closer look there. you can see it's been taped off, and a lot of officers there investigating. this is the san francisco ocean view neighborhood where it all happened. >> good evening. i'm dan ashley. >> and i'm kristen sze. thanks for joining us. details are just coming from the scene about exactly what happened in that neighborhood. >> this incident happened on cap hall avenue about a block from the ocean view rec center. >> sky 7 is above the home where the violent confrontation happened. for the latest on the investigation, abc 7 news reporter vic lee is live on the phone. vic? >> reporter: well, we don't have anything officially from police yet, but what we are giving you is sourced information, information from good reliable sources that we've been able to talk to, and as i give you this information you are seeing shots from sky 7 over the crime scene. first of all, chp officer from redwood city, as you said, is at san francisco general. we want to stress that his injuries we're told are not

considered life-threatening. we are learning that this started out as a stolen car, autoburglary operation by the san mateo county task force. daily city, chp and perhaps other police jurisdictions from san mateo county were involved in this operation. they were chasing a stolen white van. the chase ended up here on montana and faxon streets in the ocean side district, as you said. the van crashed into a house, we're told, at the far end of this block. we don't know who fired the shots, the chp officer or the daily city police officer, but we are told that this is definitely an officer-involved shooting, that that's how they -- the san francisco police department is investigating this incident. we interviewed a woman, by the way, who saw the chase from the corner and she said that white van and another car, that they were going at high speeds.

they turned the corner at montana, and they ended up in a crash at the end of the street. a san francisco police is apparently the lead agency at these because this is san francisco and the other agencies daily city, chp are assisting. that's the very latest from the crime scene here in the oceanside district. we will, of course, bring you more information as we get it. we're awaiting for the police cio to come back here and brief us. >> thanks very much for the continued reporting on it. look live from sky 7 from the scene which is a pretty significant incident that. officer was injured but not life-threatening injuries which is good news. you can see the really banged-up silver car in the center of your screen and the center of the story as you look live now from sky 7. >> a reminder that the roads that may be closed while they

investigate. right now let's go to abc 7 news reporter carolyn tyler live at the hospital. carolyn? >> reporter: well, this all went down just before 4:00 this afternoon, and we have video showing you this chp officer being wheeled in to the emergency room here at san francisco general hospital. again, this laid out some of this, but we're told that this officer was with the stanley mateo county aurt theft task force and he's not expected to suffer any kind of life-threatening injuries. as he was being taken from the oceanview recreational center, the ambulance was surrounded by eight or ten of the chp officers. we're told he's being treated

officers involved in the controversial shooting of alex nieto in march of 2014. a federal jury exonerated the office others involved in the nieto surgery. a mother and baby the subject of an am bert alert yesterday have been found safe hundreds of miles away in the sierra. guerneville police say little henry massy was taken by his mother 35-year-old hannah ashley on sunday morning. she did not have legal custody of the boy. there's the mother's face. both were found just after 3:00 this afternoon in downeyville in sierra county. the mother is now in police custody, and the babe is under the care of state protective services. a key piece of -- watch this. security videos shows a suspect repeatedly pushing

worker. the guys who did this got away without any money and no one was seriously sglurt a woman suffered only minor or moderate injuries today after she told officers she jumped out of a speeding car on the oakland freeway. police have not said why she jumped. the woman told officers the car was a maroon-color sedan driven by a man she knows. the chp is looking for witnesses. two contra costa fire fighters are under arrest after a brawl early sunday. it happened at the marriott walnut creek. hours after the second annual firefighters ball. police said when they arrived one man attacked. both officers face disciplinary charges. >> it's officially game day and now the warriors are among the

beechcraft single-engine plane that as it came down grazed high tension power lines and smashed into this inaccessible canyon off kirker pass road near pittsburgh. >> reporter: the neighbors reported seeing a plane coming and spiraling down out of the air and then they saw some smoke come up from back in the area other. >> fire investigators say body parts are scattered across a wide debris field they found smouldering. >> due to the nature of the terrain of where the incident was at we brought out an engine to get further up into the area. there was a significant debris field and damage to the plane. >> reporter: the faa is on the scene as is the coroner's office. ntsb investigators will arrive tonight. "the east bay times" reports that the pilot took off from amador county and flew into concord's buchanan field last week and took off today at 12:30 when something catastrophic happened to bring that plane down with such intense force. i'm leslie brinkley, abc 7 news.
