inflated with good tread. slow down. >> good advise in c.h.p., the first major storm is about to hit the bay area. you can see the crews are busy doing prep work in anticipation of downed trees and lines. the storm will bring rain our way tonight. a look at the golden gate bridge shows it is cloudy but the rain is not coming down yet. our weather team is tracking changes that are likely to impact you through the weekend. >> we are learning an area at risk is the stretch of santa cruz mountains charred by the loma fire. meteorologist mike nicco is tracking the impact of the storm. he is taking off with our team coverage. >> worried about flooding in the santa cruz mountains receiving the healthiest amount of rain and the fastest winds. damage and power lanes -- lines are a big issue. best ray arrest at crescent city. it is all moving to the northeast. away from us.

the potential on the storm as we head to tonight into tomorrow. it will keeping it a (2) -- "2" for rain and wind. we have a hypo tell for accidents and local power outages. i do have good news for the commute, the storm system is slowing down. not all of us are going to be driving through the ponding during the commute. an hour-by-hour look is ahead. >> we will talk to you in a few minutes. the north bay is pounded first and public crews, work crews and drivers are getting ready. our reporter is at the manzanita park and ride in marin county that floods directly. you have big heads up for commuters? >> i do. there is no sign of rain yet. except for the sign behind me announcing this parking lot. be closed tomorrow. that is one of many steps being taken in the north bay because of the predicted rain.

>> city crews to mill valley are working do clear out storm drains today before tomorrow's rain moves in. they say you should be doing the same at your house. >> they suggest cleaning the gutters and debris an the house. thing director car, taxi driver is paying close attention to his car. from under the hood, to the windshield wipers. >> i am going to change the wipers. >> officials are being proactive at manzanita park and ride in mill valley announcing it will be closed tomorrow. and all next week. commuters say they will have to adjust. >> i will probably leave earlier to avoid cars being flooded when rains hit the low lying area at high tide. amber will park in another lot in sausalito, that she does not like as much as this. >> this is great because there are so many spots. spencer is smaller. it is unfortunate. >> they cannot keep the lot from

the rand is lampley stripped of having station which means that the storm could have a big impact. our team coverage continues now with our reporter matt keller in morgan hill. matt? the poor people in santa cruz mountains first dealing with the loma fire and now they have to deal with concerns of flooding. cal fire is ready for the rain. they are ready for this weekend. this afternoon they taking part in a county-wide storm meeting with other agencies like the sheriff, and water district and red cross. talk about what to do in the storm debris, flooding, roads giving out. this storm is a lot bigger than we are used to for the first rain is an area that is burned like in the santa cruz mountains is more vulnerable to erosion and mudslides and flooding. it is fought so much the total amount of rainfall but how quickly the rain comes that is the issue. >> 2" over four days...without any...big downpour at any one

its side and there was an s.u.v. flipped into a ditch. surprisingly, two women in the vehicle and the u.p.s. driver were all able to get themselves out to safety with only minor injuries reported. >> amazing. something like this county we were almost guaranteeing people would be inside the vehicle. >> they weren't. the fire can't said that the women are physically crawling out when they got to the scene. the biggest task during the cleanup of a crash like this is get the truck upright. the tactic this morning was using strapped to lift it but u.p.s. workers were called this to off load the truck and make it lighter. year, we saw this. a trip flipped on the hacienda on-ramp to eastbound 580 and the tow truck used airbags to lift up the truck estimating they saved between two to four hours with the airbag method that we do not see every day.
