hat least one person has been robbed and then shot at. this took place at 84th avenue and burke street. fortunately that person was not hit by gunfire. the shooter then ran into the neighborhood. we'll keep you posted. in san francisco the search continues for the four suspects in yesterday's shooting at june jordan school for equity. >> reporter: four students why shot in the parking lot. melanie woodrow returned to the school where grief counselors were on hand. melanie? >> larry and ama, the students we spoke with today at the school seem resilient, their parents slightly more concerned. tonight there's no official update on the victim's conditions because they are minors. other than that, those four victims are recovering from their injuries. meantime, police say they are working with school officials to make sure they can respond quickly in a situation like this. after those school officials call what happened yesterday a miscommunication. signs of solidarity, one day after a shooting in the june jordan high school parking lot in san francisco.

the school known for equity and social justice. >> you can just smell community like when you come in. >> reporter: one female student and three male students were injured as school let out. may come in within this perimeter and make it okay to -- to do harm and hurt other innocent children. >> police initially believed there was an active shooter. >> you have to attack this very aggressively. can you not stand by and wait. >> police sources tell abc 7 news some staff were uncooperative. something san francisco unified school district confirmed today, calling it a miscommunication. >> the administration informed them that the shooter was actually outside the school and they should pursue the shooter outside. the police insisted on entering the school with their guns drawn to conduct the active shooter protocol. >> i know some teachers that were, you know, saying why are the guns drawn. yo know, in a frantic scary

state. >> in an e-mailed statement sfpd said we're working together to make sure we do not have a delay in service during any active shooter situation so as not to compromise the safety of any person, staff member or student. >> once everything was settled. once everybody knew everything was calm, everything went smoothly after that. >> in san francisco, melanie woodrow, abc 7 news. happening tonight a visual for -- a vigil for three young men who died in a car accident. 18-year-old chancellor argall and his brother lancelot were killed when the car split apart. a third man as well died in that car. a vigil will take place at sir francis drake high school in san anselmo. both brothers graduated from the high school. 15 people when hurt when

this bus veered off highway 9 and veered no a fence about 30 miles southeast of fresno. the bus wan on its regular route from fresno to bakersfield. roughly half the people on board had minor injuries. breaking news today in the ongoing wells fargo banking scandal. the san francisco-based company is now facing a criminal investigation. we're learning that the justice department authorized a search warrant. officials went looking for evidence over allegations that bank employees created millions of accounts without the approval of their customers. the bank is cooperating with state officials. a natural gas explosion injured eight people after a construction crew nicked a gas line that caused a leak. firefighters evacuated dozens of people from three buildings before the blast took place minutes later. three firefighters and two police officers and three bystanders were hurt but none of their injuries are life-threatening.

our mid-week warming is well under way. sunny skies across the bay area right now and temperature change over the last 24 hours has been significant. you can see here that most locations are anywher from 2 to 7 to 9 degrees warmer right now than this time yesterday. 67 here in san francisco and mid-70s oakland and mountain view and 78 in san jose and gilroy and 63 at half moon bay. bue skies prevail over the golden gate as well. 79 degrees in santa rosa and 76 at napa and 81 novato and upper 70s in fairfield, concord and livermore, and here's your overnight planner. the sun will set at 6:26 this evening and rise at 7:24 tomorrow morning. clear skies all the way through. temperatures during the overnight hours will drop into the low to mid-50s. mild in the early evening hours and tomorrow when the sun rises it will still be pretty cool with temperatures in the low to mid-50s. we'll have a nice warmup by midday tomorrow and i'll show you how high the temperatures will soar in just a few minutes.

ama? >> spencer, thank you. a top fire agency says recent snowfall means that fire season is now over in the pacific northwest and rockies. the national interagency fire center says wildfires are still active only in the southwest, especially southern california. overall the west saw a below average fire season with about 7,500 square miles burned. fire season clearly isn't over in los angeles county where a wildfire is burning in kagel canyon. flames are shooting is up as fire crews try to tackle it from the air. the canyon is in the south part of angeles national forest. it's burning in the hills next to hundreds of homes. >> investigators are trying to pinpoint the cause of this massive fire inside a home in san jose. four family members lucky to have escaped the inferno. abc 7 news reporter matt keller with the details. >> reporter: the flames were big at this home on anselmo avenue in san jose. 1911 callers said people were trapped inside, but by the time

firefighters arrived a man and his teenaged daughter had already escaped while his parents, an elderly couple, were rescued by some good mayor tans. >> there's elderly people in the back of the house. they pulled him out and threw him over the fence and brought him out to the street >> exploegsed rocked the neighborhood. several people told me they were so strong they shook their homes. firefighters called for three alarms and took 80 minutes to knock down the flames. will recordd this video on his phone. >> i ran down here and got a video of the fire, crazy fire. explosions going off. >> reporter: firefighters believe the explosions may have been the tires on two vehicles popping from the heat. the son and his elderly parents came back to the home this morning. he wouldn't go on camera. he said he started it and it was accidental. several neighbors say the police have been out here before and a lot of suspicious people go in and out of the home at all hours of the day. >> the police have been out twice. they have the streets blocked off and everything one time. >> reporter: does this surprise you at all to see something

