>> this is abc7 morning. good morning, it is monday, october 3rd. i am jessica castro here for natasha zouves. >> i am reggie aqui with meteorologist mike nicco and traffic reporter, alexis smith. first, we begin with breaking news in san jose. pose right now are looking for a person who led officers on a pursuit. >> our reporter is at the scene. what is happening? >> good morning, right now i am standing on the side of 680 southbound at the exit, can you see the off-ramp is closed by all of those police and sheriff deputies with the car a couple of minutes ago, they were actually going through the very thick bush right along the highway. by hand. using flashlights, looking for

the suspect would bailed out of the car. if we take the video from a little bit earlier, you can get a better idea of the police search, this all began as a pursuit in east san jose around 3:20 or 3:30. the car that one of the deputies checked the license plates and saw it was stolen, began a pursuit through the streets and up and down the expressway, and, that driver entered 680 in the wrong direction, going northbound in the southbound lanes. the driver's front tire was blown out dug the pursuit and he ended up crashing his car on to the shoulder of 680 near the exit ramp. he then jumped out his car, took off running, and sheriff deputies and other police brought out dogs and, again, went searching through all of the brush along here trying to find the man.

shootings. a witness talked about what happened. >> he had use arms to the side and they juneed out and they did not say anything, no orders. the police officer in front him shot him one time and he fell on the ground and the officer that was in front of him took two steps and shot him three more times. >> police have only said that an officer-involved shooting happened. that was yesterday. but the protests started on saturday after police shot killed 18-year-old sne ll what ran from a suspected stolen car and they found a gun. >> when the police came to the fence they fired and they fired one, two, three, four, five, six shots. >> police have not released any other details and four people were taken into custody after the protests. >> video and audio indicates do sacramento police officers tried to run over a mentally ill homeless man before they shot and killed him. the 50-year-old joseph mann was

killed july 11. the audio was enhanced of the dash camera and officers said "i will hit him," and "okay," before going to mann. family hired a civil rights attorney who will hold a news conference on the case this morning. >> demonstrators at levi stadium joined with colin kaepernick as the 49ers quarterback continued the forecast of social injustice. our reporter has that story. >> as fans piled into levi stadium, a group took a knee, raise add 50 and set a sprayed gathering across the street before the 49ers and cowboys game to support colin kaepernick with the protests against black on press and first amendment right to free speech. 15 black people have been killed since colin kaepernick began the protest. >> members of black community groups and churches came together to raise awareness

>> new this morning, the interim city manager and chief of the pose will resign from his duties at the end of the month. the contract runs through next february but decided that for personal and professional reasons, he will step down october 31st. he was appointed in june. in the resignation letter he said i believe with have moved forward as an organization and are looking toward the future. this is, of course, certainly much more work to be done. >> cal fire is washing of scammers take advantage of victims of the loma fire saying people are trying to solicit donations on behalf of cal fire and said it is against the law to accept donations and they say if you want to help donate to the red cross or second harvest food bank. this morning, the fire stands at under 4,500 acres burned and 71%

contained. today officials from san francisco city hall will help nine displaced residents find new places to live after the two-alarm fire damaged the apartments, cell phone video captured the flames that kept the firefighters busy yesterday in the mission district on 26 between harrison and alabama. the fire burned the top floor and attic of the building and a total of four units damaged and no one was hurt and the cause is under investigation. >> also happening today, a multimedical dollar move to dramatically increase the amount of college graduates out of oakland, the mayor schaaf will announce a $2 million different to expand the oakland promise at the hive, the largest public high school. the oakland promise is an initiative to promote education by providing students with college savings accounts and help with scholarships. the get and to triple the number of students with graduate from college in the next decade. >> good news for the morning, it is dry right now and cooler in

>> a united states coast guard crew record the body of a kayaker missing in the san francisco bay around 4:00 on saturday afternoon near san francisco. two companions reported him missing, a coast guard helicopter found the body on sunday morning south of the san mateo bridge. the coroner has not released his name. >> this morning we have a new look at an attack on the c.h.p.

vehicle in fresno. do you hear that? it is people punching and kicking a c.h.p.'s officer's vehicle a week ago on sunday. officers say this was a side show and the officer was able to drive away unharmed. three people were arrested. one of those said he was mad at the c.h.p. for to his car. officers continue to search in more suspects. including some who could be in the bay area. >> today in the first look police in florida have arrested a woman in connection with the murder of a prominent law professor. investigator say she was at the center of a murder-for-hire plot. here are the details. >> in the first look, a woman suspected of playing a key role in the killing of florida state university law professor taken and custody.

license plates and took off from a gas station. the driver was going up to 80 miles per hour on service streets. when he hit the highway he got up to 100 miles per hour. he went on to 101. got off of 101. then difficulties laid down the spike strips that disabled the front tire of the vehicle. he was driving on rims. the driver got on the wrong way on 680 the he was going north on the southbound lanes. he ended up crashing on the shoulder at the exit. at that point the driver bailed out of the car and ran in to all of the bushes. there was a female passenger who stayed in the car. she is currently being questioned. she is here on the scene cooperating. show giving them a description of man. he is a light skinned hispanic man between 30 and 40.

they found a gun at the scene and have not released other information. police shot and killed another man yesterday also in south los angeles, with his identity not released. >> new details regarding the armed robbery involving kim kardashian. in paris. according to cnn she is on her way back to the united states by private jet. police say five masked men dressed as police overpowered the security at the private home she was staying in and the men made their way in and made off with $10 million in jewelry including the $4.5 million engagement ring she was given at at&t park. she was not hurt. her kids were not with her. her husband was performing in new york when one of the people came on stage to tell him what happened and he abruptly canceled the show and left.

>> abc7 morning. all the wife of late actor robin williams is sharing intimate details of the struggles that led to the suicide. an essay was published and i quote, "i will never know the true depths of the suffering or how hard he was fighting. but from where i stood i saw the bravest man in the world playing the hardest role ofly life." he did not know he suffered from dementia a little known brain disease that leads to memory loss and delusions and other brain problems. it was only after his suicide that his family discovered his condition. >> return now to the race for the white house, donald trump on the defense this morning using his supporters to tackle the latest controversy, the tax returns.
