>> now from abc7, live breaking news. >> a male ran into the women's macy's with a long rifle and we are getting multiple calls. >> a gunman opens fire in a packed shopping mall and tonight several people are dead. a state troopers are under taking a manhunt to find the shooter. thank you for joining us. i'm ama daetz. >> and i'm dan ashley. washington state trooperses say he is armed with a rifle. he opened up fire in a mall in burlington halfway between seattle and the canadian border. >> katie is monitoring our breaking news live from the newsroom. katie? >> reporter: ama and dan, three women is dead and a man hospitalized with life-threatening injuries and another woman was shot and expected to survive. i want to take you to the scene. you can see the large police response at the cascade mall women's macy's store. a man walked in with a rifle

and opened fire, at least eight shots. there is a large manhunt underway as the shooter ran from the mall toward interstate 5. washington state patrol trooperses say the area is rural and there are plenty of places for him to hide. >> we are still actively looking for the shooter. again caution people to stay indoors and stay secure. if you see something, say something. definitely stay locked down in your houses until we can get this guy caught. >> he is wearing grayish clothing and a longer rifle and last seen in the women's macy's. >> reporter: here is the surveillance picture that troopers released of the suspected it shooter. the mall is locked down as a crime scene. first responders are working to clear it and they loaded about 20 survivors on a bus and took them to a nearby church to be interviewed. troopers don't know if this was a targeted shooting or random. the victims range in age from mid20s to elderly. abc7 news.

in some of the other coast allocations. san francisco 86 across the bay and oakland is 97 over the hills and walnut creek and 98 in antioch and it will be even hotter on monday. a look at the complete forecast in a few minutes. dan? >> dan: spencer, thanks very much. we have new details on the car crash involving one of google's self-driving cars. it happened this afternoon on a mountain view road. the wreck left the lexus suv badly damaged as you can see. katie is live in mountain view tonight with the story. katie? >> reporter: dan, neither driver had to be taken to the hospital from the scene from here, but a google spokesperson tells us the driver of the google car did end up at the hospital with a sore neck. the self-driving car was not at fault. a twitter user shared this photo with us. you can see the side of the google lexus is smashed. it it happened around 1:30 at el camino real and calderon.

they say the other vehicle ran a red light. the statement goes on to say, quote, human error plays a role in 94% of the crashes which is why we are developing fully self-driving technology to make our roads safer. they are investigating the crash. they say self-driving cars are common in the city. >> our traffic officers are extremely used to seeing these vehicles out on the road. they speak with google regularly about incident reports and whatnot. >> people in mountain view give the technology mixed reviews. >> when you put your trust in something mechanical that can malfunction and you don't have the ability to stop it. >> they drive conservatively more like grand ma. if anything they will be driving too carefully and bring safety to driving in the future. >> reporter: google says in seven years only one crash was google car's fault.

it happened at 2 miles an hour it side swiped a bus trying to merge in a lane. abc7 news. >> ama: the city of richmond recommended discipline to 9 officers involved in a sex scandal that has rocked the bay area. it involves jasmine who worked as a prostitute starting at age 16. one faces termination and another demotion and two suspensions and five letters of reprimand. they believe the punishment fits. >> i think most people feel like that business was taken care of. what else can you do? you are not going to take people out and shoot them. >> each officer will get a hearing before the final punishment is decided. >> abc7 news was there as several officers were charged in the scandal. he pleaded not guilty to

felony obstruction of justice and misdemeanor prostitution charges. two more face felony charges and four face misdemeanor charges. marchers hit the streets in north carolina for a fourth night in a row to protest the shooting death of a black man by police. again they defied the city wide curfew. that man's wife made public video of the moments leading up to the shooting. >> reporter: dan and ama, the shooting death of keith lamont scott has shaken the city of charlotte. protesters continue to demand the release of police videos and a state of emergency is still in effect. as demonstrators filled the streets of charlotte for a fourth night protesting the police shooting of keith lamont scott. >> he has no weapon. don't shoot him. >> reporter: we now have our first look at scott's last moments. >> don't shoot him.

hills and then while being treated he stole a police cruiser and lead officers on a chase before crashing near the san mateo bridge. chambers' parents say he was trying to see his young daughter. they called 9-1-1 yesterday when he started acting manic. >> he had a mental break down. we tried to get help for him hours before this happened. >> ama: his parents plan to bail him out tonight and get him mental health treatment. >> ama: two brothers were arrested for robbing more than a dozen street vendors in san jose. michael angelo and richard lopez were taken into custody. between july 30th and september 16th they robbed 13 vendors and in some cases the vendors were beaten and pistol whipped. >> a scary situation for these victims. it is something i'm sure will last with them for a longtime. both emotionally and physically. >> ama: police talked to street vendors and offered tips to stay safe.

>> dan: a bay area mother who lost her son on 9/11 is pushing congress to override president obama's veto of a controversial bill. the justice against sponsors of terrorism act would allow them to sue the saudi arabian government for any role it may have played in the 9/11 attacks. the president said the law under mends our national -- undermines our national interest. the los altos resident wants her day in court. she lost her son on flight 93. >> how disappointed we 9/11 families are the president has seen fit to try to throw a wrench in our efforts to make sure we have our day in court. >> dan: the house and senate need two-thirds support to override the veto. >> ama: here is proof that doing the right thing pays off. a woman in san jose ordered lunch at her local domino's pizza. in a box that was supposed to be checken wings she found nearly $5,000 that was supposed to go to the bank. >> i was like, i can't keep it. it is a crazy amount of money.

it is not like $20. it is almost $5,000. >> ama: she tried to get in touch with a manager to return the money, but didn't get a response. after calling abc7 news we were able to connect her to the franchise owner who was thankful for her honesty. to thank her they gave her free pizza for an entire year and her employer is giving her a week off with pay. isn't that great? >> dan: it pays to do the right thing. >> ama: time to go to our weather. >> bring out the fans or turn on the air conditioning or go to the beach. here is a look at live doppler 7. we have clear skies and there is no fog at the coast. there will be a marine cooling that we get. it will be warming up tomorrow. a live view from the tower camera looking under clear skies and it is currently 61 in san francisco. 62 in both mountain view and san jose.

63 and 59 in half moon bay. this is the view from the abcs exploratorium camera. it is 66 in santa rosa and 67 in concord and livermore. 61 and one more live view at the golden gate bridge where it is fog free and these are our forecast features. it will be much warmer beginning tomorrow. we will see triple digit heat inland. both of those days we have a heat advisory from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. overnight look for clear skies with lows in the low to mid50s. tomorrow is a great day at the beach. sunny skies and a mild condition. look for highs at 74 in bodega bay. 82 in santa cruz and 72 in monterey bay. the ocean temperature is 57 degrees. cool water to offset the warm air. highs of 86 at san jose.

we will see low to mid80s and 82 in redwood city. 70 on the coast in pacifica and 69 in half moon bay. downtown san francisco will top out at 75 degrees tomorrow. up in the north bay we will see numerous locations from novato to santa rosa and cal law stow disbaw. and calistoga. 86 in castro valley. the inland will have highs in the low 90s. here comes the heat on sunday and mown day. here comes the heat on sunday and monday. highs will exceed 90. 80 or above on the coast. there will be coastal cooling on tuesday. the area will remain warm. thursday and friday we will have a more seasonal range of temperatures. it is quite a spike in heat for two days, but we are fortunate it is only two days.
