>> clinton tells cnn, she did not lose consciousness. she was helped into her van on sunday. she said she immediately felt better once she sat down and got some water. >> she also said she was hoping to power through and continue campaigning despite the ill, and didn't disclose the illness s n sooner because she didn't think it would be that big of a deal. abc's cecilia vega has more. >> reporter: hillary clinton calling in to cnn from her home in chappaqua as her team reveals more information about her health. >> i'm feeling so much better and, obviously, i should have gotten more rest sooner. >> reporter: clinton seen leaving the 9/11 memorial early. she nearly collapses as aides and secret service rush to her side. lifting her into the van. >> i felt dizzy, and i did lose my balance for a minute. but once i got in, once i could sit down, once i could cool off, once i had some water, i immediately started feeling better. >> reporter: her campaign

initially said she was just overheated. about two hours later, clinton emerged from daughter chelsea's apartment smiling and waving. >> how are you feeling? >> feeling great. great. >> what happened? >> it's a beautiful day in new york. >> reporter: she posed for a picture with a little girl, but answered no questions. >> thank you all. thank you. >> madam secretary, how are you feeling? >> great. i'm feeling great. >> reporter: more than five hours later, clinton's team finally revealed she had pneumonia, a diagnosis that came on friday during an exam for a cough that clinton said was related to allergies. >> every time i think about trump, i get allergic. >> reporter: it is not the first time clinton has withheld information about her health. in 2012, she fainted at home, hitting her head, suffering

concussion and a blood clot. but her aides downplayed the severity of the injury. it wasn't until journalists spotted her special glasses for double vision that it became clear just how serious that injury was. in 2014, clinton told diane sawyer there was nothing to worry about. >> no lingering effects? >> no lingering effects. nope. >> reporter: clinton was asked why she didn't disclose her pneumonia sooner. >> i didn't think it was going to be that big of a deal. it's that kind of thing, if it happens to you and you're a busy, active person, you keep moving forward. and i think it's fair to say, anderson, that people know more about me than almost anyone in public life. >> reporter: neither candidate has released full medical records. but clinton has provided more information. a two-page letter from her doctor in 2015, declaring her in excellent physical condition. her current medical conditions include hypothyroidism and

seasonal pollen allergies. trump, who would be the oldest to take office, told david he would release detailed health records soon. >> reporter: you're 70. she's 68. do you think the american people deserve to know more about your medical history? >> sure, i do. but i would love to give specifics, as far as i'm concerned. if she wants to do it, i would to it 100%. >> reporter: why not go first? >> i might do that. i might do that. in fact, now that you ask, i think i will do that. >> reporter: you will? >> yeah. >> reporter: to date, all he released is this four-paragraph statement from his doctor, declaring that trump will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency. that doctor later saying he wrote in a rush with trump's car waiting outside. >> five minutes. right at this desk and write that letter while the driver waited for it. >> reporter: trump announcing he will release more information this week. we know that several of hillary clinton's aides in her brooklyn headquarters became sick in recent weeks, including her campaign manager. no word on whether that is connected to the same pneumonia

that hillary clinton has been diagnosed with. get this, donald trump's public reaction to clinton's health scare has been subdued. after slamming clinton's health and stamina for weeks, trump took the high road, saying he hopes she gets well soon. and campaign surrogates were instructed to keep quiet about the issue, but trump couldn't resist raising a few more questions. >> they say pneumonia on friday. but she was coughing badly a week ago and even before that, if you remember. this wasn't the first time. it's interesting to see what is going on. >> trump was not holding back, as he defended his supporters. he is demanding that clinton retract her comments, labeling some of them as deplorables. he is accusing clinton of attacking and demonizing the american voter. breaking overnight, the u.s. has made a major show of force just miles from north korea. the military sent two supersonic

bombers across the sky above south korea. the flight was in response to north korea's latest nuclear test. there was a similar flyover with a b-2 after a january test. as the cease-fire in syria enters a second day, syrian rebels are criticizing a truce plan. 21 insurgent groups have released a statement calling the truce between the u.s. and russia unjust. and saying the international community is not serious about ending the fighting. the united states has confirmed the cease-fire does not include provisions for u.s. and russian-approved air strikes. firefighters in chicago are battling a massive fire in the city's west side. the fire broke out at 7:00 in the evening, and quickly spread. two firefighters suffered heat exhaustion. a witness claims to have overheard a man threatening to burn down a store in that area. a manhunt is under way in florida, for a suspect who started a fire after an attack on a mosque, in ft. pierce. it is the same mosque attended by the orlando nightclub shooter.

