is abc7 news. >> dan: now at 11:00, a college water polo player accused of sexually assaulting two women on the same night. they say this young man may be far away from the bay area. >> this has happened at san jose state. >> live from campus the accused student has likely left the country. >> reporter: dan and ama, the two students here at san jose state university said they were raped by an international water polo player and they believe he left the country. the pool at san jose state university is currently under construction. it is where an international student came to play water polo, but a few weeks into his freshman year he was accused of rape twice. a university spokesperson

confirms two women say the water polo player raped them and the university suspended him. >> they did the right thing by suspending him, but they should have communicating it better. >> reporter: other students had a similar reaction. >> when there is a hate crime or recently we had a student pass away and they send out e-mails to every student and i think it is weird we didn't get an e-mail about this. >> reporter: san jose state said there was no on going threat and the suspect was under heavy scrutiny by police and the university. >> i can't say i am surprised. it is a big problem especially we are hearing it more and more in the brock turner case. >> reporter: brock turner was released from jail last month after serving an intensely protested three-month sentence for sexually assaulting an unconscious woman. in the case at san jose state, police say they turned their investigation over to the district attorney's office. the water polo player has not

been arrested nor charged with a crime. the university believes he left the country. at san jose state university, abc news. >> dan: hayward police are looking for a person who fired a gun. they heard shots fired just after 8:00. officerses arrived and found evidence a gun had indeed been fired, but they found no victims. also new at 11:00, firefighters are on the scene of a grassfire in pleasant hill. it broke out about 9:theater. right now investigators are trying to figure out exactly what caused it. the fire broke out north far from the iron horse trail where investigators believe a serial creel arsonist was setting small fires. there is no cause for tonight's fire. >> evacuation orders broke sout yesterday and sky 7 was overhead shortly after the flames broke out near campbell creek and campbell flats. the fire burned dangerously close to a home, but

firefighters kept them away. they burned 65-acres and is now 85% contained. tonight we have new details about a stabbing. a concord police k-9 officer, the police dog, is recovering. now what lead up to today's violence. cornell? >> reporter: ama, the suspect was shot and killed by two concord police officers today. tonight authorities do not know what caused them to stab one man and the k9 officer. the k9 cop is recovering near downtown concord. >> the k9 was sent to apprehend the suspect and the k9 was stabbed in the face by the suspect i believe by shears. >> reporter: concord police say it started when a man was slashed by a suspect with a knife who ran from the scene

while stripping off his clothes. >> he ran into my backyard and i was like shocked, like who is this person coming into my backyard? >> the naked man started running around her backyard. police arrived and the k9 was sent into the yard. >> i heard the dog barking. >> minutes later -- >> i heard four gunshots. >> the suspect described as a white man in his 30s was shot by two officers. he later died at a hospital. >> not too many details about what happened where the suspect actually charged the officers with the weapon or what lead to the shooting. >> the stabbing victim will recover. the k9, a one-year veteran of the force, suffered a wound to his side, but hillary cover. the district attorney now investigating the case. abc7 news. >> dan: are you looking at a violent robbery happening in oakland's fruit veil district. thieves pushed a woman to the ground outside her home and

demanded her jewelry. her 77-year-old husband fought off the robbers even as one of these guys hit him in the head with the gun. >> i was so mad, real mad. i was thinking of my wife and the other guy doesn't have a gun. >> both of them suffered cuts and bruises. they reported the crime to police, but they haven't heard anything since. oakland police tell us they are looking for clues and have not made any arrests. new tonight, it was a very tough night for giants fans. the orange and black ran sout of -- ran out of even year magic. >> it was tough to watch at the end. the giants fell to the cubs. it is dashing hopes of another world series. the final score 6-5. >> lisa amin gulezian is live with fan reaction to the end of the season. lisa? >> reporter: ama, i do have to tell you that giants fans were bummed.

>> dan: an 11-month-old boy died after being left in a parked car in fresno today. police say his grandmother was caring for him. the boy spent about an hour in the car before being taken out of the vehicle and rushed to the hospital. neighbors say there was a tragic accident and his grandmother left him in the car. prosecutors must now decide if she will face charges. >> ama: election night is four wakes from tonight. that's 28 days from now, tuesday x november 8th. with the days ticking by, donald trump is launching new attacks and not just against hillary clinton, but against top leaders of the republican

as the rain arrives it will be gusting at 30 miles per hour in many bay area locations. the commute is not going to be an easy one. we project the rainfall totals will reach or exceed three quarters of an inch. we will see a quarter inch to a half inch in the bay area. now let's move along to storm number two. that will begin to push into the bay area on saturday afternoon. we'll pick up the forecast animation on saturday. we'll see a wave of rain rushing through by 7:00. continuing into sunday and breaking up a little bit, but there will be left over rain sunday morning into sunday evening. it will be a wet three-day period. meanwhile tonight we will see an advance of low clouds and fog across the bay and the low temperatures will be in the low to mid50s and tomorrow mainly sun intoe skies after a partly to mostly cloudy start in the early morning hours. highs ranging from low 60s at the coast to upper 60s around the bay and low to

the giants went to the 9th with a 3-run lead. the bull pen implodes before the giants could tie it up. he tie itself at five. baez and what a series he had. 6-5 cubs and the giants, as you can imagine were stunned. last chance and brandon belt against chapman and no chance. strikes out swinging. the giants lose it 6-5. they blew 32 saves this year and this one hurts the most. cubs win the series 3-1 and advance to their second straight nlcs. >> it is not the way anybody wants to go out. it is not the way anybody wants to end the season. especially with the lead in the 9th it is a punch in the gut. >> it is tough to go into a situation like that, but the job doesn't change. you have to get out and i was unable to do that today. >> it is a strange feeling.
