sometimes they go too dark and it's like, girl, you look crazy. >> take it down a notch. >> yeah, but brows are so important. i feel like it just defines your face. like, all you need is a nice brow and a lip. >> right. and i think a lot of people avoid the brow altogether. maybe they're intimidated or they do too much, but we can find a happy medium, right? >> bam! >> oh, hey, hey! oh, whoa. bam! hey! >> that's a brow. >> nicely done. wait, but what is this? what is this product?
3:28 pm
>> okay, well, that is the urban decay gwen stefani brow box and it comes with two eyebrow eyeshadows, it comes with an eyebrow wax, which you can put it on after to seal the deal. you know, hairspray for your brow. >> hairspray for your eyebrow kit. >> right? >> yes. >> okay, perfect. >> i did good, for you being a makeup artist. >> you did good. i'm gonna give you a high-five, girl. >> nice! >> okay, let's talk about the lashes, too. (cheers and applause) now, nicole, your favorite is the velour lashes. >> they're honestly... okay... >> are you wearing 'em? i'm wearing 'em. >> yes. i love them. they're pricy, but they're pricy because you can wear them over and over, so i can literally wear these 20 times in a row. >> that's a good deal. >> so it's not like, okay, you're buying eyelashes. oh, they're ruined. i've got to throw them out and buy another pair. >> and they're 100% mink, which, rest assured, no animals were harmed in the making of the mink lashes, but let me show you really quick how you take 'em off. i know it might sound elementary, but place your thumb and press it and then peel it off the package, and that's how you do it while keeping true to the shape and not compromising the shape of the lash.
3:29 pm
>> i always just ripped 'em off. >> right? and then you also want to do... i take the eyelash glue... dark duo is my go-to and then you just put it on the lash. i know it sounds elementary, but here's another trick. you wave it in the air, you know, because you want it tacky. then you put it on the eyelid. >> the makeup artist does that and i'm like, what are you doing? she's like... >> yeah, i'm like, yeah, yeah. a little bit of a workout too. but also, i know people watching are gonna be doing their own eyelashes. let me share something really quick that helped me when i first started out. you take a mirror and, sydney, do you mind holding that? pull your hair back, put the mirror on the table, and look down into it if you're doing your own, and you're in the perfect position to apply the fake lash. >> that's a great tip. >> right? then you're not going like this. like, what? that'll help you. >> so we have got one more. we want to move on to the bold lip, so let's do that. >> okay, come on over. come on over. we've got tiffany. okay, now, tiffany is rocking... >> you're looking fabulous. >> actually with the bold brow too, right? >> i love this look. >> but how about the lip color?
3:30 pm
>> love this look. >> the quickest way to dress up your face is with the bold lip color, right? >> yep. >> and, nicole, your favorite was the kat von d. it's a 24-hour life-proof lip color. >> it literally stays on no matter what you're doing, drinking coffee, eating, getting down and dirty, it will stay on, so it's there. >> and i like it because the formula has a natural moisturizer, vitamin e. and then i want to show you one more thing. very cool. now, i want to add a pigment to reflect the light and to, you know, like, highlight the lower lip. >> so, what is that? is that, like, an eyeshadow? >> actually a blush, leah. >> really? >> a shimmery blush. yeah. you can even take your fingertip and pat it, but... >> why do you do that? >> well, 'cause it'll reflect the light and, in turn, make your lower lip look bigger, fuller. it'll give it a little bit of dimension. >> so i don't need fillers. >> no, you don't, honey. >> no, you don't, girlfriend. >> darn it! (laughter) >> you look fabulous. >> that looks beautiful. >> all right. well, thank you, guys, so much.