the sheriff's department released surveillance video of the suspect, who is later seen running away. >> he was holding a bottle of some sort of fluid. and what appeared to be some papers, or something like that. shortly after the individual approached the building, an immediate, very large flash was observed in the video footage. >> federal investigators are looking to the fire as a possible hate crime. muslim leaders say it was the latest in an escalating campaign of harassment. a preliminary investigation is blaming metal fatigue for an alarming air accident last month. according to the ntsb, a fan blade broke off a southwest 737 with pieces hitting the fuselage and leaving a hole in its outer skin. the plane lost pressure and had to make an emergency landing in pensacola, florida. luckily, there were no injuries. some highway systems in the u.s., including in atlanta and the cincinnati area, resemble

these were the people hillary clinton so viciously demonized. >> reporter: trump, who has refused to apologize for his own controversial statements about women, muslims and minorities, is now demanding a true apology from clinton. >> if hillary clinton will not retract her comments in full, i don't see how she can credibly campaign any further. >> reporter: the republican nominee, adding to the drama surrounding the debates, now, just two weeks away. >> i'm going to be treated very, very unfairly by the moderators. i think maybe we should have no moderator. let hillary and i sit there and debate. i think the system is being rigged. it's going to be a very unfair debate. >> reporter: tom llamas, abc news, new york. a house republican has issued a subpoena to a high-ranking fbi official, aimed

at accessing the full case file on clinton's e-mail investigation. congressman jason chaffits says many of the fbi records were blacked out or missing altogether. the republicans have challenged the fbi's decision not to prosecute clinton over the use of a private e-mail server. but democrats say they're trying to figure out and undermine clinton's presidential bid. president obama could be in for a fight with congress over a bill that allows 9/11 families to sue saudi arabia. the house and the senate have passed the justice against sponsors of terrorism act, but the white house says the president will veto the bill. 15 of the september 11 hijackers were saudi nationals. but saudi arabia has denied involvement. some families have written the president, asking him to sign the bill. but the white house argues, it could lead to other countries enacting similar laws against the u.s. jury selection is under way for the second time in the case of an atlanta area dad who left his child in a hot car. justin harris has pled not guilty to murder in the death of his 22-month-old son. earlier this year, a judge

ordered the trial move out of atlanta, after not enough impartial jurors could be seated. jury selection is expected to take the rest of this month. her family hopes new video may help find karina vetrano's killer. the woman is seen jogging in new york city here, moments before she was killed. police have few leads in the 30-year-old woman's murder. this video was released by the tv show, "crime watch daily." and police and vetrano's family hope it may provide some leads. a vigil was held last night in memphis for three adults and six children who were killed in a house fire. one child who survived remains in critical condition, on life support. abc's steve osunsami has more on that deadly fire. >> we possibly have other victims inside. let's assist inside if you can. >> reporter: firefighters who raced to this small brick home are grieving. the family they came to rescue was trapped behind flames. and most of the windows were blocked by security bars like this one, which had to be removed.

>> we located an additional victim for a total of five. cpr is in progress. >> reporter: it was too late. three adults and six children lost their lives. one child is hanging on in critical condition. we spoke with their grandfather, who says his heart hurts. >> i love my grandchildren. my grandbabies. now all of my grandbabies are gone. >> reporter: authorities say the fire began in the living room, caused by a faulty power cord from an air conditioning unit. they found a smoke detector and believe it was working. >> nothing in our training can prepare us for this heartbreaking event. >> reporter: the fire department is going door to door across this city installing free smoke detectors. steve osunsami, abc news, memphis. now, to maryland, where several children were evacuated after their bus suddenly caught fire. a nearby resident saw the disaster unfolding and helped the kids off the bus and into her home. no word on what caused that fire. north carolina is facing more fallout over its controversial transgender bathroom law.

the ncaa is relocating all championships scheduled to played in this state this school year. the move comes eight weeks after the nba called the all-star game out of charlotte. a spokesperson for north carolina's republican party called the ncaa decision, quote, absurd. the move will cost the state games in the division i men's basketball tournament in march. look at this dramatic picture of a 12-year-old boy literally standing up to demonstrators protesting against gay marriage. it happened over the weekend in mexico. the photographer told local media, the boy's uncle is gay. and the boy said he hated the hatred he believes that protest represented. more migrants have been rescued from the mediterranean sea. the italian coast guard says it picked up 350 people in three separate operations yesterday. after rescuing 3,400 refugees over the weekend alone. most of the people were trying to get to europe aboard overloaded inflatable rafts. and among them was this newborn baby. born aboard a rescue ship, just 24 hours after his nigerian

>> no, i did not. >> mrs. ramsey, did you kill your cower? >> no, i did not kill my daughter. >> reporter: burke would later fall under suspicion, too. that morning, he recalls staying in bed as police arrived. >> i was scared. i didn't know if there was a bad guy downstairs that my dad was chasing off with a gun. i had no idea. >> reporter: burke ramsey was reportedly paid for the interview. he and his parents were cleared as suspects and the case remains open. burke says he realizes that some people thought he and his parents were involved with what happened here. but he says he is doing the interview now to honor jonbenet's memory so no one forgets. clayton sandell, abc news, boulder. >> and jonbenet's mom died several years ago. still no answers in that case. >> it's such a bizarre case, especially with the false people who have come out and confessed to the crime. and turns out they weren't credible, either. lots of twists and turns in that one. you have to hope for the family