0 years ago today a fire sparked in the oakland hills burning down nearly 3,000 homes, and it was also one. deadliest. abc 7 news reporter wayne freedman takes a look back at the damage as well as the survivors. >> reporter: it is old home week on proctor avenue high above oakland, especially for someone who has lived in the same place for half a century. >> a lot of memories. >> reporter: more than most for gary and sharon. this is the place that brought them together after it burn to the ground with thousands of others in the oakland hills in october 1991. >> i don't think anyone had ever seen a fire like that. >> reporter: gary was an oakland fireman working to hold back the flames, an impac task. >> unbelievable. i couldn't believe what i was witnessing. it was just overwhelming. >> reporter: for those who lived through it, the sights and sounds are seared into memory, the futility of a garden hose. >> that roof is going to

explode. there's nothing you can do! >> reporter: fury of the wind, and finally the realization that even with all of our technology there was nothing we could do. one more small explosion would be a eucalyptus tree blowing up and then you would hear a louder pop and it was a car blowing up and then would you hear an explosion and it was a house blowing up. a lot of house disease not burn, they blew up. >> reporter: ron lives one house down on proctor avenue with his wife debby. >> fires don't jump freeways. it's an eight-lane freeway >> reporter: firestorm erupted on sunday and began with something smaller, seemingly insignificant on saturday. winds rekindled it. i look outside and the whole hillside, oakland hills just covered with black smoke. >> abc 7 news photographer john griffin lived in the area as residents ran from the flames and he found his way in and shot most of the video you see in this story. >> every how is that i came in

week inform anniversary. doors open, doors close. from the oakland hills, wayne freedman, abc 7 news. >> i remember like it it was yesterday. the devastation unthinkable. tiles created by the survivors of that worst firestorm in u.s. history line the walls of oakland's rockridge b.a.r.t. station. abc 7 news was as the b.a.r.t. station for a closer look at the miniature works of art showing scenes from that fire and honoring the victims. san francisco mayor ed lee delivered a personal thank you today to everyone who helped save the passengers aboard a boat that capsized during fleet week. the mayor paid tribute to civilians and first responders who helped pull 27 adults and three children to safety. the 34-foot boat went down near pier 45 on october 7th trapping some people under the post. others jumped into the water most without life jackets. everyone was rescued. >> but we do have a city of heros, a city who are prepared to be heros, not because they

want that label but because your objective is to save people's lives and to make sure that we all get to enjoy not just fleet week but to enjoy the city. >> the ceremony also included honors for seven members of the police and fire departments. the state attorney general is recognizing a san francisco elementally school for its efforts fighting truancy. abc 7 news was at the elementary school this morning when kamala harris congratulated students and staff for making big improvements to student attendance. statewide more than 7% of students are chronically absence and harris says truancy at a young age can lead to bigger problems. >> many, many years ago, when we were in the d's office we did an assessment of who the homicide victims were who were under the age of 25 and we learned that 94% were high school dropouts. >> beginning next year chronic absence rates will become part of the state's accountability system for public schools. spencer christian, well,

view, a clear sky over the golden gate. we'll take a look at the temperature change that we're predicting for tomorrow. this first column represents today's high temperatures. notice it's going to be eight degrees warmer tomorrow in vallejo and four degrees warmer in oakland and concord and redwood city and san jose and two degrees cooler in san francisco and redwood city. did i say cooler, two degrees warmer in redwood city and san francisco. so let's take a look at the south bay first. high temperatures there tomorrow will be in the low to mid-80s. 18 at san jose and 85 at morgan hill. on the peninsula, upper 70s to around 80. mountianview 77 and redwood city and 72 half moon bay and downtown san francisco tops out at 73 degrees tomorrow. up in the north way we'll see 82 in santa rosa and 81 in sonoma. the near east bay with highs in the upper 70s to near 80 in the castro valley and inland east bay you can expect low to mid-80s, up to 82 in fairfield and 81 in livermore and 83 at antioch. now, looking ahead we talked

