>> reporter: autopsy results won't be in for another two months. the pittsburgh native planned to one day return home and become a social worker to help troubled teenage girls. the funeral will be wednesday morning. she'll be buried with full military honors. a falling tree killed a man guard rning in his backyard. the 75 foot tree came home behind a home near dominican university. the 77-year-old was crushed underneath. first responders were unable to revive him. investigators said the tree started leaning over the house the last few months. today members of the uc berkeley greek committee met. two women were reportedly assaulted at fraternity parties off campus last weekend. in response the greek system has chosen to suspend parties at both fraternities and vo

sororities. the group met to discuss policing events going forward. a game was played and an injured player was from the opposing team. trainers escorted him off the field. an balance took him to the field. students say seeing the injury shook them up. >> it's a scary thing even though it wasn't one of my players. it's kind of sad to see another player down because they don't come out here wanting to get injured. >> witnesses say the boy was walking, talking and moving after the injury. lincoln won 21-18. the trip from the east bay to treasure island got safer and easier today. new off and onramps opened up to drivers. the biggest difference is the exit is now on the right side of the bridge instead of the far left. the tight turns and quick merges are gone as well.

lobbying for early voting. elizabeth hur. >> a teenager with passion for helping others has scared up a haunted house for a good cause. we were in albany for a behind the scenes tour of the broken spine mine. it's an elaborate haunted house. this is the fourth year they've built the haunted house. this year's theme is an abandoned mine in the middle of the bay that no one knows about. >> be scared and startled and amazed by special effects and all sorts of actors. >> the haunted house is at 1048 peralta avenue. you can get in for a suggested donation of $5. half of the money raised go to the community food bank. in the south bay more than 5,000 people came out to help find a cure for cancer.

ridiculous. turning overseas, defense secretary ash carter went to iraq to assess progress in the fight for mosul. the press secretary tweeted picture of the visit. first he was briefed on the mosul operation, the goals to take the city back from isis control. he then met with iraq's prime minister who thanked him for the operation, carter also addressed the troops. he offered condolences for the first service member to die in the mission, a navy explosives specialist from southern california who died in an explosion on thursday. iraqi forces are making progress in the mosul mission. on thursday they took back the christian city of bartella. and today they held off a push by isis fighters to reclaim. no one was wounded in the exchange of gunfire and rockets. iraqi troops also retook a sown southeast of mosul.
