>> yes, there is no smell right now. while investigators are studying the sheen on the water, city leaders are getting a lot calls from people in vallejo wondering what the smell was and is life normal today? they say, yes, school is in session. can you leave your house. but this was an unexpected service shut down, ferry service. >> you will make the next bus. >> not what ferry riders wanted to hear. they could not believe why. never dreaming a rotten smell could lead to ferry service being canceled. >>ish stated but it is what it is. >> they were irritated by a smell that forced people to shelter-in-place that burned noses and this morning, ferry service is canceled because of this, a mysterious sheen on the san pablo by. officials did not want to run the ferries through it until

results. all the investigation in vallejo first started when the mysterious smell was reported last night. a shelter-in-place was issued and it remained in affect until 6:00 a.m. the southern most part of the city is where it was primarily impacted. we have marked the area on the map. it includes the beverly hills park and glen cove park neighborhood. so many people were conditioned about odor they had to agent separate emergency operation officer to handle the influx of phone calls, with 800 calls before midnight. several people say it made them sick and they went to the hospital. haz-mat worked into the usually morning hours to figure out what was causing the smell and team up with public safety officers and crews. the utility said that gas monitors show normal readings with no sign gas leak. >> we first told you of the mysterious smell with the punish alert from the abc7news.com app. download the app for free and enable the punish alerts for breaking updates.
