and the canadian border. troopers say the gunman was armed with a rifle when he shot the victims inside the macy's makeup department. this is a surveillance picture released of the suspected shooter. he ran from the mall toward interstate five. they say the area is rural and there are plenty of place force him to hide. >> still actively searching for the suspect. you have dozens of detectives behind me going absolutely over every tip, trying to determine where the suspect is at. >> the troopers say they do not know if this was a targeted shooting or random. the victims range in age from the mid-20s to elderly. police will have an update at 8:00 this morning. we sent out a push alert about the mall shooting at 8:18:00 p.m. you will being the first to know when breaking news happens. google said their self --

says a self-driving car was not at fault for the car crash that left an s.u.v. lexus badly damaged. it happened in mountain view. they said the driver of the google car went to the hospital with a sore neck. abc7 news reporter katie katie marzullo has more. >> a twitter user shared this with us. you see the passenger side of the google lexus is smashed. it happened in mountain view. in a statement the company said the other vehicle ran a red light. the statement goes on to say, quote, human error plays a role in 94% of these crashes, which is why we are developing fully self-driving technology to make our roads safer. mountain view police are investigating the crash. a spokesperson said self-driving cars are common in the city. >> our traffic officers are extremely used to seeing these vehicles out on the roads.

roles the officers had in the scandal, but believes the punishment fits. >> i think most people feel like that, you know, that this has been taken care of. i mean, what else can you do? you are not going to take people out and shoot them or something. >> each officer will get a hearing before their final punishment is decided. abc7 news was in hayward yesterday as the first of seven suspected east bay officers was charged in the scandal. brian bunton pleaded not guilty to felony obstruction of justice and misdemeanor prostitution charges. two more officers face felony charges and four face misdemeanor charges. happening today, the black lives matter group plans to bike 11 miles in support of of the families of keith lamont scott and clarence crutcher. police fatally shot scott in north carolina on tuesday. a tulsa, oklahoma police officer shot and killed crutch every

last friday. it starts in oakland at 10:30. marchers hit the streets in charlotte, north carolina last night for the fourth night in a row to protest the shooting of scott. once again, they defied a city-wide curfew. also yesterday the man's wife made public the video leading up to the shooting. healther is on the ground in charlotte. >> reporter: the shooting death of keith lamont scott has shaken the city of charlotte. protesters continue to demand the release of police videos and tonight a state of emergency is still in effect. the parents of a man suspected of crashing a stolen police cruiser thursday night plan to take them to a mental hospital. police say jeffrey chambers crashed his vehicle in the hayward hills and while being treated he stole a police cruiser and led officers on a chase before crashing the cruiser near the san mateo bridge. chambers' parents say he was trying to see his young daughter. they called 911 early yesterday when he started acting manic. >> he had a mental breakdown and we tried to get help for him hours before this happened. >> claimbers' parents planned to bail him out last night and get him mental health treatment the. two brothers have been arrested for robbing more than a dozen street vendors in san jose. michelangelo and richard lopez were taken into custody. between july 30th and september 16th police say they robbed 13 venders and in some cases the victims were beaten and pistol with whipped. >> a scary, scary situation for

half moon bay at 55. no fog for you. it will be a beautiful day at our beaches in the 70s. 80s arrive tomorrow at the shoreline. and this time of year we get the warmest weather in san francisco. but well above average the next couple of days. 59 in concord, 55 livermore. good morning, napa. a comfortable 52. but all over the bay area we are warmer than we were yesterday at this time. so the 24-hour change is 1 is degrees warmer. half moon bay five to six degrees warmer from hayward and concord. we will be looking at the temperatures about five degrees above average today. so it's been warmer each and every day. but the triple digits coming into play tomorrow. so warmer than it was last weekend. and, in fact, it's going to get quite uncomfortable for those sensitive to the heat and with the heat advisory in effect you want to pass along to you some tips. it's been a while since we had temperatures in the triple digits. of course, the increase risk of fire danger and heat-related illnesses are possibe. the air quality goes down.

segregation railway car and a guard tower. visitors begin in the basement and makes their ways through an exhibit that take place from over 400 years from slave ships to the civil war, the civil rights movemet and the election of the first black president. >> as i was walking through, i saw sadness, i saw many emotions. tears came down my face. >> more than 3,000 artifacts are on display. >> my hope is that this complicated, difficult, sometimes harrowing but, i believe, ultimately triumphant story will help us talk to each other. and more important, listen to each other and recognize the common humanity that makes america what it is.

the el~cerrito police department is featuring a free pokemon event today to catch them all. they plan to have mod duals at the police station. the stop around the police station has two pokemon stops and a gym. there will be a bike giveaway and free treats. they want to provide a safe environment for players to learn in. a major blow has been dealt to wells fargo. the city of san francisco said that wells fargo can't be trusted and has dropped the financial giant as a partner in program that connects low income consumers to trustworthy banks. hears abc7 news reporter lyanne melendez. >> when wells wells fargo first acknowledged their fake accounts scandal, they reached out to the financial giants. questions went unanswered. >> how many san franciscans were affected? have they been notified? how much restitution will they

60 in mountain view. good morning half moon bay. it's 52 for you right now and clear. no fog to speak of. we will be looking at temperatures around the bay today. some of the warmest we've seen. remember last weekend? it will be warmer than that with the heat advisory, sort of anticipating some heat sensitive issues. in fact probably a spare the air alert tomorrow. 52 napa, 59 cop cord, 55 livermore. temperatures in the last 124 hours have world considerably with 5 degrees warmer in the south bay. you will arrive at some mid-80s today. look at mountain view. average high 77. you will surpass that today. lots of 80s oven the peninsula. and up in the north bay you will be into the 90s today. here's a look outside from san francisco where it looks pretty nice right now. it will be much warmer today. triple digits for tomorrow and monday east of the called decot tunnel and traps -- caldecott tunnel and perhaps in the north bay, as well. the temperatures really peeking
