wkrn. >> that's what's making news this morning. making news in america this morning, hillary clinton's first comments about her health. she says she's feeling better following sunday's scare as donald trump wishes clinton well, but also hitting her for what she said about his supporters. we're live in d.c. see the scare on "dancing with the stars" after ryan lochte made his debut. protesters hit the dance floor. hear why they were there and what lochte said about it afterward. and new this morning, a frightening landing after a plane's landing gear malfunctions. the jet skidding across the tarmac with a dangerous payload on board. and a close encounter with a great white shark caught on camera. see how a swimmer saved himself just inches from this predator.

and good tuesday morning. we begin with hillary clinton anxious to get back on the campaign trail as she speaks out for the first time about her diagnosis of pneumonia. >> now, clinton says she never lost consciousness and felt better as soon as she got foo into her air conditioned van. in the meantime, donald trump went on the attack about an entirely different issue. we get the latest now from abc's lana zak. >> i'm feeling so much better. >> reporter: calling in to cnn last night, hillary clinton tried to reassure voters that her health isn't an issue that they should take to the ballot box while her husband bill clinton told charlie rose her campaign is not hiding any health secrets. >> nothing more to know. all of her health indicators are good and she's very strong. >> reporter: the democratic nominee acknowledged it was a combination of the heat and pneumonia that caused her to lose her balance as she left the 9/11 event in new york sunday but aides initially neglected to mention the pneumonia diagnosis that came on friday pegging it only to heat and dehydration. now clinton aides confessing they should have been more

trump's supporters deplorables and both candidates say they will be releasing more health information this week. kendis, diane. >> mrs. clinton says she expects to be on the campaign trail fairly soon. lana, thank you. in the meantime, donald trump came to the defense of his supporters as a scuffle broke out last night at his rally in north carolina. a man in the crowd grabbed a protester by the neck and punched him as he was being escorted out by security. the supporter also slapped a woman who was being led out of the arena, but he was not forced to leave that rally. a house republican has issued a subpoena to a high ranking fbi official aimed at accessing the full case file on hillary clinton's e-mail investigation. congressman jason chaffetz says many of the fbi records were blacked out or missing. republicans are challenge ing the fbi's decision not to prosecute her over her use of a private e-mail server. democrats say it's just an attempt to undermine clinton's presidential bid. and president obama says he's encouraged by some of the work in congress after sitting down with leaders from both sides of the aisle. the president met with house

speaker paul ryan, national minority leader mitch mcconnell, house minority leader nancy pelosi and northridge minority leader harry reid. he expressed hope of reaching a bipartisan agreement to keep the government running and funding the battle against zika. well, everything all seems pretty happy there but then there's this battle that is about to take place. a fight with congress over a bill to allow 9/11 families to sue saudi arabia. both the house and senate unanimously passed the justice against sponsors of terrorism act, but the white house says the president will veto that bill. 15 of the september 11th attackers were saudi nationals but saudi arabia so far has denied involvement. some victims' families have written the president asking him to sign the bill, but the white house argues it could lead other countries to enact similar laws against the u.s. the u.s. has made a major show of force just miles from north korea. the military flew two b1b bombers over the skies of south korea. the flight was in response to north korea's latest nuclear test, the most powerful one to date. there was a similar flyover

after a test in january. and as the cease-fire in syria enters its second day certain rebels are criticizing the plan. 21 insurgent groups have released a statement calling it unjust saying the international community is not serious about ending the fighting. meanwhile, the united states has confirmed the cease-fire does not include provisions for u.s. and russian approved air strikes by syria's government. quite a touching scene overnight in tennessee. the nine victims of a house fire were remembered last night at a vigil in memphis. family members released balloons into the sky, each one representing a victim. an electrical malfunction in an air conditioner in the living room sparked the fire which killed six children and three adults. memphis firefighters have been going door to door giving out smoke detectors. to the north in chicago, crews managed to knock down a massive fire which broke out in a strip mall. the fire started around 7:00 in

the evening and quickly spread. at least three businesses were destroyed. two firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion. the cause of that fire at this hour under investigation. this christmas marks 20 years since the murder of 6-year-old jonbenet ramsey. now for the first time her older brother is opening up publicly about that day. burke ramsey was 9 when the young beauty queen's body was found in the basement of their colorado home. speaking with dr. phil, ramsey describes the moment he found out something was wrong. >> do you remember waking up that morning? >> yep. the first thing i remember is my mom first thing in my room really frantic, i remember her saying, where's my baby, where's my baby. i was scared, i think. i didn't know if there was some bad guy downstairs and my dad was chasing off with a gun or, you know, i had no idea. >> investigators first suspected an intruder then focused on the parents, john and patsy ramsey. both were cleared as suspects and that case is still open.