about some chances of rain, and this is what the forecast animation reveals right now starting at noon on sunday. we'll see a little bit of shower activity develop in the northern most part of our viewing area, sweeping slowly southward and then into overnight hours sunday night and monday, little pockets of showers. into the early morning hours on tuesday and then finally that chance of rain diminishing on midday on tuesday. looks like we'll probably get a little wet weather out of the approaching system. here's the accuweather seven-day forecast after our warm fall day to recall. we'll still see mild conditions inland on friday but it's a little cooler at the coast. increasing clouds on saturday and a chances of showers on sunday, monday and tuesday as we have a rather insettled pattern, and then next wednesday able to become partly cloudy or partly sunny once again. >> all right. >> and that's your 20/20 focus. >> everything is perfectly in focus. >> as close to 20/20 as can i get. >> the owner of the oakland raiders says the city dropped the ball. he also couldn't be more clear

raiders owner mark davis put on a show today trying to convince other nfl owners to support his proposed move to las vegas. >> that was front and center at the nfl owners meeting. krints y kristen sze is here with the new developments. >> reporter: mark davis basically told him oakland has shut the door on itself by doing nothing to keep the raiders in

this city, and espn tweets davis plans to file papers to move his team from oakland to las vegas in january. this, of course, comes two days after nevada's governor signed a bill approving $750 million in public funding to help build in stadium that will be shared by the raiders and unlv. >> we would love to have the raiders stay in oakland. we think that that's a positive thing. our staff is working with the mayor and officials in the oakland area to see if there are alternatives out there, but we haven't -- we don't have one yet. >> what one person told me is that libby schaaf needs to come to the next owner's meeting and make a presence, but also oakland needs to simply present stadium design and plan financing that the ownership can evaluate. >> in a statement just released, oakland mayor lady schaaf says i believe in partnership with alameda county and the team ronnie lott has assembled, we

students at june jordan school in san francisco walked in solidarity as classes resume one day after a shooting that injured four students. police are looking for four suspects and say the shooting was gang-related. in afghanistan a man wearing an afghan army uniform opened fire near a coalition base. there. >> you can't just put your hands on me like that! >> reporter: lonnie thomas and lieutenant olson. the officer claimed he stopped thomas from walking in the middle of the street impeding traffic but the woman said he was hugging the right side of construction. >> they are going to take me to jail for this. >> the officer didn't need to approach the situation in that manner. didn't need to put his hands. >> reporter: thomas detained at the scene and cited for disorderly conduct was later released and that citation dropped. >> we can't deny here is that officer olson maintained his calm. >> reporter: mayor also announced because the officer followed protocol he will not be disciplined. for some that was clearly not the answer. city officials say they will now review the policies and will also look to see if any reforms are necessary, including retraining the officers. elizabeth hur, abc news, new york. it was a close call for a police officer in the small town

according to a new lawsuit smupg's galaxy note 1 is not the company's only smartphone that's having problems. take a look at a samsung galaxy s6. a new complaint says the phone was left on the night stand by a couple from amador county, and in the middle of the night flames. no one was seriously injured, but can you imagine waking up to that. the couple is suing samsung, that after their lawyers found over 30 complaints filed by samsung customers that date back to 2011. they warned samsung there would be serious consequences if samsung didn't do something to get to the root cause.

>> the complaints were filed with the consumer product safety commission citing problems with various samsung models. a samsung spokesperson tells abc 7 news that the company does not comment on pending litigation. the federal communications commission has lowered the boom on t-moenchlt the country's number three wireless carrier will pay a $48 million fine for misinforming customers about its unlimited data plans. the fcc says t-mobile slowed down the speeds of customers who used a lot of data but didn't let customers know how much data usage would trying their lower speed. as you probably know we have a mid-week warming trend and sunny skies prevail all over the bay area. the warming trend will reach its peak tomorrow as high temperatures on the coast will reach into the low 70s, low to mid-70s. upper 70s to near 80 and low to mid-80s in our inland area and it will be almost summer-like and our rain chances which will

ashl ashley. students did return to class with counselors on standby at june jordan school for equity, a high school in the excelsior district. melanie woodrow joins us live from campus with the latest. melanie, the continuing search for four suspects. >> reporter: absolutely, and we are waiting to hear from police regarding the latest on that search for the four suspects. the students we spoke with here this afternoon seemed resilient. their parents slightly more concerned. tonight school officials say that the four victims are recovering from their injuries. meantime police say they are working with school officials to make sure that they can respond quickly in a situation like this after what those school officials are calling a miscommunication yesterday. june jordan school for equity students are standing together one day after a shooting in the school's parking lot during dismissal. >> you can just smell community like when you come in. >> reporter: one female student