and a u.s. sailor is set to be doing just fine after giving birth on an aircraft carrier to a baby she says she didn't know she was expecting. it happened on the "uss eisenhower." that was in the persian gulf. the sailor complained of abdominal pain then gave birth to a 7-pound girl. >> now, sailors are required to report a pregnancy but this particular sailor, as you mentioned, says she didn't know she was pregnant when she boarded the ship in june. mother and daughter were flown to a hospital in bahrain where both are reportedly doing well. coming up, new anger this morning over a bank executive's substantial golden parachute. and a new video just in. a 737 coming in for landing without working landing gear. the emergency early this morning. and a scare at "dancing with the stars" as protesters storm the stage. probably not the debut olympian ryan lochte was hoping for.

some scary moments for the elementary school students on this bus when it caught fire in maryland. a resident who saw the potential disaster unfolding helped the kids off the bus and into her home. an investigation is under way into the cause of that fire. no march madness on tobacco road of the that's part of the fallout as the ncaa responds to their controversial transgender bathroom law. >> the ncaa is relocating all championships that are scheduled to be played in the state this school year. among the events affected, first and second round games on the division 1 men's basketball tournament in march. that's a lot of money there. the move comes eight weeks after the nba pulled next year's all-star game out of charlotte. wells fargo is facing new outrage this morning over the huge bonus being paid to a bank executive. she was in charge of the unit where employees allegedly opened

more than 2 million unauthorized customer accounts. the bank is paying $185 million in fines, but carrie tolstedt is retiring at the end of the year with $125 million as a bonus. her retirement was announced before the scandal was revealed. samsung reportedly has a fix for its galaxy 6 note phones. some of the batteries for the device have been exploding and catching fire. the government says it's evaluating the new battery as fast as it can. samsung has not official ly recalled the galaxy note 7 but instead offering exchanges for another phone. in the meantime, samsung recommends owners don't use the galaxy note 7. a preliminary investigation is blaming metal fatigue for a southwest airlines jet emergency landing last month. according to the ntsb, an engine fan blade broke off with pieces hitting the fuselage and leaving a hole in the outer skin. the plane lost cabin pressure and had to make an emergency landing in pensacola, florida.

there were no injuries. and new this morning, another airline emergency. this new video just in shows a close call for the pilot of a cargo plane. take a look at the landing, the boeing 737 comes skidding down the runway as its landing gear buckles or fails to deploy. this was earlier today in indonesia. it was loaded with fuel but despite the dangerous payload no reported injuries. when we come back, everything was going well in the ballroom for ryan lochte till it wasn't. see protesters storm the stage and why. and an inspiring effort completed by a paralyzed woman after days on the road, finally crossing the finishing line. people always say let's just get a sandwich or something. you don't just learn how to drive... or solve the world's problems... be a dad... abused alcohol and prescription drugs for years and says her arrest was one of the best things that ever happened to her. wambach says she has been sober ever since. she first admitted her substance abuse problem in her book which is being released today. colin kaepernick's protest against racial injustice seems to be gaining traction. >> the san francisco 49ers quarterback knelt at the games monday night. eric reid joined him and players on both teams raised fists in solidarity. no protest to be found before monday night's first game. members of the steelers and redskins helped hold the american flag during the national anthem. this was at fedex field in maryland and joined members of the u.s. military. as for the games this play summed up the steelers night against the redskins. pittsburgh's ben roethlisberger fires a pass toward number 14 sammie coates and bounds to eli rodgers then's get the touchdown.

the second big play of his touchdown passes of the night. pittsburgh rolled 38-16. the second game marked the first for the rams as a california team since 1994 it's been a while for franchises back in l.a. after 21 seasons in st. louis and the team did nothing to make the people of missouri miss it. san francisco's carlos hyde ran for two touchdowns and l.a. just couldn't get anything going on offense. the niners blanked the rams, 28-0. it's the first time they've been shut out since 2011. folks in st. louis celebrating. >> yeah. a paralyzed woman has completed a half marathon and she did it with the help of an exoskeleton. >> claire lomas, 36 years old, didn't move fast, it took her five days to complete the race. averaging about three miles a day. but still she said she was over the moon about being able to finish it all adding to the

tiffany? >> standing at intersection of prospect and titus blocked off by tape. there are flares at prospect. you cannot see. it is very dark. halfway down the block is where all of the activity is centered. on other side of the street you and see the school sign and a goalpost. that, according to google maps is the school. the santa clara sheriff said they were called to the neighborhood at 7:50 last night. the apartment spokesman said there was a deputy involved in the shooting but the deputy was not injured. a source said an ambulance left the neighborhood. no word on the opinion's condition. the crime scene unit has been on the scene investigating overnight. >> i confirm there is a sheriff deputy-involved shooting. all standard protocols are followed. it shows how dangerous our job is. when i have more information i
